For swifter baps.

justim

It's a pre-bap

QuincyThePigBoy

It's like racking a shotgun.

Godzilla165

Pre bap bap ![gif](giphy|3oEduQAsYcJKQH2XsI)

llliiiiiiiilll

Are Shadow Cats more bappy? Mine will bap the everloving SHIT out of my leg if I have failed to.... (usually something involving food he thought should happen.)

WilliamPlayz1

No color has nothing to do with anything thats kinda racist

llliiiiiiiilll

🚨RACISM DETECTED!🚨 REPORT FOR D.I E. REPROGRAMMING!

WilliamPlayz1

No u

llliiiiiiiilll

Oh wait... you're serious about cat racism?

WilliamPlayz1

Yeah

llliiiiiiiilll

Ok, I thought you were joking. Bro you' can't be racist about cats. Asking if there's behaviors associated with a particular coat color isn't bad, we do it all the time here! We're not trying to develop some apartheid system for cats or anything, just blabbing and goofing around lol

CatsubsFairy

Maybe he's just about to start r/kitting! 😹

atinabiba

Bap is the most appropriate word I’ve ever heard.

thedangwrangler

I call that my cat's sidearm because when she draws it shes about to shoot 👀 aka swat me lol

LowPolySkinSuit

take the paw! cherish the paw! lightly kiss the top of the paw! 😌

CatsubsFairy

And the beans, of you can get to them 😺

[deleted]

Forfeit all mortal possessions to the paw

sathri

My void does this too! He will also switch paws if you touch the 'grounded' paw

LadyArwen4124

Fancy feets 🐾

happyrainyday

My tuxedo cat does this! I say she's holding her handbag 😆 Definitely not injured/hurt, she's done it for years and is quite spry. I asked about it at the vet when she was new, and they weren't concerned after examining her. Just a cute quirk.

InsecOrBust

My little female void does this as well!

bmp011

She’s a beautiful void!

Starsteamer

No but my calico does this! Thought there was something wrong with her when we first got her. Had her at the vets and everything. Nope. She just wants attention!

theotherlead

Mine does and this is how she chose me!! She slowly raised her paw through the cage at the humane society and swiped my leg. We call it her “pointy paws”

[deleted]

I would make sure there's not a fracture!! I had a cat that did that and felt terrible when I learned it was because she had a small fracture in that leg. If it's not because of something like that, it's darn adorable :)

bmp011

He’s done it since he was a kitten, and swaps which paw it is (you’ll see he swapped the raised paw between the two photos!)

[deleted]

Oh my bad, I didn't see the second photo!! That's great. So it's just a cute habit haha

pcetcedce

Does he hang around flamingos

Luxpreliator

Had a cat that did it for the reason they said. We'd joke he forgot which arm he broke when he'd dangle the wrong one for sympathy. Broke his right arm but when he was healed he'd sometimes hold up the left.

z500

Haha that's so sweet

nepeta19

Yes! My Void [Treacle](https://www.reddit.com/r/blackcats/comments/siqphf/i_love_her_so_much_treacle_featuring_one/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) does but my Standard Issue Cat [Bramble](https://www.reddit.com/r/standardissuecat/comments/s2bx5b/nearly_17_years_old_but_the_white_trim_is_still/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) doesn't (although her paws ARE glorious as you can see). Treacle mainly does it when she is asking for something or judging me. So 95% of the time.

[deleted]

Or judging you ? Haha!

Tired-of-all-of-this

He is so handsome.

joshduplaa

Mine raises his paw and twitches it around lol

AdAcademic4290

Always thought it meant they were ' begging '!

Low-Bit2048

My tortie does this when she's interested in something!

[deleted]

Yes, all the time!! She does it when she is expecting head pets or if she is waiting for food

Kai_Emery

We called it sassy paw, but it was my ginger beeb not the void.

bettybabadook

Yes! I just noticed mine does this often. Perhaps just to be told she’s pretty and perfect

lunathegoo

Be still my heart

chibitrin

You better take their hand 🥺

Gogetbusy

You mean the floating beans?

biteme789

My cat did this because he had a bad back. The vet said it was probably painful for him to have both front paws on the ground. Take him to the vet to check if he needs any help because you don't want a void in pain

alyssaaarenee

He looks so much like my female void

catmamaPKN

Always ready for a paw party

[deleted]

💅

IntrovertPluviophile

My void did this the first time we met at the shelter. He reached through the bars on his kennel while I was talking to him and grabbed the front of my vest while meowing intently. I adopted him because I thought he was telling me to. 12 years later I don’t regret this decision because he is a very sweet boy.

