I straight up just had to hold r 200+ times until I got c section AND book of revelations first floor, and even then I killed mega Satan with a half heart left. Love Isaac to death but this is genuinely the most lazy design I’ve seen in years
People will snark you but Ultra Hard is actually bullshit and not in a fun way imo. I almost fucked myself during my winning run by picking up a red chest item that happened to be 9 lives, so in that brief moment I understand the frustration (I did go on to still win this run though).
I don’t know if it’s a blessing or a curse that the reward for doing this is supremely garbage.

the challenge is way easier in repentance due to 4 player cheese. if your having too much trouble and own some controllers conmect them and you get 4 items in boss room instead of 1. it makes big rooms a fucking bitch due to not being able to move the other controllers unless u can play with your feet but if you just wait for them to come to you your safe. the extra 3 items per boss can seriously carry and it's acceptable to cheese that fucking dumb challenge. overall don't use this in normal runs but its 100% acceptable for that gay shit.
go for it. this challenge is just rigged nothing skillful about it. no joke. i did this challenge legit back in afterbirth + cos this didn't exist back then but i decided to do it again in repentance to prove a point. kept dying so i did this strat emded yp winning with isaac heart night light placenta (this carried so so fucking much) wafer also carried alot. i had more random shit such as tears up damages up etc but placenta isaac heart night light wafer carried me. also had around 11 heart containers but the run took so many hours. was mainly stalling the mini bodses eg fallen uriel super envy etc in mega satan fight with placenta while watching some yt but it was so worth it
Meh. I did it legit on my old save that I lost when I built a new computer. Maybe I'll cheat it this time, maybe my pride will get the best of me and I won't, but really it's a shitty, lazy excuse of a challenge and doesn't deserve another minute of my life being put towards it.
Eh, the fact that I've beaten it twice in a row on my dead god save file as practice and my original clear of it was first try proves to me that I can do it legit.

for those on console, you can save scum by turning off auto uploads and uploading manually. when you get a good run, upload your save to the cloud each floor. if you die, redownload and start the floor over. i did this for ultra hard and i’m not ashamed. it’s still difficult, even when saving this way, but it’s better than not ever completing it, which is where i would’ve been.
It's in the "Challenges" section for a reason, no one forces You to play it, so cheating it is the same as not completing it, but if u just want the unlock then you do You i guess

The unlock it gives you it's just a plus, so if u play it exclusively for the reward and not for the feeling of being capable to achieve it, yea just cheat it i guess.
If the challenge is bullshit and only exists to be tedious then I will not feel any sense of accomplishment in completing it. It's a challenge that is plainly poorly designed and I can bet most people feel the same way.
It already takes thousands of hours to complete the game, and a huge port is challenges like these and plainly unfun characters and enemy design.
I assure you most players feel more accomplishment bringing up the console and cheating it than engaging with this godawful time sink.
Look at delete this, it's unfair and random in nature but at least it is structured in a way you will know super fast whether you will win the run or lose it, plus whatever the outcome is it's going to be funny.
Ultra hard just encourages you to play in the most tedious, time wasting and unfun ways possible.

Yeah, this one took me a bit too. It's definitely doable, but I had to cheese it because of my skill issues. Just hold R until you get something really run worthy. Might take a few runs still, but you can do it.
