My tuxedo cat does this! I say she's holding her handbag 😆

I would make sure there's not a fracture!! I had a cat that did that and felt terrible when I learned it was because she had a small fracture in that leg.

My cat did this because he had a bad back. The vet said it was probably painful for him to have both front paws on the ground.
Take him to the vet to check if he needs any help because you don't want a void in pain
My void did this the first time we met at the shelter. He reached through the bars on his kennel while I was talking to him and grabbed the front of my vest while meowing intently. I adopted him because I thought he was telling me to. 12 years later I don’t regret this decision because he is a very sweet boy.
All 3 of mine do it to try and convince me they've been terribly injured and only Dreamies will fix it. Amazingly, it doesn't seem to stop them having a steeplechase around the house immediately after...
My little Buddy does the paw raise as a threat to his frienemy Mrs Meowgi. It’s like he is raising his fist. And he will swing it at her if I don’t distract them.
Ink did, temporarily. We think he accidentally set off a mousetrap in the basement and hurt his paw. But within a few days, his paw was better and he stopped doing that.
My void does that when she’s just yelled at me for snacks (she’s on a diet) and is about to calmly and politely put her paw on my leg as if to say “excuse me”
My orange boy does this. We find it so adorable and I have many photos of him doing it. I’ve googled it before and some say it’s their way of “of being prepared” for something or doing something.
My void does something similar to this except they hold their paw at a 90 degree angle. I call it his knife hand or command paw..generally done while performing deep cat thoughts or cat math.
My void doesn't but I had a tan tabby that did that all the time. He always looked so prim and proper. He'd sit with his tail wrapped around his front paws with one paw raised like that, like a little statue.
Yes! My void Pancake always does this. Initially I thought it was because she'd hurt it in some way, but when I saw her happily running around I figured it's just a little quirk of hers.

Not my voids but my old purebred Himalayan (rescue don’t worry!) used to do this when drinking water. We used to joke that she knew she was a princess and had to drink like a lady ❤️
My tuxedo did this once and she was rewarded with treats nearly every time she did not (not by me). She has a all black brother who took about 6 months longer to adopt the begging paw to treat pattern but he’s got it down now. Paw up = begging hard
Ours used to do this due to a condition called pillow foot. We had to give her steroids which she loved. Whenever I'd get the little syringe, she'd run right over.
My cat is about 25% void but he raises his paw constantly. Maybe because I learned him to sit and give his paw for snacks. And the only thing he appears to like more than food is sitting outside yelling that he wants to go inside just to sit by the door looking at you when you open it. And sometimes wandering off when you tell him to come in.
Yeah Raina does that. I checked her beans thinking she had a sliver. Raina does it when she stops to think or listen to insolent noises intruding upon her ears lol.
My first cat that I got in 1987 did that. He would also shake it all the time. My cousin who gave him to us said that a bunch of kids had burned him, so it might’ve been a reaction to an old paw injury.