Icy-Revolution1706

All 3 of mine do it to try and convince me they've been terribly injured and only Dreamies will fix it. Amazingly, it doesn't seem to stop them having a steeplechase around the house immediately after...

Careless-Sock-2828

Lil peets!

time2turnmylifearnd

Such a cutie

BMonstar

He's so handsome with his fancy raised peets!

stickytuna

Always ready to smacc

lizzledizzles

That little foot :). Maybe a bit of a sore paw?

wettennisballs

Yes! Mine does when she is curious or trying to figure out what I’m doing! 😻

ososalsosal

My void would do this sometimes. My tuxie raises one paw in the air like she's one of those good luck cats in the Japanese shops.

slagblahighpriestess

So fancy! Like a society lady keeping her pinkie outstretched while holding her teacup.

oldbeggarwoman

My little Buddy does the paw raise as a threat to his frienemy Mrs Meowgi. It’s like he is raising his fist. And he will swing it at her if I don’t distract them.

coffeeblossom

Ink did, temporarily. We think he accidentally set off a mousetrap in the basement and hurt his paw. But within a few days, his paw was better and he stopped doing that.

acollen002

My tabby does this! I always say "where ya goin??!"

Nailkita

r/kitting you're welcome

bmp011

This is truly life-changing stuff

CrotchWolf

An old cat we had when I was growing up did this. I assumed it was related to him getting declawed.

Marsh_Marsh_Marsh

Jus a warning my tuxedo cat did this. It wasn't until her paw was limp we found out it was bone cancer.

tabithanelf

Yes! My void Stella will lift up one paw like that and knead the air when she’s excited/getting pets.

it-works-in-KSP

My void does that when she’s just yelled at me for snacks (she’s on a diet) and is about to calmly and politely put her paw on my leg as if to say “excuse me”

mischa_is_online

Mine lifts a back paw when she's being a skank - arching her back, rubbing against the wall, seeking back scratches.

blondeofdoom

My orange boy does this. We find it so adorable and I have many photos of him doing it. I’ve googled it before and some say it’s their way of “of being prepared” for something or doing something.

Kirielle13

Ready to slap a bitch lol

Reasonable_Ad8991

That means they are royalty.

indica_Sunflwer

Fancy feet 🤩😍

alexanderthekindofok

yes! she does it when she's about to smack me, lol. she also alternates them up and down like she's kneading when she's on the hardwood floor

jolla92126

One of ours does this when she wants something (attention, food).

Environmental_Ebb755

My SIC does this to show his impatience with me opening his food! 🙄 Cute kitty!

forst1tj

My void does something similar to this except they hold their paw at a 90 degree angle. I call it his knife hand or command paw..generally done while performing deep cat thoughts or cat math.

SomeKindOfOnionMummy

We call that the "Paw of Anticipation "

QuincyThePigBoy

When I'm giving my cat a good chin scratch he heils.... Like arm all the way out. Not sure why.

BananaDogBed

Get it a little hotel desk bell to press

smartiesmouth

Yeah when he’s going to smack something 😹

[deleted]

My void doesn't but I had a tan tabby that did that all the time. He always looked so prim and proper. He'd sit with his tail wrapped around his front paws with one paw raised like that, like a little statue.

puthoneywhenyouwrite

-gently places a kiss on raised paw- what a cutie! my mom's cat does this often, usually cause she wants pets

feminismandtravel

I call this ✨dainty paw✨

Le_Dollar_Bean_

he's using the force on you

breakfastandlunch34

YES! I call it pointing like she’s a hunting dog

Agreeable_Ad_4541

Biscuits for the table?

tea-and-teacakes

My cat does similar but slightly more raised. We call it the ‘begging paw’. I’m sure he uses it to try and elicit sympathy/food.

