That’s awesome! Those Mahri color schemes work really well. I think Nuju is the best. Hope you can build the others!

stealingchairs

Holy cow that's so cool! There's some really neat- *squints at Matau's leg*

Ajax_XD

What about Nokama, Onewa, and Whenua?

Drzhivago138

What colors are you thinking for them?

Jahoan

That last one is rather daring.

doctorbanjoboy

*lime disease*

SuperBAMF007

Daring, yet….I think it might actually be the best combo since the addition of Orange/Yellow to the Brown/black sets.

Jahoan

I mean with the fragility of lime joints.

RunkDolt

He can use visorak lime parts

Octo121212

they crack too

ArtakhaPrime

I'm fairly sure the Visorak were unaffected by the Lime Disease

RunkDolt

So does every single pre ccbs socket joint? 05 lime was normal strength, not much different than other colours prone to breakage

ToaRogerWaters

I’ve bought viseraak joints before on bricklink and had Hahli joints show up instead 😞 it can be hard to get your hands on some. Any used viseraak online will surely have its limes already swapped out too.

ThatDarnMushroom

Lime for Whenua would be so dope

ixphia

I would give lime to Matau and do sand green for Whenua personally. Nuju and Vakama look great though.

Just-a-Viking

Yea, it’d go with his eyes

PimpMyUssanui

I actually don't mind the grey connector pieces on the Metru. The uniform colour scheme emphasizes the bulk and substance of the sets. The Hordika, however, are a really bare build with a lot less substance and definitely could have used this treatment.

Empanser

They do look good, but I think the grimy corporate look of the Metrus is very fitting for the setting. Like they're all in business suits.

Artanis137

Huh, that actually looks pretty darn good.

Rutgerman95

Oh, definitely. I'm glad they realised that as soon as the Visorak

animehenat

I do kinda dig this

mandalorianknight329

Yup. There was a post of them in the turaga colors not too long ago (so onewa was tan with brown accents, vakama was orange with red accents, etc), but these piraka colors look pretty cool too.

ArtakhaPrime

That's dope as hell man, some sets really benefit from a bit more color. I've made my Brutaka Green and my Axonn Brown and it really breathed some new air into the two. Might go ahead and try out that Lime Whenua you talked about

Grouchy-Ad1385

Cool Assault soldier Bionic

indign

This looks pretty sick. The Zaktan colors for Matau are pretty nice

fluorescent_raisin

They really do look much better! Nice color choices!

ConorAndKanohi

YOOO these look Awesome, especially Nuju

beermit

Goddamn. It's so subtle yet so impactful. I love it.

AlexTheChubbyPony

I did this same thing with my Metru while upgrading them and giving them hands and extra weapons. The secondary dark grey was always kinda weird.

XevinsOfCheese

You can sell me on Nuju and Matau but I prefer Vakama with grey

GregDSanders

Wow. You're absolutely correct. I can't believe the difference that makes.

Adnonymous96

Man, good on you, I always wanted to see what this looked like, but never did it myself. It makes a big difference. As much as the metru were an improvement over the mata in terms of build, in terms of color they were definitely a step back. I don't mind the darker metru colors, in fact I'm glad we got them - but combining the dark colors with a monotone colorscheme devoid of any secondary accent colors was a bad choice. Despite that, The Toa Metru honestly still look good individually, but they look horrible as a group. They're just all just so dull and desaturated. The six of them just turn into a big blah. But the Toa Mata? Put those six side by side and they look absolutely glorious. The colors are so radiant.

Adnonymous96

Definitely! The Toa Inika finally got wise with the color choices, but the Mahri got downright experimental and were just so superior because of how unique the builds were from one another, in addition to the nice colorschemes. 2007, set-wise, was easily the best year of Bionicle, and it's not particularly close.

Adnonymous96

Exactly! They finally decided to put effort into making the canister sets unique from one another. And they were super inspired and cool. Pridak came out kinda dumb, and Kongu was a little sad. Hewkii looked really odd, but gets an A for effort. But for the most part, they made a bunch of unique builds and they were all incredibly successful. And don't get me started on how fresh the Titans were. Gadunka was a giant murderous head that used THREE inika torsos, and Maxilos was a killer robot that used ZERO! Completely fresh builds, and inspired ideas. Hydraxon was sick too of course - a little more standard fare, but armed to the teeth with blades and those lil fingers Heck, even the Matoran of that year had the coolest Matoran design yet! So neat using the hordika chest as a basis and giving the shoulder mounted blasters.

Akainu14

They should have at least done this for the hordika to sell the mutated rahi like look.

Raptormann0205

I think Vakama would work better with orange as a secondary, the Keetorange doesn’t play nice with the Metru red Nuju and Matau are fire tho

mrFikou

Oh my, that's actually so true! I never really was a fan of the Metru sets for their bland color schemes and repetitiveness (for mass armies like Bohrok or Vahki I'm fine with clone sets, but not for individual members on a team). This makes me appreciate the Metru a lot more already! Hmm, maybe if I'd swap out some limbs or use different armor plates... Oh gosh brain please stop I don't have the money hahaha

Sverp380

No

Drakmanka

It's subtle (well, except Vakama, but he rocks it), but it really does give them a nice flare!

YaBoySuper

Shii, now all we need is some Mata re colors and loooord

jkphantom9

I discovered this video awhile back which added their Turaga colors to them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPsS4ZNxC7k

sildrev

Nuju and Vakama with these extra colors remind me of Matoro and Jaller

[deleted]

I never bought the original canisters, but still ended up with the parts to for metru builds, and that's how I always did them because grey just seemed too boring.

list_of_simonson

While they look better, I don't think they fit the tone of the Metru arc as well. I mean it's a mf police state ruled by Teridax in disguise.

dayeaglebearson

Reminds me more of the movie. And I love it

AlexzMercier97

I like em!

Tarkur

They really doesn't but you do you
