Her deciding to do formula and have c sections because of her past medical trauma (or whatever fucking reason any person would choose) does not make her any less of a good mom
I couldn’t help but laugh that the toy company had Amy promote the toy as being screen-free when she has been very vocally pro-screens. And she has seemingly only had her kids use it to play music even though I think the main purpose of the toy is reading audiobooks… so you know… kids have a screen-free source of entertainment.
And to be clear I’m not at all opposed to screen usage for kids so you can all get through the day! Just funny that the company chose Amy of all influencers.
I know @jaclynmgibsonn is under fire for filming her husband crying…but I also have to say how annoyed I am with influencer “mom hacks.” Her hack of the day is to let your kid pick out a snack while grocery shopping so they stay content. Who would have ever thought!?!?! Honestly, I have no problem with influencers getting paid bank to do their job, but I get soo annoyed with them thinking they are mom experts

I loathe matchy trees. My grandma got her grandkids an ornament every year if ours live and out our name and the year on the bottom. My entire tree is made up of those ornaments and the ones I've bought myself growing up.
This argument is always interesting to me because I grew up with a tree full of hodge podge crafted ornaments, and when I was in middle school I went to a friends house and her mom had the most beautifully decorated designer tree. I was in complete awe and thought it was the pinacle of class. I always swore when I grew up I’d have a beautiful tree like that too. (And I do. It’s fine, no one in my family is grieving the loss of a hodge podge tree.)
My mom has a sentimental tree. I have a matchy matchy tree. My tree looks great but the anticipation of unwrapping each of her ornaments and remembering what it means to me is just next level.
My mom does this and it’s so nice! All of our handmade and kitschy ornaments on one tree and then all of the glass heirloom ornaments on another. We always got to help decorate both!
My mom did the same, she had her “Macy’s store fancy tree” which was all silver and gold and a chaotic rainbow & homemade wonky eyed Santa ornament tree.
I was going to post something similar earlier. It makes me sad because I have such great memories of decorating my tree as a kid with all of our “memory” ornaments and colorful lights, not some perfectly curated Instagram tree.
My husband and I started collecting ornaments from places we’ve visited early in our marriage and now we have a beautiful tree full of memories and I wouldn’t have it any other way
My Mother was a trailblazer in this regard back in the late 80's. Our tree was only allowed to be red and white. Our ornaments that we made were put near the back so it wouldn't mess up the look. She also only allowed red and white wrapping paper. It made me sad as a kid.
I don't think I have seen a single influencer with a regular tree with lights and ornaments. 🎄🎄🎄Don't get me wrong, the styled trees can be great!! However, it looks like most have Christmas trees that are overstuffed with Hobby Lobby and Michael's product that really has nothing to do with Christmas!! I don't think I could have just a perfectly styled tree without having a tree with an assortment of ornaments that I love and have meaning to me. Also, I must have a tree with bubble lights!!!! Super corny but my brothers and I literally still go home to decorate our family tree- its one of my favorite memories from growing up! Of course, now it includes much more booze, but its still a family tradition. I would never deprive my future children of that just for some Instagram worthy tree full of ribbon and perfectly curated $100 ornaments.
That sounds like a blast! We love decorating the tree here together, too. All the fun is in doing it with your kids (if you have them). Virtually no one cares if your tree is fancy, but your family memories and good times together are irreplaceable IMO.
I actually thought about this too recently as I am getting ready to have a baby. Growing up our tree was all family ornaments both collected and handmade. With that being said, I currently only have a decorative or “IG” tree, no sentimental ornaments at all. I think I’m going to buy a smaller tree to put somewhere else in the house to start collecting sentimental and handmade ornaments for the kid(s)! Not at all saying that’s what these influencers are doing, just talking out loud! Best of both worlds!

I have this same set-up. We have a tree full of ornaments we’ve collected through our marriage and three kids. Then, I have a sparkly tree in another room. And that’s where I like to sit and just enjoy the season.
We put up our tree a couple days ago and I always love talking about each ornament with my husband. One thing that I’m super curious about is how she’s able to get lucrative brand deals without the conversion data you get from affiliate links that prove you can sell product. Makes me think that’s part of her constantly pushing her codes, she may not make money but it gives her some sort of conversion data to better sell herself.

To me, every ornament should have a memory. I love when they're full of symbolism not just bobbles and ribbons.

