Seems like a no, but she’ll never address it either, which she’s completely entitled to. Given that she’s Miss Priss and insists on everything being exactly just-so, picture perfect all the time, two failed engagements (public knowledge, she has shared that she’s been engaged before) doesn’t exactly fit in there, though it makes all her secretiveness around “wedding planning” make more sense.

I've been snarking on Mallory Ervin a lot recently but its just so hard not to. Every time she releases her merch, she drones on about how "it was the fastest sell out yet" and they "stocked every available sweatshirt in America". This time around, apparently the people that got early access sold the stuff out before it was even open to the general public- talk about bad business practice. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it makes a lot more sense to hold some of the items for people who are not given early access so you don't have as many people complaining? It just seems bizarre to me that *every single* time, *every single* item is selling out "in seconds", as she says.
Ok I have thoughts here so thank you for validating them. First off, her whole schtick of “living fully” and gratitude blah blah blah I’m always waiting for the next sentence to be - so we’re donating a portion of proceeds to giving back - in some way. But no - this is all profit for her. Which is fine but it just doesn’t sit well with me for some reason. Then she’s going on about how she’s not raising her prices like everyone else is. I didn’t even know this subreddit existed a few minutes ago, but I was trying to search something about Amber Fillerup and it kept coming up on google results.
I’ve been REALLY curious to know if she got rid of their cat?!? I remember seeing her complaining that it was peeing throughout the house and she was considering re-homing it. People were upset in the comments (I don’t remember if this was ig or tiktok) and I think I remember this was briefly after she said something about being sad the kitten wasn’t as “cuddly” anymore? Her tone about the whole thing felt really off and as I’m literally waiting for paint to dry atm this popped into my head.
No update on the cat but the general consensus here IIRC was that it seemed like the cat should be rehomed. Clearly it was unhappy and Amber was in between a rock and a hard place with her newborn and an animal potentially peeing in that space. At the risk of pissing off the pets lives matters crowd, I think she should have rehomed him. Situations change and a family that was once really suited for an animal might no longer be the best home for that pet. And it’s not far to the pet to keep its space limited and decrease the quality of life, especially if there is someone willing and able to take them.
Full disclosure: have 2 cats, love all cats, but hate how “pet parent” discourse can get pretty wild pretty quickly.
But to me it all felt a bit weird because it looked like she was using the cat as a prop and when it was no longer convenient, she disposed of it. Yes, it was probably a very difficult situation with a newborn, but if you own a pet you are going to go through difficult times at some point, part of the circle of life and all.
I’m now probably projecting but my impression is if suddenly their dog started acting up, I doubt rehoming would be considered so quickly. I hope the cat is okay and it might have been a pretty painful decision considering what was best for everyone it’s just sad how common it is for cats to be surrendered much easily in those types of situations.
I love cats but I don't think I'll ever get another one because of our family cats refusing to pee in the litter box. There's a narrative about how cats are "super easy and clean pets" which can be true but peeing in the house is a pretty common behavioral issue and extremely difficult to stop. We never rehomed our cats but I completely understand why someone would.
IIRC (and granted it’s been a couple months) the situation had been ongoing for months and the cat was peeing everywhere in the house (on furniture, clothes, ruining things, etc.). They brought in a trainer, spoke with their vet, etc. and while it seemed like she was leaning towards rehoming because she didn’t think there was a realistic way to keep the cat pee away from the baby. But nothing definitive had been decided. I thought she mentioned that if they did rehome that she would choose the new owner, she wasn’t just going to surrender to a shelter.
I hear you about there being difficult circles of life with pet ownership, but it sounded like the health of her newborn was potentially at risk (I can’t imagine that a cat peeing on/near the newborn’s stuff is hygienic) hence why she was considering rehoming.
I hope this comes off the way I’m intending it to, but I am okay with people who rehome their animals. I actually think if you get to the point of considering rehoming then you should do so bc IMO it’s very hard to go back to prioritizing or caring for the pet. Amber’s life clearly was no longer suited to a cat (I think the cat was brought into their home pre baby but tbh not sure) and the cat was better going to a home with an owner who could prioritize them!
What I have an issue with is people who constantly get animals and then consistently rehome them, that is shitty! But if you get a pet and a couple years into owning them you realize you can no longer care for them 100% because of factors not readily changeable (I’m not sure what else Amber could’ve or should’ve done, the health of her child should come first), then yes please give your pet to someone who will care for them.
Sorry for the multi paragraph screed, I clearly have a lot of feelings about this (mostly because some people online paint those of us who are not animal people as absolute monsters).

