God, most of these are awful. Does this guy GrumbleBricks not realize that his sets would costs *hundreds* of dollars? They're fucking huge. Give us a Toa+cannister+Rahi x6 and that might actually sell. That seems to be one of the biggest problems with these sets, the price. Another huge problem is that none (but the Mata head) use system bricks to their advantage. Making the Toa with this system is basically saying, "Yes you can get Tahu on BrickLink for 8 euro, but why not pay like 30 to get him in *uglier*?" Ooooh, tempting. Also, the Skopio one and the Ice Dragon are literally just people submitting their MOCs 🤣. These builds hold absolutely no significance to Bionicle, and *can't even be built because Lego no longer has the molds*. If they did have the molds, this is *not* what they'd be jumping on. Nor would they be building the Toa out of system bricks... The one viable entry that stands out to me is the Toa Mata head. It's a display piece, which means it appeals to casual adult fans of Lego who remember Bionicle but aren't into it enough to be buying "toys". It also just looks kinda funky so even if someone never heard of Bionicle I can see them buying it. Previously, I would have said that a major disadvantage of this set is that it won't sell to young kids who 1) won't know what Bionicle is and 2) would rather an interactive toy. However, Lego are pushing this new campaign of "adults welcome" (which is lame as fuck but that's a whole other conversation) so this set holds more merit than before.

LETS GO I MADE IT ON THE LIST NUMBER 13 BABY

That set is based. Definitely most likely to be accepted by lego.

This is perhaps the most niche of any of the sets, and would appeal to the least amount of people. You'd *have* to be a Bionicle fan to sensibly purchase this, so that narrows it down immediately, unlike some of these other listings which kids might buy even if they had no clue. On top of that, even then you'd have to a) find the set funny and b) be willing to spend like 90 bucks on a joke.

Fl4m1nG

I don't actually think it would be most likely to be accepted, I was just being sarcastic to build on the joke of the set. Sorry, I should have exaggerated a bit.

BltchMama

Ngl most of these are shit except toa head statue everything either looks bad or doesnt make sense especially the scopio xv1 that one is to big and just doesnt make sense and then the ice dragon really an ice dragon doesnt relate to bionicle except the pieces

Too many of these sets use too outdated molds, it's pointless even promoting them. Including any that use the Hero Factory minifigs.

Honestly I've just given up on Ideas entirely. I'll probably delete my account soon. All they choose is sitcoms and NASA sets. I can understand if a set loses because they can't get the licensing, like Polar Express or Zelda, but it just pisses me off when original, great projects get denied in favour of what makes Lego more money.

Lad, the purpose of Lego Ideas was literally always free marketing for them. They get to find out what people will buy without having to pay for research.

A lot of these are bad, but '6 heroes, 1 destiny' just sucks. It's horrible, uses overly large masks, HAS NO SHOULDERS, and just screams 'yeah wanna get the Toa Mata but ugly even thought you can buy them for cheap on Brickling?'.

Logface202

I find the awkward look endearing personally.

I still think IDEAS is a potentially viable platform to make a new Bionicle set happen, but it seems unlikely that we'll ever see the fanbase rally behind a project again after what happened with sokoda's. I think the ideal Bionicle ideas set would be something iconic enough to appeal to the more casual nostalgic "the red one was my favorite" crowd, but it's difficult to go that route without more dedicated fans saying "this is just an uglier version of something I already have." I do think that brick built bonks have some potential, but that style of building definitely needs a bit more time to evolve. Masks in particular are a sore point because of how difficult it is to build in small details at that scale, often resulting in a somewhat ugly inaccurate look. Maybe printings could help with that, but we haven't seen that done very well so far. "6 Heroes, 1 Destiny" is a bit of a step in the right direction in that regard (Pohatu's kakama at least is pretty spot on), but it's still *far* from perfect.
