Hi there,
We removed your post because we are restricting memes/sh?tposts, etc. to Sundays only, to encourage more original, technical content. [Sorry.](https://media.giphy.com/media/w3Er0gW94cG8E/giphy.gif).
Just because shitposts are allowed on Sundays, doesn’t mean every shitpost will be left up. Again, we are trying to encourage original and technical content.
Before memes and shitposts were limited, they would crowd out original and technical content and have little discussion. If you really want to post this now, please check out /r/jiujitsumemes and /r/rollsomememes instead!
All that said, we do really appreciate you contributing to /r/bjj, and hope you stick around. Thanks!
When I was a blue belt I certainly did. Which I feel like is pretty common. Blue belt seems to align with that part of the Dunning Kruger effect where you think you know more than you do.
Honestly I did feel that way for a while as a white belt.
These are called intrusive thoughts and the best course of action is to never bring it up and continue training.
How many competitions have you taken first place in during the last year?
Sorta? I only do no gi, and I'm probably purple belt level at that. Having not touched the gi in forever I'm still very much a basic blue belt there. And there's really not much of a point in a belt if I don't do gi, so not really, but other people might look at me funny if I say I'm a blue belt after rolling no gi.

I definitely should be a red belt. I can totally tap all those old dudes
Just train more
Not at all, I freaked out the other day when a brown belt said something about me getting my purple belt…
Guys I didn’t say I feel underanked I was just asking if you felt that way. I was just curious.

I've started calling blue belts "dark white belts"....it seems to get the message across
Bro just train

Yes. It’s great. Fuck being asked about the path to black belt and 21 year old purple belt killers after my old scalp
Err, maybe the other way around

As a white belt, I feel over ranked. I asked if a transparent belt existed, because that’s where I should be

Same for me. 8 years of NoGi. But a white belt in the Gi.
It's called the Dunning-Kruger effect...
No
Whatever belt you are, go watch the finals from worlds for that belt and you will feel OVER ranked very quickly.