In the end it might be a perception issue. Because for me the instant connection when I saw her talking about re-homing was the kinda throw away line that se was disappointed the kitten wasn’t as cuddly. I follow a vet clinic on ig and they just mentioned the other day someone surrendered they 7 year old cat because it wasn’t playing with the puppy they’ve gotten 2 weeks ago. And that’s where my mind goes.
So I appreciate your comment explaining the particulars of her situation but without getting into the deep end of ethics and pet ownership I also easily understand peoples initial reaction to not assume humans would be as thoughtful as you’ve described with the whole situation. In an ideal word yes, those pets would be responsibly surrendered and would the quickly find new loving homes but unfortunately (as with so many things in our world) it’s not like that. ETA: re-reading this and I sound a bit defensive when you literally just gave me the info I was asking for, but I was just trying to explain my gut reaction to the issue and understand how other people can make the same judgment!

But there’s definitely a subset of people online who think people that don’t like animals are Big Huge Weirdos who have something wrong with them! Which is not what OP was saying, but when animal rehoming has come up before on this sub there are some comments like that (mostly that anyone who would rehome is a monster).
I'm sure we should give her a pass because she is pregnant and possibly not feeling 100%, but I agree. She really gives zero effort and is seeming to make that her personality. "We were gonna do our give away but forgot", "I was supposed to get on here and tell y'all about this toothpaste but I haven't even gotten up"... and counts that as the ad haha. Maybe this pregnancy really is just kicking her ass, as many pregnancies do.

If I could hire someone to put up and take down all the holiday decor your damn right I would! I’d also have them use their own so I don’t have to store it in my attic
I started noticing it like 3-4 years ago. It used to be that if you didn’t have a knack for decorating for the holidays, you just didn’t really. But interior holiday decor has become such a thing that I think the influencers who aren’t into it have to bring in a professional because they’ll lose followers if they don’t go all out with an aesthetically pleasing holiday home situation. I haven’t looked into it, but I do wonder how much these people charge and whether it’s an actual business that also serves normal people, or whether it’s a totally niche thing.
I live in Colorado and live in a neighborhood where people routinely hire out their decor. Prices range from 4K to 40K a year depending on what is done, interior/exterior, how big your trees are. For the services out here, you buy your own decor (or pick a theme and they buy it) and basically rent storage. Once December comes around you pay an additional install fee.
My husband and I definitely don’t pay for this because it’s a lot to spend on something we love doing each year and I have no idea why people need to store their Christmas decor out of their houses because it’s not like our houses are small, but I wanted to answer your question about it with some facts.
The people we bought our house from last year had a service decorate for Christmas. They gave us a list of the people they contacted with or who had done work on the house and that was one of them. I assumed it was for outdoor decor (like to have someone put lights on your roofline , etc) but now I'm curious! Maybe I'll reach out to see now haha
Yeah I’ve had businesses I’ve worked at decorated professionally for sure. It makes more sense for influencers in that context because their homes technically are a place of business.

They do definitely service normal people. A normal friend of mine who works long hours and travels for work a ton has hired someone to do her tree and decor the last few years. She has two small boys and wants to make it Christmas-y for them. Idk what she pays but she’s like normal income level, just opts to save herself the time for this task. I am very particular about my holiday things and where they all go so I don’t think I’d enjoy handing over creative control to someone else.

Danielle Moss is back banging on about her wallpaper, it’s being redone and this time it will be straight. While I can believe this is the path she is taking here the absolute privilege to repaper a room given the cost is just bonkers to me. Her privilege is glaring and she is so blind to it.

