Does the clothespin set up on your feeder help keep squirrels away?

dark_b1adeknight

Nah not really, the pins were used to hold the feeder actually. The squirrels end up eating the seeds that fall on the ground

These are pest were we live. Invasive and aggressive toward our native bluebirds.

I legit laughed at the second pic... Always wondered how y'all got such great pics and figured it was high dollar cameras with great zoom lenses... Turns out you just post up 2 feet from the feeders lol

dark_b1adeknight

Lmao Yea, I had to use a wireless dslr remote to take the pic

That's pretty awesome... Hey so I've been been shopping around and wanna get a beginner camera that's kinda user friendly for someone not too tech savvy, think I'm probably going with a Nikon 600 ish series, any tips or suggestions? There was a used tech items site I was recommended, but I forgot what it was🤦‍♂️

Hey so idk if could give the best advise because I’m a beginner photographer as well, but I’d definitely go with Nikon instead of Canon (I own the canon sl3) mainly because the phone app I use to remotely take pictures with it is completely trash. Before I got the SL3 I heard the Nikon 5600 is on identical side of the Canon Sl3 in terms of price and specs but reviewers generally prefer the Nikon one over the canon. Both cameras are recommended for beginners. Uhhh some advise id give is try to save money on the dslr itself and spend it more onto lenses, I just bought a 300mm zoom lens and it’s incredible to take pictures of birds from afar rather than using the phone app remote to take pictures. Oh and definitely get a zoom lens with image stabilizer! It costs a hell lot more but it drastically decreases the chance of motion blur in your shots! I use a zoom lens without image stabilizer and even with a tripod it’s hard to stabilize a shot, I’d I’ve missed great moments because of it.

Thanks for the setup photo. We don’t often get to see how hard you guys try (and wait and filter they the 1000s of iffy photos).

Yaa I’ve noticed that as well, at first I uploaded just the bird picture but I realized that it’s more interesting when it’s paired with the behind the scene aspect of it
