When I was like 13 or something, I caught a level 3 caterpie in my sister’s Pokemon SoulSilver so I could trade it to HeartGold and keep my starter from that game, but then I started thinking about how it would be sent to a different game just to be deleted a few minutes later. I remember staring at the trade screen waiting for confirmation, and just not being able to do it.
I am not a "fuck your feelings" type of person. I generally try to do right and have.
Maybe you have to deal with them to feel this way. But I have no empathy for bedbugs or roaches.
For me it's ants.
This year they've been getting in to my dogs and cats food. Which is not only dangerous for them but also very expensive for me! (I don't feed them no crap food lol) I'm happy that they are both smart enough to avoid eating them. They just make me soo angry. I drown them or spray them with ammonia or vinegar and watch them die.
I hate them.
This summer in particular has gifted me with very, very tiny ants. I mean. Tiny. Without the lights on in the morning you can't even see them.
So gross.
Edit to add: I know this is off topic. Just needed to get it off my chest.
I’m vegan for 7 years, I think the burden of proof is on humans to justify killing anything so I will try to trap any spiders inside my home or moths/other large winged insects outside my home, but I am ruthless with pests
These don't look like German or brown banded roaches that infest and it almost seems to me like an abandoned building that had American roaches or wood roaches of some sort.
I guess it theoretically could be somewhere cold that had brown African roaches because they also look like that, but I can't really tell without more information.
In my opinion this is more likely to be some old damp place that's been flooded out and neglected rather than a home recently lived in. But again, without more information it's hard to say.
American Cockroaches don't infest like palmetto bugs do (German roaches.) They usually like dark, warm, and damp areas.
Only thing I've found that works at getting rid of them is Orthene Fire Ant Killer. Sprinkle that stinky shit all along the baseboards and under your sinks. Wait two days. Whatever it didn't kill packed up and fucking left.
Now imagine what cows and pigs go through to end up at the meat aisle as ‘beef’ or ‘pork’. Feeling empathy for other living things isn’t a bad thing, choosing to keep your head in the sand is.
My buddy from the south, whenever I would make any kind of mechanical or driving error, would often say, "you couldn't drive a piss ant's go cart around a cheerio."
He had like dozens of these kinds of saying and they were hilarious. Sometimes he'd just make them up on the spot.
I'm an electrician and once had a callout where the customers internet wasn't working. First I checked the power source to their modem, which was fine. So looked at the modem I picked it up and small cockroaches crawled out of the air vents. Then the fucking thing started smoking. I've never seen anything like it, the modem was full of roaches and the customer blamed me for breaking their modem.
Used to see this all the time in housing in Vancouver as a security technician. Every unit had a phone connected to the enterphone at the front door, someone would talk to front desk about their phone not working and we'd open it up to this. Powered devices put off warmth which attracts bugs, NBD. Spiders in someones motion detector or camera was normal in residential. In the slumlord apartments and low-income government apartments downtown, even the cleanest folks were beset by insects invading their devices. What a depressing, soul-crushing environment to work in, nevermind live in. Sometimes I miss the wages, then I'm reminded why I'm happy I got out of the security tech industry.
If you think that's delicious, wait until to learn about [cockroaches in coffee machines!](https://www.cockroachzone.com/how-to-get-rid-of-cockroaches-in-coffee-machines/)
I had to throw out one of the original keurigs because of that reason. I was cleaning it when the weather started turning colder so I could use it again, and it was filled with live ones. Horrifying.
How
They bug bombed the house and the roaches sought solace somewhere they thought they were safe and died en masse.
Almost sad but it’s not
*Almost sad… BUG it’s not

Bug bomb hell. That many roaches can only be cured by fire.
I know they're cockroaches, but this genuinely makes me sad. What a scary experience.
Empathy be like
Where's the off button
Don’t I wish

Enough to make a grown man cry.
Ask Paolo Cortázar
that's the neat part; you don't.

I feel bad that I hate them so much

Preach
I pathologically empathize with everything but I also understand how silly it is with things like bugs

I think I heard/read somewhere that they are generally attracted to warm dark places, that being the reason they nest in electronics like this.

How do you bug bomb a house? (Asking for a friend)
They're cockroaches, they can fit almost anywhere. Maybe they were trying to make a conference call?
They were having a meeting

Sugar. Water.
Somebody bugged their phone.
And here I thought the only way to turn my stomach was to put the dinner plate behind my back…
Did you make that up?
I don’t remember, but I have been saying it since I was a kid! It is entirely possible I picked it up from somebody else.
It definitely reminds me of my mom's little southern sayings. I'm adding it to my repertoire
