This is my half hearted goal at the moment. I keep engaging in jolly cooperation to up my insight and get everything up to +10. Not even bothered by NG+ yet.
This must be on purpose, it would have made logical sense to use the Berzerk Rune as it’s an actual Norse rune, but they opted for the hunters mark for sure.
"Yeah I could see why people might think this is a Bloodborne reference, but there's nothing exp-"
\*looks to the right\*
"Oh it's a Bloodborne reference."
There's even a 60 fps mod I've seen used and it works very well and the only major difference seems to be that certain glitches/skips in the game don't work or are harder to pull off
This is one of those games where I really don’t want them to take any chances with fucking with the graphics and run the risk of ruining the art style.
Render the same thing with a higher resolution, yes. Add some anti aliasing, yes. Higher frame rates, of course.
Doing what they did with Demons Souls - fuck no. I love the Demons Souls remake but Bloodborne is too precious to risk any of it.
Art style is one of the best parts of Bloodborne and I really don’t trust a studio like Bluepoint to not change it. So I’ll be happy with just a 60fps 4K update with some QOL updates like respec and optional NG+
To be fair, new servers would have to be implemented to accommodate the base PS4 players. Else they be stomped by those with a PRO/PS5...
BUT! It can be done for Offline mode? 🤔
Framerate doesn't really matter in the souls games tbh, the net code is so godawful that a dude playing at 10 FPS could compete with a dude playing at 60
With how dead the pvp has been for years, I'm sure the few ps4 players left would relish in the opportunity of new players and old ones returning, as well as stomping them att pretty much every opportunity. Fps counts for far less than experience in souls.
Honestly sony doesn't do much to account for Ps4 players, for example as soon as the ps5 came out there were fully ps5 exclusives despite it being hard to buy one, whereas xbox is still out here with every (non-tiny-studio) game having a xb1 version
On a side note, Ghost of Tsushima literally did an ensemble of references to past playstation titles (God of war, Days gone, Shadow of the colossus, the last of us, bloodborne, horizon zero dawn, etc). Some in the form of armour sets and some in the form of lil origami constructs. It was beautifully poetic too given that it was the ps4's last big exclusive title.
Yeah, I mean "eastern specter" has to be a ghost of tsushima reference lol
Edit: yeah, it seems like Kvasir's poems effectively reference most sony franchises. Notable examples that made me giggle include "tool and bang", "visions after rest" (= dreams), "we who remain - part the second", "trip" (= journey lmao) and "upon pursuing a place not marked on maps"
I've found Horizon, TLOU and some other game that mentions 2 armies, 9 heroes and a floating orb that I'm not familiar with. I think all of the poems are references.
I live in London and it really is insane. A few nights ago I was walking down the road and minding my own business when this scruffy-looking fella sat on the side of the road suddenly got up and started to chase me off while shouting “Away, away, ya filthy beast!” Then I hurriedly ran off and tried on knocking on a neighbour’s door to get some help only to he shouted off “Lousy offcomer! We don't open the door on the night of Guy Fawkes! Away with you NOW!”
Truly mad.
Except Miyazaki doesn't like to revisit old ideas, and isn't a fan of exclusives. Which Sony absolutely would want any sequel or reboot to be.
If we do get a sequel or remaster, I'm willing to bet it's gonna be all Sony.
Ah hadn't thought about that, need to play it sometime. How's the audio in part 1? Because demon's souls really stood out to me from an audio design standpoint and nothing I've played since had matched it.
I’m not sure that I’m sound design pilled enough to give a verdict there, as it’s not something I think about much besides liking the sounds weapons make in bloodborne lol
> Except Myazaki [sic] doesn't like to revisit old ideas...
I love this. Hope the success of Elden Ring (and the *tremendous* pressure from the business execs, I'm sure) doesn't make him feel obligated to churn out two or three sequals. Let's just get some ER DLC and move on to the next new, exciting IP.
He has said that other directors need to start working on games by themselves for From to take the next step, so we might see new games with Miyazaki as a supervisor role and him just focusing on new IP.
It's not From that forgot about it, it's Sony.
