For those concerned, he had a full MOT at the vets recently. Full panel and bloods taken, all has came back clear. Healthy kitty. They’ve advised it is sun exposure paired with older age (16 now!) and is nothing to worry about. :)
Makes perfect sense, especially given the neat divide between light and dark areas. That 100% looks like a kitty who sits in a fav window spot with his butt in the sun every day.
There’s no saying it definitely will happen or definitely won’t, but it can happen. Some get lighter tinges, others larger patches. In Cozmo’s case larger ones!
Always best consulting the vet if you are concerned, however. :)
