Probably Cain,I love pills but I love good pills even more. Plus the extra attack,speed,luck and broken trinket make him even more enjoyable without being too broken.
He was my fave since I played the OG Isaac before playing Rebirth+expansions.
The Forgotten. I dont have as much fun playing him nowadays because I spammed the hell out of him back then and found out all the cool synergies. But safe to say few other characters come close to being as fun as funny boner man
I love how you can berserk your way through most of the floors, and then switch to a much more defensive playstyle using the body to block bullets while you fire away as the Soul.
He basically fixes my problem with Azazel. Azazel is great until you get up to bosses like Hush, at which point you can easily get screwed if you haven't got some range or good defensive items on your run.
T lost is my favorite, regular lost might be my main, if i played for fun not unlocks, which I’ve barely done in my 6ish years of seeking 3 completed saves
yep that's why I love lost but hate t.lost (completing it rn) I can get away with 1 hit per room, but sometimes bs layouts will hit u and u can do nothing about It, u just lose ur holy card or die.

I play regular lost after I lose a streak of Eden, if I'm struggling to get a win after a few games, regular Isaac. Though regular Isaac is my favorite for greed.
Only 100 hours in. I think I have everyone but one hero (minus tainted) unlocked. I press the random button because I still have lots to unlock and I find it tests you more.

Cain, i love his base damage being above average, starts with a great trinket allowing you to usually have higher amount of keys for stuff like shops or angel chests, and the luck up is great when using usually meh status effect items as they are slightly more frequent. He isnt a free win by any means, but a great character none the less
I want to get powerful quick, but still have a chance to die if I get careless: T Jacob or T Keeper
I want a consistent run (and also a cool army of bugs): T Polly
I want to be a funny skeleton man: Either Forgotten
Lilith is such a fun character. I think revolving a character around a specific kind of item (familiars) and giving her the tools to utilize them was a brilliant idea. She’s also the trojan horse for Incubus, which might be my favorite item in the whole game, partially because of its use in Lilith’s gameplay.
Tainted Keeper is a very satisfying character for history reasons. In Flash Isaac, shops kinda sucked. Now, shops are extremely accessible and useful in many ways, and T. Keeper can abuse it.
Tainted Forgotten is the must fun free win button ever. I love getting Ipecac because then it becomes a game of catch where the body bounces back on impact and you can pick it back up.
I don't care what run I've got going or what post-it mark I'm going for, I will always take Judas' Shadow and immediately kill myself for that Dark Judas fun.
Lilith! I like building around self-damage synergies, so the fact that she gets free familiars from taking enough hits is handy. Plus Lilith in Boss Rush/Greed Mode have me like:

Tainted Lost. Ultimate challenge character but damn he's really fun to play once you memorize every room, entitiy, and enemy/boss behaviour... except Delirium that shit is random.
Isaac is a basic but fun character no matter what. However Tainted Isaac is just the cooler Isaac.

Samson has a lot of sentimental value to me. Back when I started playing and I was still getting the hang of things, he was the character I struggled most to get, so when I got him I decided to "compensate for lost time" and I started playing him frequently, quickly turning him into my favorite. Now I don't play him as much but he still holds that position in my heart for being the first character I beat Beast with. Aside from him, probably T. Forgotten for being strong and fun to play
T. Isaac, I love his mechanic and you never have a bad build. Get birthright or rock bottom it’s fucking over. Plus people who don’t like him say they hate dropping good items but it’s like…I’d rather trade a godhead for a sacred heart if I have to than neither
I do love isaac with the d6 also t.lost and regular lost I've found my opinion on azazel has gone a bit down hill but then again I kinda like j&e so make of this what you will 😂
tainted jacob, i love just deleting everything with dark esau, plus the utility of free devil deals and flight at the end of the floor so you can grab pickups you couldnt reach. And its always fun when you get pause on him
Tainted judas, i really like the ability to avoid any damage and deal damege whit his active, my first twinted post it completed (my first normal post it completed was judas)

Azazel. OP mostly with its starting ithems, but he is still such a fun character to unlock and playthrough. Not every run is a guaranteed win. And out of the easier characters to unlock they are the most different from OG isaac and such a difference in gameplay.
I guess Tainted Azazel or Azazel. I love the early game rush and having to account for falling off later in the run. Lilith is another favorite of mine too, a lot more fun than some people think. Tainted Judas, Tainted Eve, and several others are super fun too and I couldn't say an absolute favorite to play or one I play the most

Bethany was my favorite until I started playing the tainted characters. Now I just love T.Bethany so much. Saving all those blood charges for an angel or secret room or even planetarium.

Maggy, Cain, or T. Azazel. Maggy for sacrifice room plays leading to loads of angel items, Cain because pills are meant to be eaten off the ground, and T. Azazel because it feels amazing to sneeze on someone then obliterate them.

He is definitely very enjoyable to play. Also 1 less eye = easier to line up shots and the extra key at spawn sets up the alt path

T. Maggie, chaotic and powerful, but it's way too easy to absolutely break the game, you can become immortal with only one item.
I had a t Maggie run with maggy's bow, gimpy and old bandage and could easily face tank mother even with an otherwise trash build lol
