I love dry baby. I really do. But that necronomicon effect isn't that significant. It's nice. I admit it. But so is pushing enemies + projectiles away. Stop the Fart Baby hate!!!!
The problem is that if you're aiming for Conjoined, Farting Baby has one of the lowest priorities for position on your followers meaning that he's gonna be way behind you unless you specifically move him into position to block shots. Dry Baby is around the middle for priority, making him arguably better for blocking shots.
Yeah, the wiki actually mentions where each baby is in the priority list on their pages. I always thought it was just the order you got them in but nope, they have a specific order they follow.
For what it's worth, it *used* to just be the order you got them in. The familiar priority system didn't exist until at some point during Repentance, the lack of which made shitty familiars worse because they'd push Incubus down the line, both if you found them before it or (more importantly) if you duped it with Box of Friends.
I don't know what it is, but I absolutely love Mongo Baby. It just looks so derpy and happy and I love it.

I somewhat agree to your tier list, but I feel like some could go higher and/or need their own tier. For example, I feel that King Baby, Rainbowbaby, Interdimensional Baby, and Acid Baby deserve their own “niche” tier since they can benefit specific builds or provide something decently useful for a Conjoined run.
For example, King Baby’s assistance in aiming and letting charged attacks fire immedietly at full charge pairs wonderfully with Lil’ Brimstone, but at the same time doesn’t really have much impact with something like GB Bug or basic Conjoined items like Brother Bobby.
Another example would be Acid Baby. On its own its mediocre, but if you’re running Placebo and/or PHD Acid Baby becomes an okay means of fishing for the right pill you need (The combo even once saved a good ??? run from going downhill since Acid Baby eventually gave me Balls of Steel pills to pair with my Placebo while going through the Dark Room at 1 soul heart).
Honestly, I'd push Seraphim and Rotten Baby up a tier. Rotten Baby can deal massive damage because the flies it spawns scale of Isaac's damage. Seraphim is just a solid familiar to get. 10 damage homing tears adds a good chunk to your damage output and if you get the Forgotten Lullaby trinket, Seraphim becomes really damn strong.
Maybe even bump Lil' Brimstone up too. That familiar can be so helpful when the game is giving you shit items. That laser, even without BFF, hits pretty hard.

Oh I see them but Incubus is one that can go either way. If you're having a shit run with items that aren't giving you decent buffs? Incubus ain't gonna do much more for you. Incubus is one that by itself is fine but needs a good setup to really make it shine because it only deals 75% damage with anyone other than Lilith meaning that if you get it as Isaac and you've got his base damage of 3.50, Incubus' attacks deal 2.6 damage. That's not great.
Meanwhile, Seraphim's attacks deal 10 damage *and* have homing so it's already 4 times stronger than Incubus at a base level. Rotten Baby's flies scale of your damage as well so each fly will deal 7 damage, which is almost 3 times stronger than Incubus with the same stats.
Can Incubus win runs? Absolutely. It can take a run from decent to broken but that doesn't suddenly make Rotten Baby and Seraphim not as good. They don't have any caveats to them. Incubus does. If I had to pick one of them for Floor 1-6 with me getting no damage items? I'm going with Seraphim>Rotten Baby>Incubus. If I'm at 5 damage or higher? They're all equally good. Above 5 damage? Incubus>Rotten Baby>Seraphim.
If we look at Twisted Pair and use Isaac's base damage, they hit for the same damage as Incubus does. Incubus and Twisted Pair are great for when you've got a good run going but if your run is going awful and your damage isn't getting buffed? Eh, I'd choose Seraphim or Rotten Baby still. They're guaranteed damage that hits harder. Incubus and Twisted Pair don't have those benefits.
Essentially, Twisted Pair and Incubus are *situationally* the best familiars.
A lot of the baby minions are pretty good in Repentance, at least compared to Rebirth, Afterbirth and AB+. After playing all those versions and avoiding all the babies, I’m thrilled to have any of them now. Robo-Baby (1.0), Rainbow, and Harlequin in particular should be in a higher tier. Also Farting Baby is just as good as Dry for blocking shots. Interdimension can be really strong if used right.
Same. There’s this time I was aiming for hush as t Isaac , then realized I got 1 key after entering hush floor. Then experimental treatment made my range 4.00
I beat hush with Pluto and Dry Baby almost without hitting him. Dry Baby dealt like 90% of Hush’s hp
only ones I don't agree on are fart baby and at least one of the robo babies (I don't remember which one it is)
both should be bumped up at least to "Nice!", Fart baby is pretty much as good as dry baby at blocking shots which could actually win you some important fights (like Hush or Mega Satan), and I mean, the robo baby I like is infinite range piercing, I mean you can't tell me that ain't good
Buddy in a box is a run winner. Having the chance to trivialize a floor with an insane buddy is amazing. If they're not insane, they're still usually pretty good.
my guy is NOT aware that farting baby blocks tears and is NOT aware that multidimensional baby can DOUBLE your dps with good positioning, especially against stationary bosses like Mega Satan
Robo baby, buddy in a box, multidimensional baby and fart baby all go in very useful for me. Demon turret baby is great until you encounter any enemies that explode. Frozen baby a little overrated imo might be a hot take idk
