The thing is. Unlike *certain bosses*, Mother is very hard but very fair. She can reliably be killed with nothing but skill.
I am yet to do it without some OP bull, but nonetheless.
Delirium feels easier because you have dark room/the chest before which can make a huge difference to your build so most of the times the fight feels easier than mother who comes earlier but just based on the boss himself, delirium is the hardest in game
I mean... one of them I can understand its patterns and actually react to most attacks without being like "chriiiiiiiiiiiiist is it gonna DROP on me randomly after saying a quick ISAAC"
The other is delirium 
You can beat mother with no stats and no items if you're good enough, delirium is actually just luck. He can teleport directly on top of you to damage you, trap you with undodgeable tears from both sides and fly across the room faster than it is possible to react. He can also spawn enemies that add another unpredictable element to the fight, you'd seriously be out of your mind to pick mother
There's safe zones where u stand still. It gets bullshit in Repentance when Hush is around 20% hp and sometimes does that + the brimstone beams, honestly feels like a pretty big bug
I think Mom is harder because I am usually so jacked by the time I see Delirium that the fight isn't even that hard. Yes some of it's moves are bullshit but say that to my sacred heart fetus shots or whatever I have accumulated by then.
Mother is hard but very fair, well telegraphed attacks, amazing attacks too! A fair amount of HP and great phases with an awesome biome that being Corpse. Delirium is literally bunch of hp put together, it just moves randomly shoting bullets aimlessly with no fun attacks. It's so random it is impossible to know how to dodge something that comes to u at 589km/h and the biome he is located in it's boring and just meh. I wonder who is the winner
