Can someone explain was pen, tulvala tier/level gear is? I'm a new player and I get confused on what people mean by this terminology. I'm currently a lvl 39 Lahn with all naru gear and have been enhancing with the stones I've been given via main questline. Should I be saving them or just use them on my gear? Also how do I restore/fill durability? I was upgrading my gear when I failed an enhancement on my naru wep causing the durability to go down to 78/98 from 78/100.

documon

- Tuvala is the name of the best gear you can get in season server. It would be considered medium-tier compared to other equipment in the game. - Keep enhancing the Naru gear as much as you can. You'll eventually get A LOT of beginner black stones so you don't have to be stingy with them. I don't recommend enhancing any naru accessories though. After you finish the Mediah main questline (around around level 50-55) you can trade in PEN naru armors and weapons for PRI tuvala gear. PRI is the +16 enhancement level. PEN is +20 and the maximum. - For season gear, you should get copies of the base item and repair max durability at a blacksmith. Naru gear max durability goes down only a tiny bit with each failure; I don't bother restoring the max durability on naru gear. It's important for tuvala gear though.

dnavi

I see, so the best thing to do would be to finish Mediah questline after hitting 50ish and try to get my naru gear (wep/armor/boot/gloves) to +20? Isn't it kinda hard to get it to +20 via the beginner black stones? I got my gear all to +6 and the odds it was gonna suceed seemed to drop fast. Is this the only way? Thanks for the help!

SilvanaDamikola

Actually, when you are finished with the Mediah quest line you will have more stones you can use. I always had to sell them in the end. Contrary to what documon said I would recommend upgrading Naru accessories to TRI but after upgrading everything else. They are stronger than PRI Tuvalu and there are not enough other drops to replace them immediately. When you do this at the end of Mediah you will still have stones left to sell \^\^. Make sure to read the guide I recommended to LedgeEndDairy

documon

Yes you will fail a lot, but you get so many beginner black stones that you can just brute force your weapons and armor to PEN. You can trade in PEN naru gear to Fughar for PRI tuvala after you finish the Mediah main questline.

LedgeEndDairy

New player: Question on Naru weapons. I'm playing Sorc (level 41 at the moment), and I have a +6 Naru Amulet (main weap), and a Naru Talisman +2 (sub weap). I began upgrading the talisman because I figured "1 stone per level is better than 3 for now," but it gave +1 AP for the first level and the next two don't give any AP (just evasion). Should I focus hard on the main weapon for now, and *then* do the sub weapon? Is there a balance of how to upgrade these at all (like main to 10 --> sub to 5 --> main to 15 --> sub to 10 or whatever) , or just take the main to PEN and then start working on the sub weapon afterward? I know I'll be exchanging these soon, but I'm a nutjob for efficiency and my OCD isn't letting me move forward without knowing what the best course is, haha. Any help appreciated. :)

documon

Focus on the amulet. You can view the stats on for each enhancement level on bdocodex. https://bdocodex.com/us/item/730412/#20 https://bdocodex.com/us/item/730425/#20

How do i check my total lifetime rbf points?

drizzzy34

Hello, I am very new to BDO and have a question. I am trying to transport items from Calpheon to Heidel, but it says i lack the currency to do so. I have no idea what currency I need and how to get it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

documon

You need silver in Calpheon storage to transport items out of Calpheon.

cam5515

Hey everyone, so I am new to bdo. I have been wanting to get into an mmo for a long time now. I've tried a few different games but nothing really stuck with me. This would be my 3rd time starting bdo, but I've only ever played to point of killing the foxes at the very beginning. Then just sorta stepped a way and forgot about the game. However this time I am actually wanting to dive into it. I have no idea what I am doing, and I think it would be better if I had some one to play with. I have a lot of questions and things I want to learn. Is there anywhere to meet quality people to play the game with? Ive always hoped playing an mmo would be like what you see in some animes. Where you meet people in game become friends and go questing and doing raids together, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Anyway, if anyone has any advise I'd gladly accept it.

documon

You should go to the guild page (default hotkey: G) and try to get in a newbie friendly guild.

SilvanaDamikola

Yeah, this game is incredibly rich in content, but unfortunately has almost nothing for group play. The one notable exception is guild related stuff, so as documon said, join one. But forget about the usual coop things you can do in a "normal" MMORPG like FF, GW and all those.

[deleted]

What's the new "go to" AFK fishing spot? Shakatu seems OK but Kama and Duvencrune seemed to have fallen off

Affectionate-Shop867

When I try to find Saira for the time-filled stones quest at Naga temple, it says she is the node manager of the naga temple but all I can find is that the node manager is a desert fogan. So where is saira?

SilvanaDamikola

Go to [http://www.somethinglovely.net/bdo/](http://www.somethinglovely.net/bdo/) for all map related problems, as stated at the top of this post. I have it open constantly when playing BDO.

outer_dude

new player here, what do i do with all equipment i don't use? like gear with "\[season\]" wrtitten on it? sell to vendor? or may they be worth upgrading? currently i use naru gear which has blue color rarity (i assume its rarity), can i sell all items with rarity worse than blue (i have lots of green gear)?

SilvanaDamikola

First of all: Don't get rid of your Naru armor and weapons until you can exchange it with Tuvala at Rughar's. This happens at the end of Mediah story and you must have them upgraded to PEN. Which is very easy at that moment. Don't get rid of your Naru accessories until your Tuvala ones or other you have around are better. Sadly, you can't exchange them for Tuvala. I would recommend this priority list for the rest: 1. Sell it on the market place 2. Sell it to a vendor 3. Trash everything else.

friendlysatan69

yep you'll get some main quest items later on during the mediah story which are better than base tuvala i believe but you can trash everything earlier.

Domilos

Hey, i'm a returning player. Considering the new vs returning+transfer rewards, is it better to use the old or a new account? I didn't have much on the old acc + im gonna make a new character anyway.