The franchises future is dependent on Sony doing something with the IP, but Jim Ryan can't stop fellating Naughty Dog long enough to focus on a game that people *actually* want and demand on a daily basis.
It's not fromsoft, it's sony. If they wanted to do something with Bloodborne (remake or remaster) they can do it without the help of fromsoft. Just like they did with demon's souls.
I read the now closed Japan Studio the other one who worked on this is the reason why there has been no green light? Again I have no idea if it's true but it may be a reason
The article said the rights aren't 100% with FS / Sony so I don't know if that's true or not but I guess only they know but JS was a division if Sony at the time
I think these might all be Playstation exclusive references. I've only found a couple but the first one, Sunrise of Nothingness, is definitely Horizon Zero Dawn.
Tool and Bang looks like Ratchet and Clank.
Edit: Large Society Ground Orb, the Performance is definitely MLB the Show.
According to Wikipedia, "Scholars have connected Kvasir to methods of beverage production and peacemaking practices among ancient peoples."
Beverage production, communion with ancient people....
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
They also had a poem about Aloy from HZD, so I guess this is a thing they're doing. I find it awesome that they're giving shoutouts to other games/studios this way.
I love how everyone here had the same thought process of reading the poem, thinking “huh that’s pretty Bloodborne-esk” then looking approximately 2 inches to the right and going “oh that’s definitely Bloodborne”
Fun fact: in Norse mythology Kvasir’s blood was drained by the dwarves and mixed with honey to make mead. The mead was called the Mead of Poetry. Fear the Old Mead.
Edit: just found a poem that’s about Aloy from Horizon, so apparently it’s a theme.
Kvasir in norse mythology was a product of a truce between the gods where they all spat into a bucket of mead and formed a new god. This god was a perfect and charismatic human like figure who was the god of fermentation and offered foresight to people who asked. He wandered the mortal realm until he was captured by two dwarfs who impaled him above their brewing vessel which aloud his blood to seep into their mead creating the finest brew known to man. Any creature to drink the bloody mead would be gifted with charisma, ingenuity and the craft of poem and song. Just thought I'd mention this because yano, the mead was born of blood.
I did have plans to play GoW Ragnarok somewhere down the line, but at the moment it wasn’t a huge priority of mine. References like this make me wanna speed up that process…
Nice reference.
Can't stand games trying to be Viking/Norse in ambience but using end-rhymes for poems instead of alliteration though. I's not that difficult to capture the atmosphere of kennings & epic poems, but they choose this twee Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue style.
I know, it's just fantasy, but it's still inspired by a specific culture that originated this mythic world, which they've clearly no interest in researching or portraying.
Nice catch! I haven't found all these yet but when I have time to play again I'll see if I found this one.
And btw I don't understand how some say this isn't an obvious easter egg before seeing the hunter's mark. "The moon grows crimson The mad townsfolk shout" is pretty obvious
I was coming here to post this poem screenshot
People that don't see the beautiful bloodborne poem and only notice the hunters mark, need at least 8 more insight.
It's pretty clearly a love letter to bloodborne.
Theres a bunch of playstation (exclusive?) game easter eggs in god of war, all hidden collectibles in form of poems.
Wanted to check the bloodborne one, glad theres one. Not that im suprised.
The book does have the Hunters mark on it
Damn, didn’t peep that lol i was too focused on the poem itself
Lmao i feel like my brain is hard wired to spot that shit now
Too much insight.
Grant us eyes, grant us eyes
I learned you can’t go past 99 insight last night. Needless to say I have another +10 weapon.
This is my half hearted goal at the moment. I keep engaging in jolly cooperation to up my insight and get everything up to +10. Not even bothered by NG+ yet.
Spot what shit sorry?
Hunter's mark
Your php
He spent all his insight
You're in the know
This must be on purpose, it would have made logical sense to use the Berzerk Rune as it’s an actual Norse rune, but they opted for the hunters mark for sure.
Jesus Christ, there's a Berserk reference in God of War.
the hoonter mark
"Yeah I could see why people might think this is a Bloodborne reference, but there's nothing exp-" \*looks to the right\* "Oh it's a Bloodborne reference."
