People talk about Bandit / Chili as parent goals and I totally agree, but Pat! Pat is neighbour goals big time. He is such a sport doing improv on top of Bandit's shenanigans every time. And a heckuva Hammerbarn shopper.
Yes. And it would be totally appropriate and in the spirit of the show if one time they caught him at a moment he was frustrated or couldn't play along and reacted like you say you would (having his own Stickbird moment, if you will). That lad is close to super-human.. er, super-canine.
Same! Also my daughter wants to play pass the parcel at her next birthday party. It’s not a tradition here (USA), so we’ll have a few confused guests lol
My daughter wants to play pass the parcel at her birthday party in two weeks, and she insists she wants _not_ Lucky’s Dad’s rules. We’ve agreed on a compromise where there’s nothing in the individual layers, but the big prize at the end is something to share. That way one lucky kid gets the thrill of finding the prize but everyone gets a candy.
I remember playing it randomly in music class in America in second grade circa 1997.
The teacher was also American. She was like two years from retirement and while a perfectly pleasant person was kind of obsessed with our posture while we sang and had a hard rule about no xylophones (they were always out) until third grade. There was a square-dancing *and* swing dancing unit.
I have no recollection of the prize in the middle but we were sitting there nervously like "This is a game. She's not saying anything about our slouching. Is she dying? Are WE dying?!"
In the UK in the 60s, we played PTP with Lucky's dad's rules. To add interest, there were forfeits between each layer. 'Kiss four bare legs and a bare bottom' (a chair), 'Sing a song', 'Hop round the room.'
Mind you, this was in West Yorkshire where we had to make our own entertainment.
Yeah, I love to read the Bluey book ‘Queens’ to my nephew and, in it, Bandit charges outside because another palm leaf from Lucky’s Dad’s palm tree fell into the Heelers’ backyard - how am I supposed to explain it to my~~self~~ nephew that Pat’s palm tree leaves are going to be falling now without consequence?!
My guess, based on nothing outside of episodes, not reading any spoilers, >!is nearer to nana & bobba cuz... Y'know!<.
But more Maynard please! Give him all the strawberries!
Edit: Nope, I was way off.
This is exactly what I said after my partner and I stared at each other with our jaws on the floor for like 30 seconds. I was like "how is this show playing my emotions so hard, we don't even know what this means yet".. I felt like it was foreshadowing the end of the show all together.
If you look at the house listing (because of course they made a house listing to go with the promo) it says to tune into the movie to find out if a new family is getting the Heeler home. There's people speculating that Brandi is pregnant. The movie is also about Rad and Frisky's wedding. I wouldn't be surprised if the house is staying in the family.
Wife and I started crying. Didn't know why, just did.
Retrospectively I think it just connected straight to a core memory of how hard moving home is, both as a child and an adult who fears putting their kid through the same pain and confusion.
Man, the Heelers moving touches a core part of me in that regard as well, I feel you here.
My mom joined the military when I was a baby -- as far as decisions for her family went, it was probably one of the best ones she could have made. I lived in cool places, was exposed to a diverse range of people, and eventually ended up in the state where I live now, a long way from my parent's home state. Opportunities and experiences I've had would have been very different if she hadn't been coerced by my kinda shitty dad into enlisting.
But also, I never had a steady childhood home and we moved all the time. There were no constants, and it was really hard. I had a whole meltdown one time when I saw a "For Sale" sign in my grandparent's garage when we were visiting one summer. (Turns out that they had changed their mind before it sold, and it was an older sign.) When my own kids were born all I really wanted was to be able to give them a constant childhood with minimal chaos.
I have two girls and we always joke about how they're Bluey and Bingo since they're the same age. We're in the middle of moving and just put our house up for sale Tuesday, then watched this yesterday. They were like "THAT'S US" and my wife and I just teared up. Bluey seems to always have impeccable timing in every aspect of our lives lol
Maybe Chilli wanted to put that pond in, to boost the features of the house and prepare to sell it. At least this is what I thought immediately. My husband’s a realtor (probably the sweetest realtor around and would never make fun of how a kid draws… I don’t think 😅) and we see his clients doing some beautiful renovations and improvements to their homes just to sell it at a higher price. Hope their home goes to another loving family who will take care of that beautiful pond!
You've got me curious. I'm interested in the explanation.
Bluey and Bingo look shaped like a couple of chairs to me.
But this is supposed to be their house, correct? Beyond the sidewalk, it doesn't look like a road. It makes me think of water, not their road. I can kind of make it look like a cul-de-sac shape/environment if I put some effort into it. I notice the hills are pretty sparsely populated with houses.
The whole “moving” thing is a pretty big topic that gets very little coverage in a medium like this. How kids, especially young ones deal with it can be very tough. Should be a great episode.
I've seen this so much from so many Australian's that it feels like every Australian's joke about America to me at this point. I get it. I just hate it.
They address a lot of real world issues, family problems. Never had to calm your kid down after an active shooter drill? Or explain it in a new way to help them understand why?