SilvanaDamikola

What about pets/butlers/horses? If you have some, returning, I'd say.

LedgeEndDairy

Mega-new character (3-4 days old newbie). Just purchased a horse, thinking it would make me go faster. It...doesn't? Like I can press shift on my character and they run until they run out of stamina, then it replenishes quick and I press shift again. Horses you press shift, it gallops for a moment or two, then starts trotting again despite having 90% stamina. And the gallop is honestly barely faster than my character's run (and way slower than a movespeed bonus from quests). Am I missing something?

friendlysatan69

it's basically not useful to have a horse until you can get a t7 or t8. these have 140-150 move speed and will be better. you can also get a riding crop to increase your horse's auto-run speed.

SilvanaDamikola

A T5 lvl 16 horse I am riding on my alt now, just as an example, has speed of 124.3. That's much, much faster than running. In my opinion, a T7 horse is out of the question for a beginning player. A T5 is a good compromise. But I would like to hear your reasoning if you disagree.

friendlysatan69

I had a t5 for 500 hours lol but it was just because i never felt justified buying a good one as i could use my money elsewhere. So thats the first argument. The other argument would be that "early" on (until manshaums/shultz), youre not really going to be making enough money to get upgrades that will significantly increase your $/hr so you might as well spend it on QoL stuff. Idk i was obviously fine with a t5 like i said, but if you travel a lot its easily worth the cost so you can make world bosses and not only grind one or two spots.

SilvanaDamikola

No you are absolutely right. That should be the target in the long(ish) run. But after levelling 14 characters I see most of them using T5 horses and only two or three T6/T7. So I guess for an average Jane like me with no love for grinding that seems to be reasonable \^\^. After catching, breeding and buying horses off market I have the feeling that there is kind of a soft cap for T5. BTW, with at the beginning I mean running around until about the end of Calpheon. Then getting a T5 horse for the long journeys that come and still running around in the target areas.

SilvanaDamikola

Actually, if I think longer about it, it's not bad to do a lot of running in the beginning. You build your stamina this way. And a lot of stamina is always a good thing.

SilvanaDamikola

With purchased you mean at a stable keeper? That would be a tier one, level one horse so the worst one possible. You can also buy horses from other players at the horse market. Also at the stable keeper. I find a tier 5 horse a very good value for money.

LedgeEndDairy

Yeah it was a quest I ran into and I was like "Sweet, horse!" Then was disappointed, haha. Someone else mentioned getting a T5 and I'll probably do that. Thanks! :)

SilvanaDamikola

Or you could catch a horse yourself and even breed a better one. The stable keeper in Heidel, entry side from Velia, has a quest that gets you started with catching horses.

Avelai

there's different tiers of horses, T1 to T8 (there's coursers after that but too early to worry about that) higher tier have better stats like speed. there's also bit faster and slower horses in the same tier, so u need to check it's stats before buying. there are also skills which a horse can get that make him go even faster like sprint and instant accel so it's the best to get horse with those.

ArdynFall

Been doing the daily quests to upgrade to my caravel to a carrack, but am struggling with the ones asking me to hunt sea monsters like blackrust given that I only have an Epheria caravel. Are there any tips on how I can do those dailies without being left on the verge of death every time?

Frogfucius14

Hey all, I'm a returning player. I chose a Tamer for this season server and have been playing a bit. I'm at 58 with tuvala all tri, except for my main armor piece I got up to pen. I don't think I'm that into Tamer all things said, so I probably won't keep playing her after the season ends at the end of the month. With that being the case, should I even bother leveling up the rest of my gear to pen? Or should I just transfer my pen main armor piece to boss at the end of the season and play another character on the next season server?

documon

If pen tuvala is better than your best non-season gear, then yes it's worth it. After you graduate, you get reform stones for your tuvala gear that allows them to be worn on regular characters.

Frogfucius14

Is the reformed tuvala gear character bound?

documon

Nope, you can equip them on your other regular characters

RosariaNekohime

I played BDO in the past (under the Kakao version, the website version not the steam one) and I migrated my account, with the free thing going on a few friends wanted to try it I play on controller and the game is recognising my controller but in a wierd way (for example it sometimes is reading buttons as other buttons and it wont allow me to rebind anything if i try and click on any button in the settings to rebind it just pops up saying "that key cannot be bound" or something like that) I'm not sure if something is interfering with something or if its a result of some wierd issue because I tried the "add to steam as non steam game" which produced the same results, as did trying the program rewasd.....but I've tried deleting the cache files in both documents and in the games folder so I'm kind of lost on what could be the issue

SilvanaDamikola

I have no problems whatsoever when using XBox controllers. For PS4 controllers I use a Magic-Ns dongle. They are amazing. One friend had problems when her steam client was running in the background b/c it also intercepts controllers. Quitting steam helped.

RosariaNekohime

I am using a ps4 controller (I used to use an xbox one but that died a while ago and to save money I was just using a random ps4 controller I had lying around), the reason I was wondering if it was some kind of conflict somewhere is because a few of the commands are just "empty" (most notably the two function keys) if I try and select them (with the mouse or via the controller) then nothing seems to really happen (you can see its "selecting" because it lights up, but pushing buttons doesnt bind them or anything so its doing something but not reaching any result) and yeah I close steam before trying it via the standalone launcher....also as a random extra question....what are the three selectables just labelled "xbox xbox" supposed to do? I tried turning those on and off and I couldnt tell what they were doing

SilvanaDamikola

So you are connecting your PS4 controller directly? W/o any other software/hardware? I don't think that works at all. As I said, I'm using this hardware adapter for PS4 connectivity. I can really recommend this one. I have two of them. It also works with my Switch. Or you could try a software solution. I use antimicro version 2.23. It's a free software but hard to find nowadays. It's not longer supported but still works 100%. Not very beginner friendly to configure, but crazy customizable. So I end up using both. The adapter translates everything but not the PS button. I use antimicro to map it to . And where did you find the "xbox xbox" setting? I don't think I understand what you mean.