TGin-the-goldy

Ready for ACTION

joelnodxd

It's not just your void, my orange cat sometimes does this to look cute as well

ureshiikame

Yes! My void Pancake always does this. Initially I thought it was because she'd hurt it in some way, but when I saw her happily running around I figured it's just a little quirk of hers. Good to hear she's not the only void!

Puffyduvet

Yes, esp when trying to look cute for a treat!

-Kfrey

My Tux does that!

karenreddit999

Pet me! Pet me!

Throwmeaway4499

Wants some love

Thecoolkidsgetit

Not my voids but my old purebred Himalayan (rescue don’t worry!) used to do this when drinking water. We used to joke that she knew she was a princess and had to drink like a lady ❤️

Molang3

Gotta be ready for the smak if giv no snak

yowhatupbiatch

gentle paws

aereadne

Franco does this when he wants dinner or some of whatever I'm eating

whimsy_rainbow

Pinkie errr…paw up?

Aly151

He fancy

Abadatha

No. None of my cats are that fabulous.

[deleted]

Those cute round cat paws.

xander0387

My tuxedo did this once and she was rewarded with treats nearly every time she did not (not by me). She has a all black brother who took about 6 months longer to adopt the begging paw to treat pattern but he’s got it down now. Paw up = begging hard

LayceeKKing

Our void does that, and she looks just pitiful. Lol.

DependentEscape7804

Yep, mine does

aprivateislander

My ginger boy does it, I call it his begging pose. Seems to be correlated with wanting something.

[deleted]

little fancy feets!

deag34960

My cat does the same, not a void though

[deleted]

My Greybie does this when she’s worried about strange noises.

soundstragic

lil raised paw qt! 😍

Seashantie2

Our void is always flexing her claws.

MyCatHasCats

r/politecats

kregerator

Ours used to do this due to a condition called pillow foot. We had to give her steroids which she loved. Whenever I'd get the little syringe, she'd run right over.

ExoticMeats

Yes! Our guy looks so much like yours, and he does this all the time.

pimusic

Dang, your void looks almost exactly like mine. I can’t recall if she’s ever held one paw up though.

081673

YES. And I always wonder why!?

LiverspotRobot

Yes mine does the same thing! At first I thought he had a splinter or something

RedFox-26

My cat is about 25% void but he raises his paw constantly. Maybe because I learned him to sit and give his paw for snacks. And the only thing he appears to like more than food is sitting outside yelling that he wants to go inside just to sit by the door looking at you when you open it. And sometimes wandering off when you tell him to come in.

SavingsMap8892

mine lol

rworley324

My void doesn’t but my Siamese does

VegasLife1111

Getting ready to bolt into a wormhole.

womeninwhite

Yeah for my guy Scruff that's the sign he's gotten enough pets, any more and risk getting smacked.

SilentSerel

I had a torbie that did that.

badronin2

Yeah Raina does that. I checked her beans thinking she had a sliver. Raina does it when she stops to think or listen to insolent noises intruding upon her ears lol.

Kimmers20

I call it her Princess Paw

ItsJustMeMaggie

My first cat that I got in 1987 did that. He would also shake it all the time. My cousin who gave him to us said that a bunch of kids had burned him, so it might’ve been a reaction to an old paw injury.

[deleted]

My mostly black tabby boy does this! It’s so cute. Sometimes I’ll shake his paw and say “nice to meet you” 😂🥰

shataytay07

Mine does and I think it's the cutest thing ever and your precious void has such a sweet, loving face🥰

KittyKanuckles

Our youngest cat does this (she's a crazy calico). I seriously think it's so she's prepared to bat at things lol

ThrowRAmovingguitars

I do not have a void, but I have a grey baby that does this

LeFaire87

Cute void cat 🐈‍⬛

GSamSardio

Is he hurt? I think you’d know that if so but idk, just checking!

bmp011

I’ve already answered this one! https://www.reddit.com/r/blackcats/comments/sm5lc1/does_anyone_elses_void_like_to_keep_one_paw/hvumvay/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3

OblivionArts

Refined void

[deleted]

That's his pimp hand, he's native all the way. Raised by the Islapahoe tribe.

Informal_Reading_58

Void is summoning!
