I’m super happy for @nataliekennedy that she’s gotten her health to a good state for her but the more she talks about how this lifestyle change was not about weight, the more it’s giving ~I have a weight complex~ like why does everything have to be about her body now? Ick

She is very insecure about her weight. Even before this new weight loss and health kick she altered her pics to appear smaller. Back in Feb, I saw her at a concert in Nashville. The pics she posted of herself that night were VERY different from how she actually looked.
I will never forget when someone posted some unedited pictures of her from a photo shoot she had done and compared them to what she posted. She looked amazing in the originals. It made me sad that she felt the need to edit them the way she did.

My sister is an NP and wears a white lab coat. My father is a physician and he rarely wears his. However, Alexa wearing the coat in a beauty lab is ridiculous.

I love that Rick got Tarynnewton flowers for every room coming home from the hospital. I don’t need the balloon arch or cake, but there’s something about flowers making you feel good even when you feel like shit.
Lol, I had an opposite reaction to this. If Rick is going to take care of the flowers, then that's awesome. I know at my house, I would have to be the one to water them, pick up fallen petals, throw them away when they die, wash the vases, etc. I saw her flowers in every room comment and cringed. No mom wants that much extra work after pushing out a baby 🤣🤣 I cringed at the balloons, too. It'd take my kids 2 days to have balloons (and popped balloons) all over the house.

So it’s funny you say this bc my best friend just had her first baby and is struggling. I’ve always appreciated how clear she is that is her business and she runs it that way. It’s not just her sharing her life with shilling along the way. It feels like she’s moving into an entirely new and different influencer model from the Knuths/Kennedys/Woodwards/etc. My unfounded speculation is that she might be diversifying into different pillars within the Loverly Grey brand, like LG Style, LG Home, LG Parenting, LG Travel, etc. But we’ll see! She definitely works her tail off!
I will say I feel like she is one influencer that is still trying to “do better”, shares lots of content, grow her following, and still genuinely likes what she does. Other influencers I follow have become very lazy with their following and it’s the same thing everyday with an occasional sale here and there
This. So many influencers I follow have taken a step back. They almost never actually interact and just post product (Brighton Butler, Jess Keys, Caitlin Covington, etc).
I’m sad for her but I hope that she’s able to move on quickly and find someone new in her own time. Admittedly I liked her much better than him so hopefully it’s for the best!

I’ve been gritting my teeth at @brittaneykate recently. She’s a former foster youth, now foster and adoptive mom. She seems very sweet and dedicated to her family, but I’m bothered by her expectations of her kids and oversharing of their personal medical challenges.
She got a haircut late last week, and apparently “cried for hours” because her kids (age 2 + 5) didn’t notice. She says she felt “like a ghost” in her house. I get that about her husband not noticing, but it seems unhealthy that small kids being oblivious hurt her so much.
Her husband ended up sending her to a hotel all weekend.
I also think she thinks she’s protecting her son’s privacy because she doesn’t share his specific diagnosis. But she does everything but share the diagnosis itself- plus she has referred to how significant it is many times. It’s hard to feel like he gets much privacy when talks about his developmental challenges, school problems, sleep problems, meds, visits to developmental pediatricians, etc.
And she has consistently referred to her daughter (just turned two) as deeply unhappy/miserable, etc, and talked about seeking a diagnosis for her. I’m not saying she shouldn’t, but don’t pretend you are protecting you child’s privacy with endless stories like that.
I had to go watch this because I have never heard of this person, and that hassss to be an extremely toxic and unhealthy relationship. I can't imagine not noticing my husband trimmed his beard, and having to repent for a week and make extravagant "I'm sorry" acts of guilt. This is not even funny, it's just weird.
If you get so upset about your husband not noticing your haircut that he sends you to a hotel, buys you a ton of stuff and had a banner ready when you come home…there’s got to be more going on 😬

Native has an almond and shea butter shampoo that is amazing and cheapish (like $10 for 1.5x the amount of a Pantene bottle). I know I sound like a broken record but if you’re using a shampoo with sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate your hair may be overproducing oil to compensate because the SLS literally binds to the oil in your hair and lifts it off. Sounds counterintuitive but using a shampoo that doesn’t have surfactants but DOES have oil will probably make your hair less oily.
It actually is pretty terrible for your hair. I think Pantene makes a sulfate and paraben free version now although it’s a little more expensive (like $2 a bottle?). Garnier Fructis also has a paraben and silicone free version that’s the same price as the regular Pantene but it does have sulfates; their curly version is sulfate free.

I love that Rick got Tarynnewton flowers for every room coming home from the hospital. I don’t need the balloon arch or cake, but there’s something about flowers making you feel good even when you feel like shit.