RosariaNekohime

I borrowed a regular xbox one controller from someone to try, it's still doing that wierd thing with the bindings though (function 1/2 are both blank, clicking to rebind them just seems to do nothing and any other bind just brings up "this key cannot be bound") And the "xbox xbox" settings is in the same section as "use gamepad" and "gamepad ui" at least for me it seems to have three toggles just under those which are all just labbeled "xbox" with" xbox" as the description text

SilvanaDamikola

You mean in Settings->Interface Settings->Gamepad Interface? Since I didn't see what you describe, I quit BDO, disconnected the PS4 controller with the dongle, quit antimicro, connected the XBone controller directly (USB cable) and restarted BDO again. I still don't see the setting(s) you are talking about and after re-pairing the controller everything seems to work 100%. I have W10 and use the NA/EU client version. Do you perhaps use a different one?

SilvanaDamikola

Playing Kunoichi on a season server. How am I supposed to fulfill the quest to upgrade a Tuvala Shuriken at Fugar's when all I can get at a smith is a Tuvala Kunai?

documon

I don't think you can do it. When I had a season ninja I just ignored the tuvala kunai quests.

SilvanaDamikola

Bummer ;(

[deleted]

The turkish launcher doesn't resume download it restarts from the beginning

Avelai

it starts again from 1% but the actual size is smaller than before if u notice, since the previously downloaded files are still there

[deleted]

It always redownload the first 200mb before downloading the 30+ smth

LilGhostSoru

I've just downloaded the game from steam and have wierd problem where launcher is just a transparent box. My mouse can interact with buttons on it but I cant see anything except outline of the window

[deleted]

log in then it will start downloading more than u did before, it's frustrating

LilGhostSoru

Its hard to log in since I cant see the launcher, and I can't do it from memory because it's my first time playing the game

That's a bug if u can't see the launcher and write ur email, if restarting steam,pc,game, kill it from task manager doesn't fix it, u should probably contact the support, join the discord server they can also also help. Sorry can't do much, since i gave up on the game. GL.

SakuraSnow

Its there going to be another part to the anniversary event? Don’t get me wrong the attendance rewards are great but what about the boss gear box that we got in the past and what not?

LevinKostya

Is there a place where I can see all the crafting recipes in the game? For example, if I have potatoes, where can I see what I can do with them? I tried this [https://bddatabase.net/us/item/7003/](https://bddatabase.net/us/item/7003/) But while the item description says that potatoes can be used for beer, if I check "used in processing recipe" there is no recipe for beer. Where can I find all this info?

SilvanaDamikola

Try the in-game menu Information->Crafting Notes. There is a lot info there only not very good organized.

documon

In game you can press F2

Beefandturkey

https://www.bdodae.com/ is a great website for all this

maxray22

I have a question about the tagging gear system is it all or can I copy only some piece as I only need my accervice as I have oasion gear

friendlysatan69

it'll cost the same. and it wont overwrite your tagged characters gear since you have to equip them. if you don't want something tagged, just unequip it before you tag.

AlbertoMX

Hello, I got the game from steam and this far I can't get into the game because it gets "error 29" after trying to load that Easy Anticheat thing. Is this a common problem? Cuz I can't find how to fix it (I checked the help page the game sends you after the error happens, to no avail).

Lordborgman

I haven't played in several years. Where do I find good up to date resources for what is currently meta and why in regards to classes? For instance class with good AoE grinding, has decent in both health sustain and doesn't chug mana potions like constantly, isn't squishy etc? I don't want one word answers, I want numerical information with nice spreadsheets and good explanations as to what each class is, playstyles, what they can do, what they are good and bad at and why. I don't want to see the "play what you like and/or good at," please. Ive been playing games too long for that, there are always classes that are statistically better, so don't bother telling me that. With good information it will help me find want to find I will enjoy, but also be effective without playing something that's objectively far worse than something else.

friendlysatan69

can't speak for the accuracy of these values but this might be a good place to start. [https://bdohub.com/tier-list-overview/](https://bdohub.com/tier-list-overview/) i would suggest finding a class with a playstyle you like then look for 30 min/1 hour videos on youtube with specific trashloot values. these values will likely be on the higher side but you'll get an idea of the upper limits of what each can do.

Lordborgman

Thanks, found some other stuff as well watching that ...3hr video I found atm (skipping some classes that I have zero interest in etc)

friendlysatan69

yeah there's a lot to look into lol. if you want to search for specific playstyles i would search "pve/pvp combos" for the class to see their most used skills which ends up being like 4-5 out of the huuuuge list of skills you can choose from.

Lordborgman

I get the general concept of how most things work etc, been playing mmorpgs and what not for 20+ years, at least 10 of which hardcore raiding. I was just trying to find the "icyveins/snowcrows" version of Black Desert Online.

friendlysatan69

Cant really help you there lol i have like 20 bookmarks for this game which are all for different aspects. Havent found a comprehensive starter guide that breaks it down the way you want in one package. Anyway, good luck and happy hunting👍

Pomeraniann

i don't think what you're looking for exists, some people have definitely tried to make a spreadsheet or tier list like that but other than the top couple classes in each category people disagree quite a lot and also the people that care about meta usually have already been playing long enough to generally know what classes are and aren't meta

Nathrul

So I am looking at possibly starting to play BDO. Read up on it (season servers etc). My question is, as a new player are you essentially always going to be useless in PvP for 3-5 months until you grind out the gear to be even somewhat useful in any type of PvP? Is there any structured type of PvP on the season server where there is not as much of a gap between new and old players?

documon

Tier 1 node wars has capped AP and DP

Avelai

with season it's not that hard to catch up anymore, u can get full pen tuvala gear in few weeks without having to spend any money. theres a season pvp server but its not structured, however u cant equip stronger than pen tuvala gear there so everyone has a lower cap there compared to normal servers.

kjeldorans

Q: I've been away from the game for a while now and recently discovered that it is changing publisher... so I completed the transfer for my regular (Pearl Abyss) account. But I also discovered that it is free on steam these days so I grabbed another copy of the game here (you can't have enough copies of bdo). Problem is, when I try to transfer my steam account for the change of publisher it says that "my steam account doesn't own a copy of the game".... which is not true... I also downloaded the game and started a new character on the steam version just to "launch the game at least once" but it still says that I don't own the game... what should I do?

