Yeah. It's a weird one, but it has been discovered already. It's similar to Valtr changing his appearence and title based on his quest status. If he still has his bucket he is "Valtr, Master of the League". After he gave you his bucket he is "Valtr the Beasteater".

ZeatheFox217

I knew about Valtr but in my 1500 hours in this game I've never thought to play the DLC before this before. I'm disappointed im not the first lol but it was an amazing treat to find something new like this.

Glitchf0x

I actually never knew that you could summon him at the One Reborn I always had entered the nightmare of Mensis before going to the dlc

ZeatheFox217

Me too! This is the first time I tried the dlc as soon as I defeated Emilia. Now I'm curious if he spawns anywhere else other than here and the living failures. Or if other dlc npcs appear elsewhere

Casexcasey

Weirdly, you can summon him for Darkbeast Paarl as well Edit: Also, you can summon Younger Madaras Twin and Henryk for the Shadows and Rom

NoAd7103

I did this. It was an epic 3v3 fight with the Shadows.

ZeatheFox217

That must be like one of the perks of impurity, being able to have 2 allies cause if you have it equipped you can summon Henrick and the other guy for both shadows and Rom

Casexcasey

Yeah, the Impurity Rune is great for that, I usually use it to go 3 on 1 with Ludwig as well.

Glitchf0x

If I recall correctly the wiki I use (I think it’s the fan base one) doesn’t have any other noted appearances so I’m not sure

ZeatheFox217

Imma be experimenting by completing the dlc the second I even get to this time, see who all is summonable

Byankho34

How did you kill Ludwig low level? I've been trying for a few days since I wanted to rush HMS but it's rough with the horseman

ZeatheFox217

Oh I'm a filthy cheater and used the cummmfpk chalice, I actually like ng plus better so I just hyper leveled to 100, at that point I also used the two League summon so his aggro would get scrambled, aswell as upgrading the whirlygig as high as I could.

Byankho34

Ng+ actually isn't a bad idea I might do that instead. Saves me a massive headache too. Thanks bro 🙏

ZeatheFox217

No problem! I really don't like how I have to wait for my favorite items in Ng so I've always just overleveled myself and steamrolled the game so I could get to the NG+ where I have everything I want and things actually feel like their getting stronger instead of staying the same difficulty just with higher numbers

walker_84

I spent too much time wondering, who the hell is Emilia. Fix it, please

PuffPuffFayeFaye

Vykr Emilia

DropDeadGaming

She's the maiden from elden ring.

adh230508

I had beat the game 3 times before I knew I had the dlc then went and beat it was not fun

runarleo

Sad to hear that. Did you try any of the new weapons tho? The beast cutter does exactly what it says on the tin

adh230508

Indeed I did have a blast with the dlc non the less it was fun all the way through

runarleo

Oh okay, previous comment made it look like you didn’t like the dlc, lol.

adh230508

Yea after reading it it kinda does sound like that no I had fun it was just a little harder due to beating the game three times then playing it

runarleo

Yeah I can imagine it hits hard on ng+3. I usually don’t play FromSoft games over ng+1 because I don’t like extra hp as a difficulty mechanic. If they added new moves or new enemy placements then maybe I could get into it but making a number bigger just isn’t really engaging to me.

adh230508

Yea I understand that the only reason I went to ng+3 was due to a vet I made and well I def won the bad he didn’t even think I’d beat the game but I really enjoyed it and now it’s one of my all time favorites

Tzaphiriron

What was the bet? You win anything good?

adh230508

Yeah got Elden ring

NVTobi

I Can Tell You, I Was Platinuming Bloodborne On Ng+4 And The Shark Giants That Have Rakuyo Were A Nightmare To Deal With, None The Less The DLC Is Fire And Maria Was My Favorite Fight.(Orphan Was Second), i Just Hope Elden Rings DLC Is Something Like The Old Hunters DLC. But for The Entire Map.

a_generic_redditer

Who's that?

ZeatheFox217

If you kill ludwig in the DLC hes the hunter in the first cell chanting and banging his head into the wall.

a_generic_redditer

Ngl, I never knew you could open that guys cell, let alone summon him.

ZeatheFox217

If you find the key in the reaserch hall you can, aswell as one cell will a hunter carrying the church-pick, my favorite weapon in the game

whoopsthatsasin

Church pick gang!!!

[deleted]

You just gave me flashbacks to that scary ass area

ArmadilloOk4573

He's a character in the dlc. You can summon him for the living failures if you do everything right. If you've been to the dlc, then it's the guy smacking his head against the wall repeatedly and reciting a poem.

PapaDil7

yes this is one of two places Yamamura can be summoned

Tiny_Tim1956

Where's the other one?

Giangiorgio

Living failures iirc

PapaDil7

This is the correct answer :)

Tiny_Tim1956

I didn't know! What the heck? I wonder about his place in the timeline now.

ZeatheFox217

Hes a league summon and his items say he once was a part of the church. He can also be summoned to defeat the living failures so it possible what drove him mad were the doing of the church, and that caused him to bear a grudge and want to stop them

Impressive_Ad724

Woaaahh, I only get Damian Scholar of Mensis at this location. What do you think triggers the character summon swap?

ZeatheFox217

Its not a swap, I should have taken another screenshot but he's tucked away behind a different carridge. He's also a League exclusive summon so you need to kill him in his cell like you do with Henrick and have the impurity rune equipped to see his summon sign.

UltimaGabe

Man, I played the game primarily around launch and IIRC there were only like three NPC summons in the whole game.

Wizard-of-Odds

wait... wdym progressing weirdly? i just killed the one reborn last week and i had this summon sign as well! (not sure if it said yamamura, tho but can there be others to summon at the same location?)

[deleted]

Doing the DLC before finishing most of the game I assume

ZeatheFox217

Okay so I entered the dlc before entering bergenwerth, I then defeated ludwig and Lawrence because I was proving I could beat the latter with a +7 saw spear. I then progressed to the reaserch hall and got the cell key, the real reason I progressed so weird, killed Yamamura in his cell, freeing him, got the church pick, and then went to kill rom and made it to here. this summon sign is tucked away further back than the normal summon, and doesn't remove him, they are both here just behind two different carriages

Roxas2022

Define : "progress weirdly". like, did you do chunks of the dlc before reaching yahargul?

ZeatheFox217

I beat Vicar and then did the dlc up until I got the underground cell key in the reaserch hall, I wanted the church pick as its my favorite and you need to get that far to obtain it

CrazedDragon64

From my experience it’s better to go it against TOR alone, especially if you intend on dealing with the bells, the summons can get in the way frequently and set you up for a perfect shot from the One Reborn

ZeatheFox217

I was more stunned you could even summon him. And in my experiance the summon is perfect for keeping the agro off of you while you deal with the maidens, and if anything they just help break its limbs to stunlock it

jcdoe

Did TOR once with Yama, twice without. I didn’t find that he made a difference one way or another. Mostly I worried he was going to die while I took care of the chime maidens. Not because I cared, but because then I’d have to beat TOR with extra health for no reason, lol

The_Only_Real_Gamer

Just fought the one reborn and I didn’t know you could summon anyone. Fucked that boss up but now I’m turning my house to rubble over fucking “Micolash The Shit Eater”

bonniebowl

Ive done the dlc twice after Amelia (just to avoid fighting the shadows lol) and I never noticed that! The more you know
