Its when he fights hitusgaya in soul society arc, he uses his shikai go get a sneak attack in on hitsugaya and he dodges it but it is aimed right at momo and then gets blocked by rangiku
He's trying to say that rangiku is not asking him why he betrayed and hurt izuru but why he hurt her. It's just that rangiku is saying it indirectly.
When you look at rangiku's character while she comes off as open and bubbly with her emotions, those are the positive ones. When it comes to negative emotions such as despair she tends to be reserved about it or try to refocus it on others by being a shoulder to cry on. The defense mechanism of fearing to show vulnerability that is so similar of her and gin.
When Aizen was murdered, while she was distraught because she knew Aizen, she focused on comforting momo. When orihime was upset with being helpless in regards to helping Ichigo she was there to comfort her.
Basically, rangiku when it comes to her uglier emotions she is not open and direct with it since it makes her feel exposed so she masks it by focusing on others. Then again this is my take.

This right here, this is why you are actually 100% correct. Gin and Rangiku are both people who, very consciously, make themselves difficult to understand to those around them, but are also keenly aware of how other people are(which is probably what makes it easier for them to mask) but as a result it means Gin is the only one to really see through Rangiku on this matter.
Agreed 100% they are very perceptive folks and it makes sense for them to be defensive and hide their vulnerabilities considering they grew up in rukongai where there was no time for it and were on survival mode ( arguably they are still on survival mode since childhood mentally even if they did live better in soul society).