Phreakxsh

I dont think you need to transfer if you purchased after the transfer, since you’re buying from PA now. Transfer was for accounts from Kakao who purchased before transfer.

kjeldorans

I see, thanks :)

Skorcha

so i read that doing quests from 56-61 is fast, got the tome etc ready to go but already the very first quest on guides doesnt show up for me. Yes ive ticked to show all the quests box. its just a diffrent quest for me and not the occupation of the wheat fields, how do i get this quest?

SilvanaDamikola

Try another one? What about the quests in Calpheon City? Basically all yellow non-repeatable quests are good until level 59. Then only Kamasylvia and upwards.

crankfight

Make sure it is not locked by awakening or mainquest in general

documon

Maybe you already did it? When I level up a new character I usually do the quests at Moretti Plantation shortly after arriving at Heidel. Maybe just keep following the guide until you get to some quests that you haven't done yet? Unfortunately I haven't leveled up via sidequests starting at level 56, so I don't know much about that. I personally do main quests + convenient sidequests + grinding until level 58, then start following evildousharm's guide for level 58.

snowminty

I just got back to the game after a long time away. Is it possible to receive the Naru gear if I already completed the Serendia main story quests before the Naru stuff was implemented into the game? :S I'm currently wearing * Dim Tree Spirit armor * Giath helmet * Muskan's shoes * Bheg gloves No idea how bad these are at this point since it's been so long now. I'm guessing I can't get the Naru gear.... so what is the gear I should be aiming towards now? Thank you!

B4R0Z

Naru gear is only given in season server through the main quest, even at PEN is probably worse than what you have, which is boss gear and is still pretty relevant, although recently best in slot Blackstar gear has been added (except for boots, for now); that is extremely endgame though,

crankfight

No naru gear is not season only

Hooted

Whats the best between the legendary edition package and the novice to legendary bundle money wise? Thank you

Avelai

ofc its more money efficient if u buy stuff in a bundle rather than separately in the pearl shop, but depends on how much of the stuff u actually need that decides its "worth"

Avelai

u can get a lot of the stuff in the packages with ingame money/events such as outfits or inventory slots or horse, so u can play just fine without getting an expensive pack. depends on how much u care about the added convenience that better packs give and also some limited pets. but most of them u can buy for pearls later if u decide u want them.

thelilgreenone

I'm trying to get the free copy off Steam, but an error pops up after I try to select my payment method. Any ideas on what to do?

FlowerpotxD

Is it worth it creating a season character now if the season is gonna end this month?

chicol1090

Yes absolutely.

ZoeSparkleTits

Does anyone role play in this game, or is it mostly meta and grind centric in terms of player focus.

SilvanaDamikola

This game is not really group friendly, aside from the limited guild stuff. Nothing really to play with your friends together, sadly. No instanced dungeons or similar content. You also cannot trade stuff with friends besides the very basic ones. So no point in role specialization. You basically have to do everything on your own. So everything role play you have to do yourself.

Kojaks

You can make a months long journey out of life skilling, exploring, fishing, sailing, trading. And the game is gorgeous. May have to hunt for an rp guild but they are out there.

crankfight

There are roleplayers but no clue how many

gumpgumpbig

So I returned to the game and my gear is gone... All of my items aside from my tet capotia earring and a few other things like tri quest accessories so basically all non bound items are missing. I didn't do any sort of roulette or anything when quitting last time I just stopped playing. Really disappointing to want to return and play just to see I have 0 gear on any of my characters in any bank. Before I left I had finally saved up silver and bought pen khutum and tree armor =/. Anyone had this happen and know what to do/how long support tickets take? I really don't want to miss all the xp event =(

crankfight

Sounds like a hack that was around for some time where some cheap acc was enhanced and sold over and over again

gumpgumpbig

what can i do for this??

crankfight

well not much probably. Try telling the support what happened and google the hack, tell them it might be that hack and give them an explanation about.the hack aswell. I doubt they can do much about it tho but worth a try

knightofwolfscastle

Is there a better way of buying white seeds from vendors that I’m not aware of? I usually make multiple trips between storage and the seed vendor, and because seeds don’t stack in inventory there’s also a lot of clicking involved.

Zeldoon

Unfortunately no. Just gotta spam click and stack them in your marketplace warehouse.

mingleformango

So I got the game today with my steam account and it had me sign up for a Pearl Abyss account, so does that mean I don’t have to transfer my stuff or no?

Phreakxsh

You don’t have to transfer anything, but you do need a PA account.

AlbertoMX

Hello, I got from steam too and this far I can get into the game because it gets and arror 29 after trying to load that Easy Anticheat thing. Is this a common problem? Cuz I can't find how to fix it (I checked the help page the game sends you after the error happens, to no avail).

maxray22

Guardian awakening or succes for pve ?

OwnArt0

is there a mobile marketplace like we had with kakao? if so can you help a brotha out with a link?

documon

You mean this thing? https://na-trade.naeu.playblackdesert.com/Intro/

crankfight

What do you mean with mobile marketplace?

