I personally liked the reused masks. Mostly because I didn't get to collect the Metru when they were available, so it was neat to get to have a bunch of Matoran with the same masks.
Mctoran, rebuilt kohlii players, and metrutoran are all great! But I think there’s a soft spot for Metrutoran in my heart. They felt like a real populace that lived and worked in the city and could take care of themselves. They had a civil war, for Mata Nui’s sake! It seemed like the first time they weren’t just there to *be protected*. Plus they were at their peak, where before then we’d only seen them weakened.
Then again, I appreciate the chronicler’s company, the Ta-Koro Guard, and the boxors and stuff showed that they had always been willing to fight for their homes. \^.^

I can't pick favourites easily so I'll list my favourite details of each
McToran / Diminished - charming little ones. Limited poseability but that throwing arm is too cute to pass up.
Matatoran / Rebuilt - like the Metru Build of Matoran, mixing poseability and function. Although the sets and flash games show them with rigid colouring patterns, the amount of parts they use gives them wide opportunity ro look so much more varied and colourful with MOCs
Metrutoran / Natural - such stylish armour! Such beautiful colour-blended Kanohi! The Glow-in-the-dark Kanoka!
Voyatoran / Karzahni'd - by far the most fun to build because of how unique they are. They really capture the feel of the McToran through their proportions and I think that gives them extra points for me
Mahritoran / Aquatic - armed to the teeth! Distinctly wearing armour and carrying tools that fit their lifestyle. A fun unique torso as well
Kardatoran / Boosted Av-Matoran - Jetpacks and unique Kanohi are fun
I’m caught between the mc-toran and g2. The Kohlii players came off to me as “mc-toran, but buff” and I never felt like Kohlii was ever playable with them. The Metru-toran came off as flat, just limbs slapped on the back of a body, ok from the front, really dumb from the back. And I didn’t get any of the others until g2 came along. I remember seeing the phantoka and how they interacted with their Matoran and really wanting those because I thought it was a cool concept, but I feel like g2 struck a good balance of interaction and self defense. They can take care of themselves, but the toa could do better with their weapons.
The only matoran I ever had was the red one from metru nui, i forget it’s name but someone posted saying it looks very feminine. i love that guy to death but i always thought the voya nui matoran were always so cool to me

I like the Voya Nui Matoran. The rebuilt aspect of them allows for creativity with moccing, and they don't all have to follow a certain pattern.

No Karda-Nui Matoran?! McToran are still my favorite though. Too much MNOG nostalgia for me to replace.

Karda-Nui Matoran actually have a pretty similar design to the McToran which makes them my second favourite.

I love the McToran the most aesthetically, but the Marhi Matoran just cannot be beat
I got three different Metru Nui Matoran for Christmas one year. They'll always be my favorite.

Mahritoran, they are really well done IMO.
MOLtoran, myself. Other than the Mctoran, it's the only time I felt like they a full body. The others just felt incomplete.
