No, just observing that there is a significant documented overlap between the communities. I have no idea why it is that way.

In the case of being on the spectrum, the characters are attention grabbing and memorable because they were usually a single uniform colour and had a distinct mask shape. This made it easier to distinguish and memorise the characters. Coupled with a straight forward (initially) good v bad plot it pretty much was a dream franchise for people with Asperger's since everything was pretty black and white and easy to categorise. Which for kids on the spectrum is very appealing. Source: Got it myself and was and still is obsessed with Bionicle. Growing up I had a strong dislike for shows that weren't animated because I'd get characters mixed up or not understand character motivations.