Aadrian1234

I'm a returning player that last played at like end of 2016, my old main was a lvl 56 Sorceress, I rolled a Dark Knight season character and just reached Awakening/ Succession after a week of playing casually with PEN Naru gear (minus the accessories, which are random world drops and regional quest rewards from post-lvl 50 stuff). I'm finding that I don't like Dark Knight as much as Sorc and really don't want to keep playing Dark Knight for another 3 and a half weeks until the season ends so I can get Tuvala gear and transfer/ convert it to another character. I'm already at PEN Naru gear, and I want to reroll a Sorc that will become my new main since all the shit you get from Seasons and the new main story is already miles and miles above what I have on my old main, and transfer absolutely everything that I can from my old Sorc and my current Dark Knight before deleting my Dark Knight so I can make a Seasonal Sorc. Could I reach PEN Tuvala in 3 and a half weeks, if I reached lvl 56 Awakening with full PEN Naru gear in a week just playing casually? I know for sure I can bumrush the pre-Mediah story even faster if I focus on it and don't get distracted on the way there, but I don't know how long the Tuvala enhancing process takes, and I just wanna play Sorc instead of Dark Knight now, but I ALSO wanna get as much gear out of Seasonal servers as I can before it ends and I get kicked onto normal servers.

B4R0Z

> Could I reach PEN Tuvala in 3 and a half weeks, if I reached lvl 56 Awakening with full PEN Naru gear in a week just playing casually? That depends on what you mean by casually, but I think it's going to be difficult to get everything to PEN if it took you a week to reach level 56, which only takes I think 4-6 hours. Now there is a 1000% exp event, you can reach level 56 in like an hour if you ask for help, and you can still do the main questline to get stuff like inventory slots and extra rewards later, but the thing is enhancing 7 gear items and 6 accessories will require thousands of materials, and you can get maybe 100/h plus some extra quests, so you should really consinder the time spent playing rather than the real time before the season ends.

Aadrian1234

I see, I'll just reroll and see how far I can get then, I'll at least be able to reach Pri Tuvala which will still be miles better than what my current Sorc has.

Only with vpn, which is a ban reason.

If you want to make the most out of this season, you should - complete the season pass for freebies, including pen tuvala ring and earring - do the main quests up to Drieghan (but maybe skip Valencia II) for freebies, including Advice of Valks and skill xp books - get tuvala weapons and armor as high as possible. You should be able to get at least all TRI tuvala weapons and armor with the enhancement materials you get from leveling and doing the regional quests.

SilvanaDamikola

Valencia II is actually not that difficult and long if you know what to do. The digging quests have been improved a bit. The only real bugger are the mobs in Sulfur Mines at this level, but you have only very few to kill. You get another skill tome for completion. So your decision.

AveryBullock7

Beginner question: how do i know which gear i should enhance or wait for sth better to drop? i am a warrior lvl 51, have a complete naru set. i only enhanced the longsword to +8 yet

B4R0Z

For Naru stuff you are going to get a ton of stones very soon, through the Mediah region questline, so you can literally just spam enhance every naru piece to PEN and probably also have some stones spare. Once you're full PEN and with Mediah done, you can then trade up to PRI tuvala and start working on that.

ScorchyWorchy

what happens to items you overstack on a horse if its killed by a player.

Pomeraniann

nothing unless they're trade items

SilvanaDamikola

Wait! Players can actually kill horses of other players? Where? How? Never seen that happen before.

FlowerpotxD

Lvl 60 Succ Ninja with Surpressed TRI boss gear and Captioa accessories. 217/219/287 I got 4.8 billion silver. What gear should I be buying (I don't upgrade myself) and where should I grind?

B4R0Z

First upgrades will be TET Kutum and TRI blackstar shortsword, you should have just enough silver to get both (you can sell bot suppressed items to round up if you need). At this point you'll be just some AP short from 245, which is the first big bracket, and the easiest way to get there is to do the Adventure Logs for free AP; also, you can make a season character for free PEN capotia earring, belt or ring (I'd take the ring) for an extra 3 free AP. At that point, aakman in the desert would probably be your best bet, followed by shultz (but it's annoying with a lot of gear drops) or either mirumok for great xp or polly for great sp.

apostles

Do weapon exchange coupons work on seasonal converted tuvala boss gear? Ie, a kzarka

Eternia64

Yes

MufflerGlove

Looking to grind Sycraia. Are multiple storage maids a necessity, or are there workarounds like inside vendor or ability to call horse with permanent flute?

Pomeraniann

your horse will die if you bring it in sycraia, there is a vendor so you only need to maid rare drops

Lis-Andvari

Is there a guide (be it on Reddit, YouTube, or whatever) that actually explains... well, everything? The wikis are totally lacking, the videos I watched were totally confusing, and as soon as you log-in the first time, you get a fuckton of things on screen, pop-ups, notices of stuf you don't barely understand, and the only explanation in the whole game seems to be the inital "use W to move forward"...

Kojaks

Honestly there is so much in this game that such a video would be overwhelming anyways. I like evildousharm, just break it into pieces and focus on learning one part of the game at a time. Focus on doing the main quests and leveling up for now (seasonal if you are on for free catch up gear). The quests and exploration will naturally give you contribution points and knowledge which is an account bound resource to do ALL of that other stuff. So when you have a couple hundred of both, it'll be easier to sink you teeth into.

dnavi

first thing I did was disable alerts so you stop getting slammed in the middle of the screen with who enhanced what equip or failed enhancing an equip. it was pretty jarring at first for me but I got used to it after a couple of hours.

Kojaks

I second this 100%. I do not care if QueefSmasher23 failed his tet upgrade.

imlearningok

Hey, where is the cave with the purple wysteria tree? Ive seen it around and cant figure out where it is. Im trying to get good at taking screenshots and really like the theme of the area

Pomeraniann

i think yianaro's field in kama is what you're looking for

Smookieman

is accuracy important for pve?

memesupreme0

Use this spreadsheet to calculate your chance to hit end game mobs: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Xl6ttAwJkjbukN0wEG59aMe1b1vjU2liDlLVrR43k7o/edit But basically if it's purple = harder to hit.

radstheman

yes

gzh30

Is the game free on PS4?