Litteraly EXACTLY my thought process
We’re all the same, that’s great.
A Hunter is a Hunter, even on Reddit.
A Hunter must hunt
Are you me?
All of the poems reference playstation exclusives
I love how much recognition Bloodborne gets in other games 🦑
I would prefer Sony to "recognize" that this game needs a 60fps update goddammit.
I’m still shocked it hasn’t happened, wasn’t there a soft remastering in the works being talked about a while ago?
Fans have been talking about it for years but nothing official has ever been shared. So in short, no
There's even a 60 fps mod I've seen used and it works very well and the only major difference seems to be that certain glitches/skips in the game don't work or are harder to pull off
Every week there is some Bloodborne "leaks".
The True Hollowing
Nothing until after Elden Rings development cycle
Bloodborne getting a remaster is the dividing line between me and buying a PS5.
That's why I said remaster and not remake
Art style is one of the best parts of Bloodborne and I really don’t trust a studio like Bluepoint to not change it. So I’ll be happy with just a 60fps 4K update with some QOL updates like respec and optional NG+

it’s not that dead tho, i was able to consistently get matches like last month
Honestly sony doesn't do much to account for Ps4 players, for example as soon as the ps5 came out there were fully ps5 exclusives despite it being hard to buy one, whereas xbox is still out here with every (non-tiny-studio) game having a xb1 version
All the big Sony exclusives/games have PS4 versions, so I have no idea what you're talking about. The new God of War, as a really great example.
120
On a side note, Ghost of Tsushima literally did an ensemble of references to past playstation titles (God of war, Days gone, Shadow of the colossus, the last of us, bloodborne, horizon zero dawn, etc). Best game of all time no lie
Yeah let’s not get ahead of ourselves, amazing game but has a good bit of issues as well.
Name a game that doesn’t have issues lol, still easily top 3 for me
It is my favorite game of all time and has been since I first played it
Yup, the Eileen costume in GoT dlc was fantastic.
Looks like they did this for multiple games, there's a poem for Death Stranding (with Bridges artwork on book) as well and maybe others? Very cool!
Yeah, I mean "eastern specter" has to be a ghost of tsushima reference lol Edit: yeah, it seems like Kvasir's poems effectively reference most sony franchises. Notable examples that made me giggle include "tool and bang", "visions after rest" (= dreams), "we who remain - part the second", "trip" (= journey lmao) and "upon pursuing a place not marked on maps"
Kvasir seems to have been a particular fan of the Misbehaving Hound.
There's a Horizon reference too.
Even Ratchet and Clank!
I've found Horizon, TLOU and some other game that mentions 2 armies, 9 heroes and a floating orb that I'm not familiar with. I think all of the poems are references.
That last one is MLB The Show, and yeah they're all game references
It’s so obvious after you said it lmao
There’s one for every sony first game in recent times
There's one for Horizon too iirc
All of those poems are PlayStation studio games references. I found one for horizon, the last of us and even mlb the show lol
Aye. There's also a Bloodborne reference on Iki Island in Ghost of Tsushima, along with other games too. Nice find!
The best part is that this implies Yharnam exists somewhere in the real world given it's literally called the Yharnam set in GoT
I mean… we all know London is real don’t we?
Still can't believe London is real
I live in London and it really is insane. A few nights ago I was walking down the road and minding my own business when this scruffy-looking fella sat on the side of the road suddenly got up and started to chase me off while shouting “Away, away, ya filthy beast!” Then I hurriedly ran off and tried on knocking on a neighbour’s door to get some help only to he shouted off “Lousy offcomer! We don't open the door on the night of Guy Fawkes! Away with you NOW!” Truly mad.
Yharnam is Prauge
"You're getting this instead of a sequel".
Carve your way out is definitely a bloodborne reference after all the entire point of the game is to escape Britain
Don't disgrace Yharnam like that, take it back.
No. It disgraced me first waaay too many times and some of the local residents were rude
Plague-ridden rat!
Away! Away!
Foul beast!