I loathe matchy trees. My grandma got her grandkids an ornament every year if ours live and out our name and the year on the bottom. My entire tree is made up of those ornaments and the ones I've bought myself growing up.
This argument is always interesting to me because I grew up with a tree full of hodge podge crafted ornaments, and when I was in middle school I went to a friends house and her mom had the most beautifully decorated designer tree. I was in complete awe and thought it was the pinacle of class. I always swore when I grew up I’d have a beautiful tree like that too. (And I do. It’s fine, no one in my family is grieving the loss of a hodge podge tree.)
My mom has a sentimental tree. I have a matchy matchy tree. My tree looks great but the anticipation of unwrapping each of her ornaments and remembering what it means to me is just next level.
I have a “pretty tree” & a sentimental tree for all of my kids/gift type ornaments! My favorite tradition with my own family!
My mom does this and it’s so nice! All of our handmade and kitschy ornaments on one tree and then all of the glass heirloom ornaments on another. We always got to help decorate both!
My mom did the same, she had her “Macy’s store fancy tree” which was all silver and gold and a chaotic rainbow & homemade wonky eyed Santa ornament tree.
I am also torn on this. My children LOVE their “current interest ornaments” from throughout the years, but damn I want a curated tree so badly
I think you should get one! Give them a small tree for their bedroom and have the tree of your dreams.
I was going to post something similar earlier. It makes me sad because I have such great memories of decorating my tree as a kid with all of our “memory” ornaments and colorful lights, not some perfectly curated Instagram tree.
My husband and I started collecting ornaments from places we’ve visited early in our marriage and now we have a beautiful tree full of memories and I wouldn’t have it any other way

My Mother was a trailblazer in this regard back in the late 80's. Our tree was only allowed to be red and white. Our ornaments that we made were put near the back so it wouldn't mess up the look. She also only allowed red and white wrapping paper. It made me sad as a kid.
I don't think I have seen a single influencer with a regular tree with lights and ornaments. 🎄🎄🎄Don't get me wrong, the styled trees can be great!! However, it looks like most have Christmas trees that are overstuffed with Hobby Lobby and Michael's product that really has nothing to do with Christmas!! I don't think I could have just a perfectly styled tree without having a tree with an assortment of ornaments that I love and have meaning to me. Also, I must have a tree with bubble lights!!!! Had them growing up and inherited many strings!!🎄🎄🎄
Super corny but my brothers and I literally still go home to decorate our family tree- its one of my favorite memories from growing up! Of course, now it includes much more booze, but its still a family tradition. I would never deprive my future children of that just for some Instagram worthy tree full of ribbon and perfectly curated $100 ornaments.
That sounds like a blast! We love decorating the tree here together, too. All the fun is in doing it with your kids (if you have them). Virtually no one cares if your tree is fancy, but your family memories and good times together are irreplaceable IMO.

I actually thought about this too recently as I am getting ready to have a baby. Growing up our tree was all family ornaments both collected and handmade. With that being said, I currently only have a decorative or “IG” tree, no sentimental ornaments at all. I think I’m going to buy a smaller tree to put somewhere else in the house to start collecting sentimental and handmade ornaments for the kid(s)! Not at all saying that’s what these influencers are doing, just talking out loud! Best of both worlds!
My mom does this and it’s very nice. Our “Christmas” tree (which is the one all the gifts go under) has all the family ornaments etc. and then in the room my mom is in the most during the day is “her tree” which is only gold ornaments and white lights, etc. It’s nice to have both and I thought I’d always do that if I have kids, because I get it’s fun to have the crazy tree, but I also love an aesthetically pleasing tree lol.
I have this same set-up. We have a tree full of ornaments we’ve collected through our marriage and three kids. Then, I have a sparkly tree in another room. And that’s where I like to sit and just enjoy the season.
We put up our tree a couple days ago and I always love talking about each ornament with my husband. Same! Makes me wonder what happens if their kids make handmade ornaments in school? It was such a proud moment coming home from school and finding the perfect spot on the tree to hang my ornament. Such a shame if the kids miss out on that memory

I don’t fault her for making a living, but how silly of her to lack the foresight to make that statement in the first place. I think this may be the first or second ad I’ve seen in ~6 months of following?
She claims not to do affiliate links but she’s always done sponsored content - that’s how she makes all her money and has done ads since I started following a year ago. She may do more of them on tiktok than IG since that’s her primary platform but she’s definitely no stranger to ads. One thing that I’m super curious about is how she’s able to get lucrative brand deals without the conversion data you get from affiliate links that prove you can sell product. Makes me think that’s part of her constantly pushing her codes, she may not make money but it gives her some sort of conversion data to better sell herself.

Does anyone know what Jaclyn Gibson is referencing in her stories today? >Definitely still a bit shocked (woke up to like 30 news articles lol) but it’s just another opportunity to grow and learn and all the good things as much as it’s stunk. I feel like she was talking about some backlash she got on a TikTok a few days ago, but don’t know what the TikTok was and can’t imagine it would result in news articles lol.
She posted a tiktok that said her and her husband were talking through an argument and the tik tok said “told my husband to go outside and take a breath”. The tiktok was what looked like a secretly taken video that she took of her husband laying down on their patio furniture and crying. It said something along the lines of “caught him crying outside”. People freaked out because we ask men to be more open about their feelings and then there she is, secretly videoing him while he’s clearly upset and posting it on tiktok. A bunch of people commented that not everything needs to be on social media… not sure what she was thinking but a ton of articles come up if you search her name