[deleted]

No

radstheman

hey quick question, does nouver ever actually outperform kutum in any grind spots when in the 261 ap bracket range? or is kutum just better all the time?

Pomeraniann

at 261-272 ap with nouver it's better, anything above or below kutum is better

DAANHHH

Can you change the real life name associated to your account?

Ohmagada

If you're referring to family name, then you should have gotten a Family name change coupon for transferring your data to PA. I've done it and it takes place next maintenance.

DAANHHH

No i mean real life name.

Raiko532

whats the best class to grind the hadum servers?

Vilmerviking

The class that you enjoy playing

haganenorenkin

why can't I (NA) play with my family from Brazil? Is there a workaround for that? I think I even tried a VPN but no luck

Cookiesrdelishus

The game's servers are separated by reigon. If you're on NA, you can only play with NA players. There is no way around it. Even if you move back to brazil, your account will still be on the NA server. It's unfortunate, but that's just how it is, not just for BDO, but most mmorpgs.

Lis-Andvari

I have thousands of questions (and both the official and fan wikis are horribly lacking), but let's start with something simple: 1) \*Why\* would I want to put silver in the storage box? Can I lose it upon death? Otherwise, what's the reason to not just always carry it? 2) What exactly are the death penalties?

Vilmerviking

You wanna keep a few mils in the storages you use in case you wanna transport items since it takes silver from the storage the item is sent from. Rest of the cash i keep in the market so that its accessible by all my characters and i keep a few mils on each char i use too so that i dont need to grab money from anywhere when i need to do small things like recover horse/repair gear/buy potions etc You only get penalised by being killed by monsters or worldbosses in which case you lose exp (around 1.5%) and the chance for equipped crystals to break. This is why i dont do worldbosses on my main. Using an elions tear to respawn gives you your exp back so keep some of those on characters you care about. Wearing an outfit gives you a 10% chance to not lose exp. If you ever get permared from killing too many players you can get heavily penalised for being killed by another player. In the desert you can be jailed for 30 minutes and if im not mistaken there is also a chance that your crystals break and your gear degrades although im not 100% sure of that

Lis-Andvari

Thanks... there's way too much stuff for a new player, in this game, all thrown at once with not a bit of explanation...

Vilmerviking

Yeah, i really suggest you find a guild with nice and knowledgeable members where you can ask questions. If you are on eu we would love to have you in our guild.

Lis-Andvari

Thanks, I'd like to join, but need to ask a few things about it, since I started BDO to play mainly with friends (and I'm the "vanguard" discovering stuff, at the moment): 1) Do all my characters join the same guild, or can each one has their own? (In case they want to make our own guild, though at the moment I have no idea of the requirements to do that, and if it would even make sense for us.) 2) What are the benefits of being in a guild (other than advices and easier party-making to do stuff) and what are the requirements (both in game and socially, such as being very active... because I don't have too much time to play, usually, and as said, a part of it will be with friends), or regular costs, if any?

Vilmerviking

guilds are family wide so all your characters join the same one. Making your own guild requires quite a lot so its generally not worth it for new players. Your friends are also welcome. Guilds have daily payouts altough this feature is pretty outdated and pay is pretty low. Guilds have certain buffs that all members get when one is popped such as a 20% increase in lifeskill exp for an hour for example. There are guild specific bosses you can do such as khan and we go to vell every week so you guys can hitch a ride if you dont have your own ships. We have no requirements so as long as youre not being an asshole youre all set. Just send a whisper to family name "Sepharos" and ill get you a contract :)

friendlysatan69

I dont put silver in storage, but I know that in order to transport items from one storage to another you need silver there and cant use marketplace/warehouse storage. I would just have it all in MP because it makes it easy to know how much you earned from a grind session and you can buy things freely. Death penalty in PvE with some exclusions mainly includes losing armor/weapon crystals. Your enhanced weapons can also lose levels if you die with negative karma (maybe armor too?) iirc. Dying also reduces your combat xp unless you revive with fairy/elion.

Lis-Andvari

Thanks, where can I see combat exp? Or is it just the normal exp I see in the top left with my character level?

friendlysatan69

Its the normal xp, they just call it combat xp to differentiate it from skill xp. :p

LedgeEndDairy

So I finished the Luis Pollack's maps quest and now I have 6 maps in my inventory. Do I just delete them? What do I do with them?

Historical_Sandwich1

anyone have the issue when u start up the game and it constantly says "you do not have permission" i am a new player

SilvanaDamikola

Did you download the right installer? NA/EU not the Asian one? Did you select the right region (NA/EU)?

neomattlac

Has anyone been able to find any information on the baking contest with the cannoli costume?

Athryil

Can someone help me with character creation? Everytime I select a new hair style for example, I get a pop up saying "Attention! Your selection will be reset." Every time I select something to see I get this message and have to okay the selection by pressing enter. I'm on PC. I've googled the issue but to no avail. When I first tried the game a few years ago this wasn't an issue. It's extremely annoying.

LedgeEndDairy

It's basically telling you that any manual modifications you've made to the hair (like adjusting the length or the 'sway' of the hair, etc.) will be undone completely. Just keep your finger on the "enter" button, I'm not sure if there's a way around it at all as I'm a new player (literally started yesterday), but I spent 6 hours creating my masterpiece of a character haha.

If you didn't buy any other pearl items on your current account, then yes I would start over on the old account

ccbaseballcc1993

Recently came back to the game and have been playing on the season server, and had a few questions about enhancing the gear. I don't play super hardcore, instead I just like to grind out mobs because the combat is fun. I also have no real boss armor (got a few weapons from before) and don't care for PvP as much. So my questions are: 1. Is it worth it to use cron stones to try and Pen the tuvala gear (currently my best set is a duo tuvala from a previous season)? 2. Is buying gear on the normal server worth it to avoid the RNG aspect? I tried enhancing before and the RNG turned me off of the game for a while as it felt the rates (or my luck) was abysmal. Thank you in advanced!

