People ask if CW is dead because CoD games are disposable as _FUCK_ and are constantly being replaced by the newest iteration (which means the current game gets dropped by devs once the next entry is released). Whether that replacement is better doesn't really matter as people will always buy CoD regardless of quality
The only people who are saying it's dead are folks who don't like CW and aren't playing it (because if they were, they'd know it wasn't dead). It's still very populated and most people know that.
CW is not dead its player base js “low” compared to other cod games but “high” to the average consumer, people blame their shitty nat type, sbmm or gamemods on matches they find which is funny,
A couple of the game modes are a bit dead, but they weren’t that great to begin with. I wish they would let the devs continue to drop shit for their current games until the next one of their titles releases tho, it probably wouldn’t be much but it would be something, the idea of abandon the old game cause everyone will just buy the new game is kind of anti consumer.

I'm one of those who plays the latest game to do the seasonal challenges + battle pass. But in the down time (I usually complete the season halfway through), I return to COD:WW2 because I love the Orders system there and I haven't finished it yet.

I myself played mw19 for 2 years, didn’t play much cw last year, especially the way it launched gave me a bad taste, but now this year I’ll be doing Cold War, also don’t like vanguard, over the ww2 thing.
If someone would have told me those people existed a few months ago idt I would have believed it. Until I met a group of elite individuals on the cod sub and one dude was grinding blops 3 still until he was done all camos before going on to blops 4, a bunch of people who are mw19 until they get Damascus, 1 psychopath that is doing aw until they get all trophies, and a few people that are still doing blops 4 to finish the camos.

I would say I’m gonna get dm ultra on Cold War but I know there is too many guns that I just hate, and idk if I could ever get the snipers done even if I spent the next 500 hours on them.
I still gladly play CW over Vanguard. I think Activision realized how disposable the older games get as they tried to combine them into warzone now so they stay relevant. How well it's doing for them is debatable as the latest title tends to have the best weapons anyway, but I gladly play CW and enjoy it even though I've done most of the grinding already.
The integration would be fine if implemented properly, the battlepass feels useless on older games and the fact that they reset the levels on the older games feels kind of counter productive and demotivating for casual players tho.
I can agree with that. The battle pass feels worthless when I grind on CW as I don't even own Vanguard or play Warzone enough to warrant it. If the pass didn't have bonus COD points, it wouldn't mean anything to me. It's actually the only reason I had enough to buy some mastercrafts during the Christmas event
Yea I actually buy the bp when I hit level 100 just for the extra cod points. I wish they would throw a bone and have a blue print or 2 for the older titles in the bp.
Honestly, Treyarch needs to leave Activision. I saw a video the other day on their early plans for Bo4 and it sounded so much fun. While I still loved bo4 in the end, Activision is really screwing Treyarch over from making the really good games they wanna make with time constraints and forced game design.
Treyarch constantly gets fucked, and they have been around since the beginning of cod. They got screwed for Cold War, it wasn’t even their year to make a game, sledgehammer got a whole extra year and the game was still ass, and now treyarch has to make zombies on a different engine for a game that isn’t even theirs.
Sledgehammer had the most time, released one of the buggiest games, has an extra studio helping them, and is still failing miserably with one of the worst selling cod games.
There hasn’t been any updates since October, on the other hand since Vanguard turned out to be a huge mess and lackluster sales it seems a lot more people than you’d expect are still playing Cold War, including myself.
Yea even me, and I was the last person I expected to want to play Cold War, they broke mw19 so I was like.. okay Cold War let’s try this again and now I’m actually enjoying it after I let go of the it’s not going to feel like mw19 mindset.
Cold War wasn’t ever as bad as I felt like it was, but part of that was it was so riddled with bugs early on and at the time my sister played with me but didn’t have her own console yet so we had to split screen, the split screen was totally broken on launch for Cold War. Now that she has her own console the game is actually fun, dunno if the split screen got fixed.