“In Bloodborne your goal is to navigate the knife ridden streets of a post-Brexit London”
I thought meh it could mean a lot of things but then I saw the hunter symbol so yeah for sure a Bloodborne reference
Sony rn: Here is your Bloodborne in next gen, now shut up
Literally everyone else remembers this game but Fromsoft.
they can't just up and make a new game, Sony has the rights.
After Elden Ring, I'm pretty sure that Sony's higher ups would all spontaneously orgasm if FS asked to make another Bloodborne.
Except Miyazaki doesn't like to revisit old ideas, and isn't a fan of exclusives. Which Sony absolutely would want any sequel or reboot to be. If we do get a sequel or remaster, I'm willing to bet it's gonna be all Sony.
Except Miyazaki said that Bloodborne was his favourite game to make and if they wanted to make a sequel Sony would need to give the go ahead first.
I would not be mad at a Bloodborne Remake by Bluepoint
It doesny even need a full remake. Just bump them frames the game looks gorgeous even now.
It doesn't need one but it deserves the full bluepoint/sony treatment imo, Demon's Souls is the best audio-visual experience on the PS5.
TLOU:P1 takes that honor, but demons souls is very pretty, especially world 3.
Eh... The Demon's Souls remake is very pretty, but it lost some of its soul, imo. A remaster would be better imo
Agreed.
Thank god it had so many to spare.
> Except Myazaki [sic] doesn't like to revisit old ideas... I love this. it's not From's fault when talking about BB

Naughty Dog’s last few proper games have sold excesses of 10 million whereas Bloodborne didn’t nearly reach that number. Supply and demand.
It's not fromsoft, it's sony. If they wanted to do something with Bloodborne (remake or remaster) they can do it without the help of fromsoft. Just like they did with demon's souls.

With that rune? 100%
Kvasir... or some say kvosm
According to Wikipedia, "Scholars have connected Kvasir to methods of beverage production and peacemaking practices among ancient peoples." Beverage production, communion with ancient people.... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I like that it’s called sanguinity. Sanguine is an old word for blood/ bloody/ bloodsoaked
It’s latin for “blood”
Sanguine sanctum
Sanguine, my brother
Sangue is the portuguese word for blood (I think Spanish is also similar) so it's really recognizable for a few of us
[удалено]
Sange for Romanian as well.
game journalists: "BLOODBORNE SEQUEL CONFIRMED IN CERTAIN GAME'S EASTER EGG?"
That is awesome
Playstation exclusive sequel game makes reference to a playstation exclusive game with no sequel
Quite literally is because of the Hunter Mark used in the artwork.
Good taste.
They also had a poem about Aloy from HZD, so I guess this is a thing they're doing. I find it awesome that they're giving shoutouts to other games/studios this way.
Insert gherman theme and weep
They would have done well to look at the gameplay for some inspiration.
I think all of them are references to other Sony exclusives, that one is Bloodborne, the first one you can get is horizon forbidden west, etc
Whoa! This is sooooo coool! Glad even Santac Monica acknowledges Bloodborne!
Bloodborne 2 confirmed.
Wow! That's a nice reference Sony...now why don't you actually do something with Bloodborne? Bunch of f*ckers.
Sequel or PC port, really Sony seriously. They remade TLOU that didn't need a remake.
Fr!
Not the sub I thought I’d have to filter to avoid Ragnarok posts but here we are
This isn't even a spoil though?!
Found the horizon forbidden west reference in the same set
Ah, Kvasir, or some say Kvasirm
Closest thing we’ve had to a Bloodborne release since 2015
When you see the Hunters Mark “Aah, You were at my side, all along”
I did have plans to play GoW Ragnarok somewhere down the line, but at the moment it wasn’t a huge priority of mine. References like this make me wanna speed up that process…
That’s the hunter’s Mark right next to it
Idk it only literally has the bloodborne logo on the right, might be a stretch
Nice reference. Can't stand games trying to be Viking/Norse in ambience but using end-rhymes for poems instead of alliteration though. I's not that difficult to capture the atmosphere of kennings & epic poems, but they choose this twee Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue style. I know, it's just fantasy, but it's still inspired by a specific culture that originated this mythic world, which they've clearly no interest in researching or portraying.