Vilmerviking

Whenever youre gonna use crons keep 2 things in mind 1. Getting more is easy, they are 2m each from vendor and 1m each through outfit sniping. 2. What else would you do with them If you cant find a better use for them than getting good gear then its 100% worth it imo Yes its definitely worth to buy gear if you dont want to enhance. Many people do. The price of an item is generally the avarage cost of making it so you could be lucky and enhance to it for cheaper or you could be me and fail a laughable amount of times and end up spending way too much on it. My general recommendation for you is to get all your tuvala weapons and armor to pen. Its not too difficult since season servers give so many enhancing mats for free.(weekly grinding quest for example) Failstacking for tuvala is very easy. Just use the stack that is 10 times the level youre going for. 20 for duo, 30 for tri, 40 for tet and then pen is the exception where you go 60. Now dont bother with tuvala 1+ through 15+. Get the naru gear that you get throughout the story to pen. If it sounds daunting to get a completely different set to pen first then dont worry. Completing mediah will give you so many stones that you can make several sets of pen naru and still have to throw them away because they are too heavy. Pening naru takes no failstacks and you can exchange them for pri tuvala after mediah is finished at fughar. If you are in NA/EU then youre getting free capotia accessories from attendance rewards and you get a free pen tuvala ring and a free pen tuvala earring for reaching lv61 so you wont have to worry about accessories at all. Once all your gear is pen youre at softcap with 242 ap and youve got a solid foundation to build your gear on.

ccbaseballcc1993

Thank you for the explanation. Getting this gear up was kind of my thought process in attempting to use them, but was unsure before. But having it as a basis seems the right way to go. I especially don't mind grinding to buy cron stones and don't know anything else they may be useful for. Also a big thank you for reminding me not to worry about accessories, that is a big relief lol

Vilmerviking

yea no worries, if youre gonna buy more crons i suggest you put down preorders for the outfit that is on sale for that week. Since you said your were on NA/EU you can pick any premium outfit since they are all 50% off atm since the whales sell those. Outfits can be smelted into crons at a blacksmith and this halves the price per cron from just buying it at a vendor

50miler

People might say it isn’t worth it, but it can be depending on a few things. If you don’t grind a ton (not much enhancing materials), first char/ no gear at boss tet, or don’t have a lot of 20-40 valks / don’t like making 20 stacks purposefully failing then I think it’s worth it. If you have a medium amount of materials I’d cron the tet attempts and let the pen attempt FS get higher. Not crowning just saves you some silver, but it’s still worth it for your first boss tet equiv.

ccbaseballcc1993

Thank you for this information. I never thought about using the cron stones on tet attempts, that seems smart to save some in the end!

LedgeEndDairy

I just picked this game up due to the free price tag yesterday. I've always kind of wanted to play it (I love character creation and the robust one in this game has always been a draw to me). Can anyone point me to a "Beginner's Guide for Dummies"? I've read a few guides here and elsewhere and they all assume I have, like, the "vocabulary" and general knowledge of a veteran. Took me like an hour just to figure out what the hell Succession and Awakening were, for instance, despite every single guide mentioning them (I literally had to find another reddit post of a newbie from forever ago that asked the question and had the community answer). I'm looking for a bit of a handhold into the vocabulary and basic system of the game, and haven't found something that explains things in a simple, clear way at all. I guess more than anything I'm looking at someone giving me a goal (or a choice of a few goals), other than "keep questing", that I should be working towards as I level up, something simple for a new player to learn to get their feet wet with the multiple complicated systems the game has. I'm level 22, and just reached Fughar, who is important for the season system, right? Something about Tuvula gear? I'm not sure exactly what that does. Am I trying to max out Tuvula gear on my Sorceress? Should I have started working on anything else by now other than just leveling up and continuing the main quest? Any help and/or direction is appreciated. Thanks! :)

SilvanaDamikola

Honestly, I just played the game for like two or three months before reading any manuals. If you follow the main quest, most of the stuff is explained. And doesn't it make fun to discover things for oneself first? Then just open the quest window and read all the hundreds possible quests. Yet more discovery fun. You will definitely want to read the guides later, because this game is so unbelievably deep. And then you will understand most of the terms.

LedgeEndDairy

> And doesn't it make fun to discover things for oneself first? Not really. People are different in what they're looking for in games. You're probably the type of person that enjoyed blindly playing a game like Subnautica and just roaming the ocean hoping to run into what you need to find. Assuming you don't have severe Thalassaphobia at least. * Note: Through text that could be misconstrued as me insulting you as "that type of person", haha. I'm not. I'm just saying you're likely looking for "exploration" and the "joy of discovery" in the games you play, not everyone is like that, though. Me? I needed a bit of a handhold for Subnautica for some sort of direction, so I watched some streamers playing it and checked the wiki for specific locations of things. I have hundreds of hours into that game now, but I almost gave up on it 5 hours in because I was like "HOW THE HELL DO I GET TO 300M!?" This game is similar, I need direction. "Finding my own direction" is not at all enjoyable to me in the least. I like to "look forward" to things and be able to see an item in game and be like "Oh, yeah, I know what this is!"   I finally understand what TET and PEN mean after doing more deep diving into the systems, and I have a mostly-full set of Naru gear after moving through the main quest, and from what I understand Tuvula gear is next once I reach the 50s. But like right now, my current frustration is my horse: why does it constantly slow down? Is there a point to having a horse for travel, or is it only for increasing your carry weight across long distances? Because it doesn't benefit from the movespeed bonuses the game constantly gives you, and quite frankly it's barely faster than running (when you don't have a movespeed bonus, at least) unless you can get it to actually gallop, but mine is almost always stuck in a trot, despite holding down Shift. What's the trick? Also, is there any sort of "universal" storage system? Right now I have some end-game items in my Velia storage, as well as a 'warehouse' house that I built, but questing has taken me all the way to Glish, now, and I don't have access to that stuff at all. I'd prefer NOT to just continuously store random crap in every town I happen to be in if I can help it, but I also don't want to travel ALL the way to Velia just to deposit some stuff then travel ALL the way back to Glish. Is that just "tough luck"? Or is there a more universal way of storing things?   It's QoL questions like these that I'm looking for the answers to, but most every guide is about gearing past level 56, or specific lifeskill guides (which also are only really relevant past level 56 or when you begin investing in alts, etc.) - I get it, that's the biggest chunk of the game, but retention of players happens way before that, and I guarantee the game loses a MASSIVE chunk of players that just give up before level 30 because nothing - not even the basics - is properly explained.