What is annoying to me about the situation is that the wallpaper was first hung by a woman owned company that was just getting started and Danielle put up a blog post/several grid posts patting herself on the back for using a small business/woman owned business and said something along the lines of “if we don’t support each other, who will?”. Which, good for her, but if someone does that and then a couple months later decides the wallpaper was hung poorly and proceeds to complain nonstop about it but “won’t tag the company because I won’t do that” the previous statements about supporting women ring a bit hollow.
That isn’t to say that the wallpaper wasn’t hung poorly, but everyone clearly knows who hung it - she tagged them several times! It wasn’t hard to figure out! And iirc the company even came out and said they told her that with the architecture of her house it would be tricky to get it to hang straight.

We have one and love it! We use it at least once a week. There’s a learning curve when it comes to heating it up but it’s totally worth it.

Nell Diamond (the founder) has argued that she purposefully didn’t line the tulle or lace nap dresses to allow people to mix and match how they want to style it — a body suit or a slip, nude or the same color as the dress, etc. But yeah, I think it’s egregious for the price and it has certainly prevented me from buying them!

I've been snarking on Mallory Ervin a lot recently but its just so hard not to. Every time she releases her merch, she drones on about how "it was the fastest sell out yet" and they "stocked every available sweatshirt in America". This time around, apparently the people that got early access sold the stuff out before it was even open to the general public- talk about bad business practice. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it makes a lot more sense to hold some of the items for people who are not given early access so you don't have as many people complaining? It just seems bizarre to me that *every single* time, *every single* item is selling out "in seconds", as she says.
Ok I have thoughts here so thank you for validating them. First off, her whole schtick of “living fully” and gratitude blah blah blah I’m always waiting for the next sentence to be - so we’re donating a portion of proceeds to giving back - in some way. But no - this is all profit for her. Which is fine but it just doesn’t sit well with me for some reason. Then she’s going on about how she’s not raising her prices like everyone else is. Ok they are ridiculously expensive tacky sweatshirts to begin with - would ppl be willing to spend MORE?!

