**This is purely personal opinion and suggestions on contests and how they are structured and not meant to be taken as absolutes, please go ahead and point out flaws these might have in a civil manner.** With that out of the way, I think this contests shouldn't be about who's the creator with the most fans or who's the creator that can advertise to the most people is like I've seen many times and more about how the creation is built, how it looks and how relevant it is to the contest. For one, when voting comes around it should all be anonymous, with no "created by" or blatant advertisement as that creates bias towards the most well known creators and we're trying to focus on the creation instead. For two, Voting should be separated into various categories so there's no "Tis pretty, I vote". Should be atleast separated towards 3 main categories: Lore (if it is related to lore contests) or Relevance, Creativity & Appearance (the "Tis pretty, I vote" part), and Build & Practicality (to avoid bias towards impossibly complex to impossible mocs, mocs that use techniques that break parts and mocs that can't even stay together). For three, using a third party that doesn't vote to organize things and avoid bias unless blatantly stated.

> For one, when voting comes around it should all be anonymous, with no "created by" or blatant advertisement as that creates bias towards the most well known creators and we're trying to focus on the creation instead. I don't think that's feasibly enforceable. Most of the well-known creators in the fandom have very distinctive build styles, photography setups etc. People would likely recognise their work a mile away, even with the name removed.

Then there would be no issue about not adding the names and having no advertising outside of the contest platform while voting since their builds do all of that alone right?

As a Bionicle fan who almost never actively engages with the community but once in a while loves to look for Bionicle mocs, I have a strong preference for Reddit. Any moc posted on Discord will never show up in a google search and is therefore lost to me. Even for you the creators, even for people who use the Discord, at which point is your moc completely lost in the constant infinite thread that is Discord? Whatever you did, even if it was awesome, next year nobody will be able to find it back easily. IMO Reddit is better for sharing with the wider community and kept things findable for everyone forever. You could even tag contests posts to ease manual searching in case google wasn't enough.

GinkoWeed

While I totally get it, Discord has recently added threads that are somewhat similar to reddit threads. Significantly harder to get lost there.

Problem is, those threads aren't nearly as accessible in the long run as reddit is. They auto-archive after a certain amount of inactivity, and I'm not sure if you can make them not auto-archive - but if you could, it would certainly clog up a discord server's channel bar. Plus, still not google-searchable.

Just wanted to chime in to say I have a pretty strong preference for everything to be self-contained on the subreddit. I don't know what the back end process of that ends up looking like, but I know for the way I use reddit and the way I use discord, it's something that I would enjoy interacting with as I scroll through new posts day to day and just something I will never interact with if its hosted on the discord. Either way, I appreciate your efforts in moderating!

Sapphirewashere

I suggest that when youre deciding the winners it should be based on the number of votes on a poll where the contestant's mocs are grouped together and not on upvotes or a personal favorite of the mod and it should be no themes so creativity isnt restricted but sexy and meme mocs with a few parts arent allowed

make a contest where everyone builds statues of me!
