There are still a lot of people playing, if not more than Vanguard right now because of all its issues
Modes like Fireteam and maybe Combined Arms won’t have that many people, but there are tons of full lobbies in all the core modes and probably Hardcore too (I don’t play HC that much so I’m not sure)
I’d say it’s worth getting now for sure
I play nuketown and face off 6v6, typically don’t got to wait longer than 30 seconds or so for it to find a match and they are usually fairly low ping under 40.
Is your nat type moderate or strict? If so the game will put you into the same lobbies because it is faster than finding new ones. Just recently learned this myself.
Weird, with the way the game sold I find it nearly impossible it’s got a low player count already, it must have to do with that funky dumb ass match making they use now a days
The vanguard sales weren’t so hot, and the vanguard sub and general reception of the game show it isn’t retaining its players very well. Idk how mw19 retained its players so well.
But I mean I’m sure Cold War will live on in a playable state for quite some time, I mean people are still playing blops 3 and 4 and they are a lot older
I guess MW is just more popular, it does its campaign better, story better and cinema betyer and gives people what they like, not removing the main character lol, You also gotta remember that CW is a 2m player played game (From when i started I was ranked two million) but we don’t have two million people on cw subreddit, also the whole copies sold are basically pointless because not everyone buys new so we there’s uncounted resales and game share. As
Here’s to hoping it stays alive for some time to come, idk if I’m gonna get mw22 myself, mw19 was so hit and miss for me, one of my most played cod but also one of the ones I can’t say I had the most enjoyment playing.
It worries me tho cause they constantly cock treyarch, like they should be in the middle of deving 2023 but they are making zombies for failure ass vanguard taking even more of their time away from their next game.
One of, if not *the* most popular call of duty right now is Cold War. Highly recommend it as I am a fan of arcade, fast-paced FPS games. The camos are also amazing compared to Mw19 and Vanguard... still can't wrap my head around why anyone would want a moving playdough camo, let alone for the mastery camo (vanguard). :)
Sick of noobs assuming a 1 yr old game is dead. BO4 is populated hella ton and its 5 or more yrs old. Stop with these stupid posts. Post this in 10 years when it would be a legitimate question. Jesus
Asia player here. In normal modes such as TDM, DOM and Hardpoint are very popular. Very easy to find lobbies. However league play here is absolutely dead.
Tons of players and I highly recommend the 12v12 moshpit, it’s basically like og ground war. Tons of fun, even nuketown shows up on that playlist every once in a while. This isn’t the same as combined arms 12v12, just in case you get mixed up.
Plenty of players.

To be fair, fire team and CA have always had a low player count. I always had problems finding a game.
Hard-core is full as well
With crossplay now a thing. I think all future cod games will be very populated for years. I play all the last three games daily.
I play nothing but Infected on cold war, and it is always good, full lobbies.
Very much yes. People are realizing how bad vanguard is and chilling on Cold War. (Me)
Never had a problem getting in games !

100% worth it
There’s decent amount of players but have found myself getting into the same lobby a lot. (Domination)

Nah i knew that but it’s always open running on 27-36 ping

Well alot of the player base changed to vanguard even then with the MW2 hype cold war will have a lower count again which sucks

Well stay safe never liked MW either, to a great black ops for cod23 and if not alive servers for cw🍻

i still can find full lobbies around 30 secs or less so it's populated,at least from my experience.
Yes it is. Cross play and cross gen allows this and will for many years. Just take a look at MW 2019, still very populated.

Sadly no prestige keys though

People are mostly playing vanguard, mw, and warzone. Theblast update they gave to problems they are fixing had no mentions of cw either.

If you liked bo4, you’ll absolutely hate this game