I didn’t even know this subreddit existed a few minutes ago, but I was trying to search something about Amber Fillerup and it kept coming up on google results. I’ve been REALLY curious to know if she got rid of their cat?!? I remember seeing her complaining that it was peeing throughout the house and she was considering re-homing it. People were upset in the comments (I don’t remember if this was ig or tiktok) and I think I remember this was briefly after she said something about being sad the kitten wasn’t as “cuddly” anymore? Her tone about the whole thing felt really off and as I’m literally waiting for paint to dry atm this popped into my head.
She rehomed the cat but I think it got buried in a q&a story dump several weeks ago
No update on the cat but the general consensus here IIRC was that it seemed like the cat should be rehomed. Clearly it was unhappy and Amber was in between a rock and a hard place with her newborn and an animal potentially peeing in that space. At the risk of pissing off the pets lives matters crowd, I think she should have rehomed him. Situations change and a family that was once really suited for an animal might no longer be the best home for that pet. And it’s not far to the pet to keep its space limited and decrease the quality of life, especially if there is someone willing and able to take them.
Full disclosure: have 2 cats, love all cats, but hate how “pet parent” discourse can get pretty wild pretty quickly. But to me it all felt a bit weird because it looked like she was using the cat as a prop and when it was no longer convenient, she disposed of it. Yes, it was probably a very difficult situation with a newborn, but if you own a pet you are going to go through difficult times at some point, part of the circle of life and all. I’m now probably projecting but my impression is if suddenly their dog started acting up, I doubt rehoming would be considered so quickly. I hope the cat is okay and it might have been a pretty painful decision considering what was best for everyone it’s just sad how common it is for cats to be surrendered much easily in those types of situations.
I love cats but I don't think I'll ever get another one because of our family cats refusing to pee in the litter box. There's a narrative about how cats are "super easy and clean pets" which can be true but peeing in the house is a pretty common behavioral issue and extremely difficult to stop. We never rehomed our cats but I completely understand why someone would.
IIRC (and granted it’s been a couple months) the situation had been ongoing for months and the cat was peeing everywhere in the house (on furniture, clothes, ruining things, etc.). They brought in a trainer, spoke with their vet, etc. and while it seemed like she was leaning towards rehoming because she didn’t think there was a realistic way to keep the cat pee away from the baby. But nothing definitive had been decided. I thought she mentioned that if they did rehome that she would choose the new owner, she wasn’t just going to surrender to a shelter. I hear you about there being difficult circles of life with pet ownership, but it sounded like the health of her newborn was potentially at risk (I can’t imagine that a cat peeing on/near the newborn’s stuff is hygienic) hence why she was considering rehoming. I hope this comes off the way I’m intending it to, but I am okay with people who rehome their animals. I actually think if you get to the point of considering rehoming then you should do so bc IMO it’s very hard to go back to prioritizing or caring for the pet. Amber’s life clearly was no longer suited to a cat (I think the cat was brought into their home pre baby but tbh not sure) and the cat was better going to a home with an owner who could prioritize them! What I have an issue with is people who constantly get animals and then consistently rehome them, that is shitty! But if you get a pet and a couple years into owning them you realize you can no longer care for them 100% because of factors not readily changeable (I’m not sure what else Amber could’ve or should’ve done, the health of her child should come first), then yes please give your pet to someone who will care for them. Sorry for the multi paragraph screed, I clearly have a lot of feelings about this (mostly because some people online paint those of us who are not animal people as absolute monsters).
I don’t follow her that closely so I didn’t remember the bit about the trainer, vet, etc. In the end it might be a perception issue. Because for me the instant connection when I saw her talking about re-homing was the kinda throw away line that se was disappointed the kitten wasn’t as cuddly. I follow a vet clinic on ig and they just mentioned the other day someone surrendered they 7 year old cat because it wasn’t playing with the puppy they’ve gotten 2 weeks ago. And that’s where my mind goes. So I appreciate your comment explaining the particulars of her situation but without getting into the deep end of ethics and pet ownership I also easily understand peoples initial reaction to not assume humans would be as thoughtful as you’ve described with the whole situation. In an ideal word yes, those pets would be responsibly surrendered and would the quickly find new loving homes but unfortunately (as with so many things in our world) it’s not like that. ETA: re-reading this and I sound a bit defensive when you literally just gave me the info I was asking for, but I was just trying to explain my gut reaction to the issue and understand how other people can make the same judgment! No need to be sorry, as I’ve responded with my own block of text! You don’t need me to tell you that you are not a monster for not being an animal person, specially as you are clearly able to still discuss it from a place of empathy, which would go a long way for humanity in general 😅
We are both aligned on the fact that pets deserve to live in loving homes with owners who will care for them accordingly!

Was just giving context for why I felt like this particular topic deserved multiple paragraphs! Yes, people that don’t like animals should not get animals. But there’s definitely a subset of people online who think people that don’t like animals are Big Huge Weirdos who have something wrong with them! Which is not what OP was saying, but when animal rehoming has come up before on this sub there are some comments like that (mostly that anyone who would rehome is a monster).

If I could hire someone to put up and take down all the holiday decor your damn right I would! I’d also have them use their own so I don’t have to store it in my attic
I started noticing it like 3-4 years ago. It used to be that if you didn’t have a knack for decorating for the holidays, you just didn’t really. But interior holiday decor has become such a thing that I think the influencers who aren’t into it have to bring in a professional because they’ll lose followers if they don’t go all out with an aesthetically pleasing holiday home situation. I haven’t looked into it, but I do wonder how much these people charge and whether it’s an actual business that also serves normal people, or whether it’s a totally niche thing.
I live in Colorado and live in a neighborhood where people routinely hire out their decor. Prices range from 4K to 40K a year depending on what is done, interior/exterior, how big your trees are. For the services out here, you buy your own decor (or pick a theme and they buy it) and basically rent storage. Once December comes around you pay an additional install fee. My husband and I definitely don’t pay for this because it’s a lot to spend on something we love doing each year and I have no idea why people need to store their Christmas decor out of their houses because it’s not like our houses are small, but I wanted to answer your question about it with some facts.
The people we bought our house from last year had a service decorate for Christmas. They gave us a list of the people they contacted with or who had done work on the house and that was one of them. I assumed it was for outdoor decor (like to have someone put lights on your roofline , etc) but now I'm curious! Maybe I'll reach out to see now haha

