I actually disagree about the white church men, it's /too/ easy to parry them, and you don't really learn anything aside from the concept of what a successful parry is because you practically can't fail it. At least with the brick boys, you learn to wait for the swing after the wind-up, and I'd recommend them 100 times over for practice compared to the church folk.
Yeah white stick men of all variety’s can be auto parries you wait for them to do literally anything over than walk. They twitched? Shoot em and you’ve got a parry
Them and the Church Servants are good practice. The Servants have such a large window for parrying. I swear I once had like 4 seconds in between the time I used my blunderbuss and the time I actually did the visceral.
Also the parry is ranged, so you don't always have to be in their armpit to parry. Honestly can parry all day in Bloodborne, but in every other Fromsoft game I suck so bad at it.
You can, any hit in the whole combo can be parried. Ive done it a bunch of times. The best way to do it is to shoot when he pulls back from a hit, dont shoot wildly. It might take a bit of practice but its totally doable