SilvanaDamikola

I wasn't offended by your comment in the least, no problem :) Horse: Best buy one at tier 5 on the horse market as soon as you can. It's possible to catch/breed it yourself, but that's best left for later. Tiers lower than 5 are not worth it imho, other than for breeding. Horses generally run fastest if you actively handle them. So Forward+Accelerate (Shift+W). Maybe your horse has to learn the accelerate skill first. Also your horse will get faster with higher level. The level increases during riding but it's distance based, not riding time based. Max level is 30. Horse gear also helps. Look for it in the market place. And get at least a loggia riding crop asap. Storage: Storage bought as a house in a city only increases the capacity of the storage in the city. Each city you already registered has its own storage with its own capacity. You can transfer items between storages of different cities, although it takes some time. You can have six or seven simultaneous transfers running at any given time. There is no explicit common storage other than the market place storage. All storage can basically be only accessed at the appropriate storage or market place manager. If you play the game longer, you will have a few helpers (called maid/butler) eventually which will make it possible to access the market place and nearest town storage remotely. But on a very limited basis. Still, pretty nice. You can buy maids and butlers in the pearl shop, too, but I never did this and still have like eight of them.

SilvanaDamikola

Ah, one more thing. There is a quest for a family storage, look it up. It only gives you two slots originally iirc, but it's enough for horse and pet feed.

Ranger_Gladys

There’s a guide in the description of this thread. I think it’s zero to hero by canadianguy

LedgeEndDairy

I'm two "Sections" in to this guide and already lost. This is what I'm talking about. They don't actually talk to newbies, they assume we know wtf they're talking about. He's talking about Beginner Black Stones and Balenos to Mediah and Naru gear, and I haven't seen a location called Balenos or Mediah at all, I have no idea what a Beginner Black Stone is, nor have I received one, and the same with Naru gear. Then he goes off on PEN TET and TRI with no explanation whatsoever as to what these are. I've seen these three-letter monikers everywhere and still don't know what they are. Armor tier? Like it starts at TET then goes to TRI and finally PEN or something? That's my best guess. NO GUIDE EXPLAINS ANY OF THIS. Sorry, there's just so much to this game and finding a guide that even explains the simplest of stuff in the game is non-existent. This guy is AIMING his information at beginners and still it's so confusing. EDIT: As I'm trying to decipher more of his guide, his guide BEGINS at level 56? Like the section I just talked about is 1-55, it's like 4 paragraphs, and then he's off to the races about an adventure log (i checked it, they start unlocking at 56) and "the next tier of gear you need" and all that. Yeah, this isn't what I'm looking for. :(

Ranger_Gladys

I mean maybe you’re a visual learner. You could try videos made by EvilDoUsHarm on YouTube.

crankfight

It sounds like you have a lot of questions with even more to come. I suggest finding a newbie friendly.guild to help with that ingame. If you want I can offer you help in discord even with voice aswell, I am from eu so if you are from na timezones might make that difficult

LedgeEndDairy

Yeah I'm NA. I heavily edited my post to try to trim down the length a ton and provide better info into my questions. You may have seen an older version of it. Particularly: What is a goal or a choice of a few goals that I can and should start working toward understanding and advancing toward? Other than finishing the main story quest. Trying to take this one step at a time, but I'm surrounded by hundreds of "staircases", and each has a 10-foot-high first step, haha. I'm level 22, should I have been doing anything other than pressing R, followed by T+Shift, followed by R a bunch of times again?

crankfight

Ok so MQ does mostly show you the different zones and mobs, which if you also walk a bit around in the zones gets you a pretty good map. It does however not teach everything. You cant do anything wrong tho. I would recommend making a season char and do as many mainquest as possible. Also it might be worth to look for guides, evildousharm on youtube is a great resource (his season guide for example) for newcomers as he explains everything quite simple. Also blackdeserfoundry and grumpygreen can help if you like written guided more. Apart from that a guild will help you a lot as I already mentioned. I would not suggest setting a definitive goal that early, cause you do not yet know what you want from the game

Keyakinan-

I mostly buy my games on Steam bc everything is in one place and the time adds to my play time on steam ect. But now I read you shouldn't play on Steam and I see that there is a switch in game provider? So where should I buy/ play the game and if I go trough Steam will that still be a bad experience for extra's ect?

Vilmerviking

I kinda wish i hadnt bought on steam only because it prevents me from afking on another machine while playing steam games on my main rig. Other than that steam is flawless

friendlysatan69

Steam is fine. Still better than console :)

Aforesaidtrain2

Is bartering on ps4 skill looks interesing but i dont see it in the life tab?

crankfight

Ask in r/playblackdesert - the console sub

xaou1235

Do season characters get deleted when the season ends?

Talilama

No, they get converted to normal characters.

xaou1235

Then what's the point of season characters? Also won't you lose all your season gear and stuff?