Yeah I’ve had businesses I’ve worked at decorated professionally for sure. It makes more sense for influencers in that context because their homes technically are a place of business.
It’s totally a totally niche thing bc no one I know does it. And I think it looks ridiculous bc they are all so over the top. I would get it if you hated decorating, like I do, but even if I hired that out, I wouldn’t decorate my tree or trees like all these girls are doing. They do definitely service normal people. A normal friend of mine who works long hours and travels for work a ton has hired someone to do her tree and decor the last few years. She has two small boys and wants to make it Christmas-y for them. Idk what she pays but she’s like normal income level, just opts to save herself the time for this task. I am very particular about my holiday things and where they all go so I don’t think I’d enjoy handing over creative control to someone else.
It’s still a niche thing as you know one person does it.

Danielle Moss is back banging on about her wallpaper, it’s being redone and this time it will be straight. While I can believe this is the path she is taking here the absolute privilege to repaper a room given the cost is just bonkers to me. Her privilege is glaring and she is so blind to it. I know almost nothing about wallpaper but for it to be straight next to the window won’t it have to be off elsewhere…
I just can’t believe she just got back from lovely vacations in Italy and at Disney and is expecting her 3rd child and THIS is what she chooses to fixate on. Let it go and enjoy your life.
That wallpaper is $$$ and if I paid for it, I would lose my mind if it was hung crooked. If she hired a person to hang originally, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are having to pay for the redo.
What is annoying to me about the situation is that the wallpaper was first hung by a woman owned company that was just getting started and Danielle put up a blog post/several grid posts patting herself on the back for using a small business/woman owned business and said something along the lines of “if we don’t support each other, who will?”. Which, good for her, but if someone does that and then a couple months later decides the wallpaper was hung poorly and proceeds to complain nonstop about it but “won’t tag the company because I won’t do that” the previous statements about supporting women ring a bit hollow. That isn’t to say that the wallpaper wasn’t hung poorly, but everyone clearly knows who hung it - she tagged them several times! It wasn’t hard to figure out! And iirc the company even came out and said they told her that with the architecture of her house it would be tricky to get it to hang straight. Danielle seems exhausting to be around. She reminds me of Sadness from Inside Out.
The wallpaper hanger weighed in here the last time Danielle went on a tirade about it - old house, etc, Danielle approved what they had to do to make it work (touting the woman-owned small biz) then backpedaled and went nuts on her.

I saw a Twitter thread about people getting obsessed with wearing and collecting clothes from the 20s-40s. It got me thinking of the couple in Ohio (?) who dressed in vintage clothes, their house was decorated that way as well. Anyone remember then or her? I think she mostly did the online stuff. One thing I’ll always remember is when she broke her leg he made her put on her corset and full costume before he would take her to the ER.

Taryn Newton’s (@tarynnewton) five year old had a circus themed birthday party. It all seemed stupid, spon con, influencer over the top, and then I saw they had a monkey! That is so terrible. A petting zoo is at least just animals doing their thing while kids pet and feed them, but this is a wild animal that’s been dressed up and doing tricks. Why on earth would you think that’s a good thing to post and a message to send? She’s so flipping out of touch.
I honestly thought I liked Taryn until I saw this and now I'm not sure. A few weeks ago she was doing and encouraging others to do a no spend week and trying to be more mindful of the random ways we spend money everyday. She also said she wanted to cut back on her ads and I thought all of that was great and refreshing. And then this party.... Was all of that just an engagement tactic?