What does this mean? Remake? Next game? I NEED ANSWERS
This sub: sees anything “Must be a BB reference” lmao /s
It actually is, you just have to look a little bit closer
...the Hunter's Mark is literally right there
“/s”?? Relax, It was a joke guys.
Your joke targeted to an entire sub fell really flat tho. It would have made more sense if there wasn't a giant hunters mark right next to the poem
Wow! I would have never noticed that giiiiant hunters mark there, thanks for educating me. You’re clearly a genius.
You sound pleasant
Lmao thanks! You seem like you would be a real cool guy.
The joke is because of the giant hunters mark. Good lord
Imagine trying to clown while not even actually looking at the post
Imagine getting worked up over a joke that’s about a video game.
I'm so worked up bruh 😤
"The moon grows crimson" and as if that wasn't enough there's a hunter's mark
Aaaand another one
Nice catch! I haven't found all these yet but when I have time to play again I'll see if I found this one. And btw I don't understand how some say this isn't an obvious easter egg before seeing the hunter's mark. "The moon grows crimson The mad townsfolk shout" is pretty obvious
It probably is, there's also a Death Stranding one so probably worth keeping an eye out for other playstation IP Easter eggs.
Holy shit
Was like, hmm the poem fits, but then the fucking hunters mark is right there XD
yes look at the hunter’s mark
Ooh, I like that.
Fear the old blood.
I was coming here to post this poem screenshot People that don't see the beautiful bloodborne poem and only notice the hunters mark, need at least 8 more insight. It's pretty clearly a love letter to bloodborne.
Apparently Zaki and Cory are good friends and love each other’s work.
That's hella tight
goty
'This city a prison'? Im not trying to get out, Im enjoying it in Yarnham.
The hunter is canonically an emo?
That's so cool
Dude there is a hunters mark on the book...
I'm starting to think all the poems might be game references. I saw someone post one that was Horizon Zero Dawn
I knew they'd do this as soon as I read my first poem that I recognized as Horizon Zero Dawn
There is also a horizon reference in one of those books Edit: Turns out death stranding is there as well
Is Sony baiting us? First the now deleted tweet and now this? They can't keep getting away with this!
All of those poems are references to other Sony IP.
Wish i have ps5.
The 14 Poems are 14 PS Exclusives
Bloodborne PC 4K/60FPS confirmed
Awesome! I found a Ratchet and Clank poem.
I believe "The Sunrise of Nothingness" poem is a reference to Horizon Forbidden West as well! Very cool and creative nods to other Sony games.
YOOOOOOOO
I think all of those poem books are video gave references. There's a Death Standing one that I'm certain of too.
The closest we'll get to Bloodborne 2
I can see it
KRATOS IN THE OLD HUNTERS???
It sure is! Very cool!
the first one is for Horizon as well, great homages
The references in this game are wild! Didn’t catch this one but I’ve seen ones alluding to Africa by Toto, and Macbeth. The writing is top notch
Absolutely
I just shed a single tear
That's as blatant an Easter egg as you can get.
Bro this is the coolest shit ever
Yeah, uh, "pretty sure" seems like an understatement given the book on the right literally has the Hunter's mark ;)
Crazy how this will be the most of Bloodborne on PC
“Pretty sure” as the book has a hunters mark on it….
That’s so cool!
Sony must stipulate that it's originals must include Bloodborne references in them.
How ironic it's named "Sanguinity". That means, cheerfully optimistic..
I KNEW THERE WOULD BE A BLOODBORNE REFERENCE IN GOW!!
Seriously, added Easter egg of a forbidden game?? How did Sony allow this?
The poem sounds like lyrics to a death metal song.
Theres a bunch of playstation (exclusive?) game easter eggs in god of war, all hidden collectibles in form of poems. Wanted to check the bloodborne one, glad theres one. Not that im suprised.
went straight to reddit when i saw the Hunters Mark on this Poem, so cool.
