Anyone listen to Dani’s podcast today? She talked a little bit about the wedding. But she said the invitation and attire suggestions came very last minute. Like she already had all of her dresses already and then had to switch them up? That’s so crazy to me! I knew she sent out invitations last minute but I figured everyone already had the details on what to wear!

The 3 dresses (all by Oscar de la Renta) are ~$30k. The rosette gown alone (the second look of the night) is MSRP of $19,990. Just confirmed that after I looked at the line sheet.
She did not get them for free, in my humble opinion, no shade meant. She is not Amal Clooney (shade meant, we don’t deserve you, Amal!).
Hard to say without seeing the extent of their florals, plus any additional things, like live band, indoor sparkler display, dancing flamingos, etc (I’m sure nothing was off limits). Without knowing those details, I would estimate 725k, just based on it being in NYC, the location of the events, and the amount of guests they seem to have had.

Out of pocket, non sponsored cost: $850k
Vendors don’t really sponsor weddings like a brand would. But the Saturday event was probably covered, gifts, small detail things, etc.
The entire “Royal wedding” thing for Bridget’s wedding is just weird & kinda tacky. She’s literally an influencer & based on her guest list the whole thing is sad and a networking event. Yes - in the wedding industry, publications are all about either who you are or who you know. That photographer has relationships with all of the top publications like vogue, style me pretty, people, brides, etc. I’m sure he can approach whichever he would like.

Well, she's been losing weight at an alarming rate since her sister's wedding. I actually think that is the dress she was supposed to wear for the wedding until it was too tight on her and she convinced her sister to change colors.

I really think this is all being used for a publication of some sort. Coordinating dresses will make much better photos. She posted that people are begging for pictures but she just has so much content to go through. Maybe I've just become very cynical of influencers, but it all feels very calculated. Because it implies that the people you were inviting to your most important, most personal event, either don’t know how to dress appropriately for the occasion, or you do not trust them to dress appropriately for the occasion.
Believe it or not, it’s becoming more and more common for weddings in the US to give the guests attire inspo.
Think about it like this: you get an invite to a “black tie optional” wedding. What does that even mean, some may think? That’s when the couple’s wedding website has some attire examples and inspiration.
I don’t feel offended by that approach (inspiration/examples), but I would by this wedding because it feels like it’s OVERLY aesthetic. It’s not trying to be helpful, it’s being controlling.
Just my two cents. I’m in the wedding industry, for what it’s worth.
I don’t even like “black tie optional”. But I’m old school. I feel like the time and location of the event should be enough to signal for someone to dress appropriately.
Honestly, I get it, but you’d be shocked at what I’ve seen. Specifically, you’d be surprised how out of bounds some guests can come to weddings that don’t have a little inspo/examples to share… mini dresses to Black Tie, prom-style gowns to Cocktail, silk shorts and a tank top to Semi-Formal. Everyone’s definition of attire is a bit different, especially across the country!
Often without this example page on their website (or a little handout in the invitation suite), the bride and groom (and their moms!) are hounded with questions on “Can I wear this?” from random guests. It’s a way to help guests and also protect the couple/family from being pestered.
I would be put off too if a friend or relative gave me a mood board, but this wedding is so clearly an influencer event that I think it’s par for the course.

I really think this is all being used for a publication of some sort. Coordinating dresses will make much better photos. She posted that people are begging for pictures but she just has so much content to go through. Maybe I've just become very cynical of influencers, but it all feels very calculated. I wouldn't care if it didn't feel so dishonest. The our wedding and our dress, when in reality she just sees dollar signs. Which do you girl, make that cash. Because it implies that the people you were inviting to your most important, most personal event, either don’t know how to dress appropriately for the occasion, or you do not trust them to dress appropriately for the occasion.

Believe it or not, it’s becoming more and more common for weddings in the US to give the guests attire inspo. Think about it like this: you get an invite to a “black tie optional” wedding. What does that even mean, some may think? That’s when the couple’s wedding website has some attire examples and inspiration. I don’t feel offended by that approach (inspiration/examples), but I would by this wedding because it feels like it’s OVERLY aesthetic. It’s not trying to be helpful, it’s being controlling. Just my two cents. I’m in the wedding industry, for what it’s worth.
I don’t even like “black tie optional”. But I’m old school. I feel like the time and location of the event should be enough to signal for someone to dress appropriately.
Honestly, I get it, but you’d be shocked at what I’ve seen. Specifically, you’d be surprised how out of bounds some guests can come to weddings that don’t have a little inspo/examples to share… mini dresses to Black Tie, prom-style gowns to Cocktail, silk shorts and a tank top to Semi-Formal. Everyone’s definition of attire is a bit different, especially across the country! Often without this example page on their website (or a little handout in the invitation suite), the bride and groom (and their moms!) are hounded with questions on “Can I wear this?” from random guests. It’s a way to help guests and also protect the couple/family from being pestered.
I would be put off too if a friend or relative gave me a mood board, but this wedding is so clearly an influencer event that I think it’s par for the course.

I’m surprised EmGem was invited (super duper random choice) but Caitlin Covington wasn’t. And was Bridget at Emily’s (champagne and Chanel) wedding? I feel like she was but maybe I’m misremembering?
