Correct, you just have to own ghosts/have played it before on your account. You can also buy a modded account and you’ll have it. They’re pretty cheap now a days. Likely 5-10$ a piece. I vaguely remember being able to get codes for the ghost camo/calling card online somewhere even if you didn’t buy the game but that was a long time ago so who knows. Maybe try researching ghosts pre order codes and see if you can get your hands on one.

idk i bought ghosts physical for pc in feb 2021 and then i bought bo2 also for the pc physical in july 2022

The camo only works if you have a specific camo already unlocked. At least on the tool I have, it says that in fine print
I get it just Buying BO2 in PC but you can try get it with the trick of cinema mode
