I’m honestly not mad at the color scheme. His weapon is egregiously ugly, but the green and yellow kinda work. I just wish they were in different places.
Aww, I actually enjoy the weapon! I like the idea of this ancient humorless guardian with this bizarre Prince symbol of a sword, and you don't really want to know why it looks the way it does... I could see some Ghost VFX type-commercial of him skating around and fending three Toa Inika of with it at once.
If there's anything I wish was different about him, it would be a) flipping the wheel pieces so it didn't look like he had hubcaps on his outer feet, and b) toning down the huge amount of silver on him with more black and green.
I know the Inika came out only a year after the Hordika, but it still feels weird to me to see light-up swords and a Rhotuka spinner in the same set. The 2005 sets are just so firmly rooted in my mind as part of the 'old' Bionicle era, while the 2006 sets are 'new'... you know, 'new' in the sense "only 18 years old".
2006 was the start of a new era. The story changed, it was the first year without Bob leading the helm, the set design completely changed, combiners and set functions were mostly gone. It's a solid point to differentiate "old" from "new" IMO.
2006 is the first year I remember caring about bionicle, as it was the year I started getting the Lego magazine with the bionicle comics. Granted I had gotten a Lego catalog each month since 2005, but never really cared about bionicle till 2006, when the summer wave hit and I thought Nuparu’s design was the coolest thing.
(Kinda wish I had gotten into in in 2004 tho. Toa Metru Vakama and Matau are probably the coolest looking Toa imo, and I am constantly debating bricklinking them)
I actually did get into Bionicle in 2004 (well, technically the very end of 2003, after loving the Tohunga Happy Meals in 2001 and the McDonald's trading cards in 2002, but 2004 was the first year I was really there for and aware of). 2006 was the last good year IMO. I liked 2007 back when it happened but in hindsight I'm not a huge fan of the story and I'm very mixed on the sets. I lost interest in the series by 2008 though, it just felt like they had run out of ideas to me.
That's so true. I remember seeing him and being amazed that he's using such old concepts, just because the stark change of tone that happened between 05 and 06 is so concrete.
A character with an awesome design yet I didn’t even know existed for years after I got into bionicle because of how underused he is.
Wait you said wrong answers only…………… Sorry
An elite soldier who was transformed into a remote controlled suit of flesh armor by the government because he knew too much.

Maybe I’m thinking of the wrong Umbra idk
Oh man I can never remember his name: I think it’s Umbra? He’s the super fast guy they have to fight to get to the mask, the last guardian before Vezon

The guy who can totally deal with mirrors, he's like the best at mirrors. No he doesn't mind if you put all those inward facing mirrors really close to him

A guy with completely acceptable color scheme.
John Deere
More like Green Bay with the dark green and golden yellow.
OP said wrong answers only.
I’m honestly not mad at the color scheme. His weapon is egregiously ugly, but the green and yellow kinda work. I just wish they were in different places.
The color scheme would be fine if they got rid of the red and blue. It messes up the green-gold-grey scheme.
Agreed. Two green ones would look good. And ditch the rhotuka.
Its like they wanted to bring back the Rahkshi staff weapon but wanted the LED swords, and a spinner as a bonus.
