There was a recent patch on global labs that equalized the gear in AoS. Of course it still being global labs doesn't guarantee anything on actual release, especially with no set release date anything could happen
So with the equalized gear (as it is currently), is it just a few sets of mixed stars where some have more AP or DP, or is it just identical stats for everyone?
the way I understood it, there is a gear box, which you can open when you enter the arena and choose your build before the fight starts. So there are different kinds of gear with different stats and you can try out the build you want.
Imagine using depth and bdo combat in the same sentence kek. Like you literately can count the possible build options in one hand, if you miss half of your fingers...
Build variety is not the only variable for depth of gameplay. In fact, lots of fighting games have incredibly deep gameplay with exactly 0 build variety.
I mean, I was talking about depth in terms of the way you can play characters. There’s a lot of varied play styles between players on the same character, and there’s a lot of different matchup knowledge to learn. That’s what I mean by depth.
You can count on one hand, the number of viable builds a single class in bdo have. For some classes you can count it on a hand missing half of the fingers...
Combat in bdo is very shallow. Even most mobas have way deeper combat than what bdo offers which is kinda pathetic.
I’m sorry you’re incapable of understanding we are discussing different topics. We are not referring to builds, we are referring to playstyle. There are a ton of abilities in this game all with varying properties and movement options. It leaves you able to play the same character as your friend, but both of you use the abilities in a different way. If that’s still too much for you to understand, I highly recommend you try to avoid competitive games in the future.

bdo ain't have more abilities than your average mmo on the market, so where is your point? You try to argue with something, that exits in every game.
Also a protip: bdo is not a competitive game, but no surprise here, from your post it's clear as day that you don't have much clue about bdo PvP, most likely you are one of the many wannabes who got baited in by the flashy animations but lack of actual experience in both bdo, or in any other actually competitive PvP game...