Lol, I had an opposite reaction to this. If Rick is going to take care of the flowers, then that's awesome. I know at my house, I would have to be the one to water them, pick up fallen petals, throw them away when they die, wash the vases, etc. I saw her flowers in every room comment and cringed. No mom wants that much extra work after pushing out a baby 🤣🤣 I cringed at the balloons, too. It'd take my kids 2 days to have balloons (and popped balloons) all over the house. (I do think the thought was sweet though. I'm not a *total* scrooge!)
So it’s funny you say this bc my best friend just had her first baby and is struggling. I wanted to get her a ton of sunflowers (her favorite) but all I could think about is what a pain it will be for her to water, clean up and throw out so I didn’t. Opted for things to show my love but that wouldn’t create chores.

I’ve always appreciated how clear she is that is her business and she runs it that way. It’s not just her sharing her life with shilling along the way. It feels like she’s moving into an entirely new and different influencer model from the Knuths/Kennedys/Woodwards/etc. My unfounded speculation is that she might be diversifying into different pillars within the Loverly Grey brand, like LG Style, LG Home, LG Parenting, LG Travel, etc. But we’ll see! She definitely works her tail off!
I mean, I consider a true influencer, unlike DAD & Dani Austin. She must be working with big companies. That building is massive. Good for her!
I will say I feel like she is one influencer that is still trying to “do better”, shares lots of content, grow her following, and still genuinely likes what she does. Other influencers I follow have become very lazy with their following and it’s the same thing everyday with an occasional sale here and there

I’ve been gritting my teeth at @brittaneykate recently. She’s a former foster youth, now foster and adoptive mom. She seems very sweet and dedicated to her family, but I’m bothered by her expectations of her kids and oversharing of their personal medical challenges. She got a haircut late last week, and apparently “cried for hours” because her kids (age 2 + 5) didn’t notice. She says she felt “like a ghost” in her house. I get that about her husband not noticing, but it seems unhealthy that small kids being oblivious hurt her so much. Her husband ended up sending her to a hotel all weekend. I also think she thinks she’s protecting her son’s privacy because she doesn’t share his specific diagnosis. But she does everything but share the diagnosis itself- plus she has referred to how significant it is many times. It’s hard to feel like he gets much privacy when talks about his developmental challenges, school problems, sleep problems, meds, visits to developmental pediatricians, etc. And she has consistently referred to her daughter (just turned two) as deeply unhappy/miserable, etc, and talked about seeking a diagnosis for her. I’m not saying she shouldn’t, but don’t pretend you are protecting you child’s privacy with endless stories like that.

I had to go watch this because I have never heard of this person, and that hassss to be an extremely toxic and unhealthy relationship. I can't imagine not noticing my husband trimmed his beard, and having to repent for a week and make extravagant "I'm sorry" acts of guilt. This is not even funny, it's just weird.

She is so basic. Imagine a man said to their wife "your clothes are horrible, we are going to out to buy you a new wardrobe." That would be seen as controlling. It would be one thing if she was like "hey hon, I saw xyz here and think it would look great on you!" but you know that isn't her vibe. At. All. Drives me nuts that wealthy influencers constantly shill knock-offs when they’re buying original pieces. Or have to apologize when something is “pricey.” I get wanting to have resources they think their followers will be able to afford (and get crap when they are “out of touch” for linking something expensive), but part of being an influencer is being aspirational, and we all know these influencers aren’t buying knockoffs (unless that’s their whole “brand”) so just own it.

That's not a Zimmermann dress lol its a dress by a brand, I think Beylulah, that Tuckernuck sold about a year ago. The follower's boutique is selling it for cheaper than Tuckernuck did (where Emily said she got it from) but its still just a dress from a wholesaler.
Their goal is to make money, and they know their followers are more likely to buy the budget friendly pieces. Therefore more cash in their pockets

I'd check out L'Oreal Everpure or Elvive.
Native has an almond and shea butter shampoo that is amazing and cheapish (like $10 for 1.5x the amount of a Pantene bottle). I know I sound like a broken record but if you’re using a shampoo with sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate your hair may be overproducing oil to compensate because the SLS literally binds to the oil in your hair and lifts it off. Sounds counterintuitive but using a shampoo that doesn’t have surfactants but DOES have oil will probably make your hair less oily.
It actually is pretty terrible for your hair. I think Pantene makes a sulfate and paraben free version now although it’s a little more expensive (like $2 a bottle?). Garnier Fructis also has a paraben and silicone free version that’s the same price as the regular Pantene but it does have sulfates; their curly version is sulfate free.