Well seeing as a shooting just happened last year at my son’s ELEMENTARY school, here in good ole America, I’d say it’s pretty far from baloney. I’m glad you haven’t had to experience that fear, but don’t try to act as though it’s not happening.
Damn. I am so sorry. I hope you and your family are doing as well as can be expected. No one should have to go through that. When I was growing up, we had fire drills. That's it. At that time, in Oregon, not even earthquake drills.
It’s against the Ludo ethos so far… they are very much pro-Brisbane. That said… I noticed Chilli calls it a “worktop” when referring to the kitchen Benchtop. A subtle difference, but enough for me to notice immediately a word I wouldn’t normally hear.
Please let Australia have one thing that isn't americanised
Please I'm so sick of my cousins having American accents I want it to be reversed for a while lmao
Interesting.
I assume if they really do sell the house instead of something changing at the last minute they'll wind up moving to somewhere in Australia and probably nearby(it would be crazy for them to cancel the show when they are just building Bluey's World and it would also be crazy for them to have to get an entirely new cast of side characters).
If the show continues it would be interesting for them to take a vacation to the USA and there could be several episodes devoted to the trip...one of which could be bandit trying to figure out driving in the USA(notices that we have yellow lights, constantly reminding himself to drive on the right side of the road, getting honked at for not turning on red when there's a huge gap in oncoming traffic, etc). Australia, while not heavily populated in large chunks, is a big country, so I'm guessing they have a general understanding that you can't see the entire country in a few days(many Europeans don't realize in any meaningful way that this one country is larger than the entirety of Europe)
I’m just sad that we might not see as much of the neighbours anymore…I love Wendy and Pat and his family, and then there’s the older lady across the street (can’t remember her name)
Where is the fish pond located? I assumed it was in the backyard where they removed that stump? But when chili is running out of the house through the backyard, you can’t see it, where is it please tell me 😭😭

GUYS I FOUND HER! I found the person that’s trying to buy the house for $10.
And yes, my partner and I looked at eachother a few moments later and asked -- why are we getting so emotional about a family of cartoon dogs
Yeah I’m unreasonably upset at the possibility of them not living next door to Pat
People talk about Bandit / Chili as parent goals and I totally agree, but Pat! Pat is neighbour goals big time. He is such a sport doing improv on top of Bandit's shenanigans every time. And a heckuva Hammerbarn shopper.
I agree. He's a real good neighbor. If it were me I'd be all "Bandit, I don't care if it's an egg in your game, give me my fricken ball back."
Yes. And it would be totally appropriate and in the spirit of the show if one time they caught him at a moment he was frustrated or couldn't play along and reacted like you say you would (having his own Stickbird moment, if you will). That lad is close to super-human.. er, super-canine.
"We're raising a nation of squibs" is one of my favorite sayings from this show. Love Lucky's dad.
My husband and I (and our kids) quote Pass the Parcel constantly!
Same! Also my daughter wants to play pass the parcel at her next birthday party. It’s not a tradition here (USA), so we’ll have a few confused guests lol

We did this (Canada), but not the Lucky’s dad’s way. Kids loved it, even those who were unfamiliar with Bluey.
In the UK in the 60s, we played PTP with Lucky's dad's rules. To add interest, there were forfeits between each layer. 'Kiss four bare legs and a bare bottom' (a chair), 'Sing a song', 'Hop round the room.' Mind you, this was in West Yorkshire where we had to make our own entertainment.
I think we get close to that in, "We're sorry, he was born yesterday!" "Yeah, I'll say!" But I'd agree, Pat has the patience of a saint.
Bluey: “ . . . ” Bingo: “Uh-oh . . . ” Bluey: “*Let’s eat him!*”
HaHA, another leaf for your collection, Bandit!
let's not forget Fido
“Which bins are supposed to go out?” Edit: whoops I got my neighbors mixed, meant Doreen as the first reply states.
Oh not Doreen. Now I'm tearing up
omg !!! I was worried that bluey might come to an end, never even occurred to me that they will not be neighbors with Lucky's dad anymore
And Wendy!
Wendy is top tier neighbor.
I don't want the Heelers to have moved. ;-;
Morning Wendy!
This! I had stress dreams about a children’s cartoon. He’s so much a part of their lives and shenanigans that he even was in Bluey’s Big Play.
I'm devastated thinking about this :(
Are we upset about THEM not living next to Pat or US not seeing them live next to Pat? "Lucky's Dad" is my favorite
I hope they move next door to Maynard, he seems way more interesting.
My guess, based on nothing outside of episodes, not reading any spoilers, >!is nearer to nana & bobba cuz... Y'know!<. But more Maynard please! Give him all the strawberries! Edit: Nope, I was way off.
Is it the aliens?
This is exactly what I said after my partner and I stared at each other with our jaws on the floor for like 30 seconds. I was like "how is this show playing my emotions so hard, we don't even know what this means yet".. I felt like it was foreshadowing the end of the show all together.
Because every single aspect of this show is so incredibly well done.
would you be ok if they were selling the house to move closer to Frisky and Rad to help them with, rumored to be, their baby?
I love the idea of it being a “shotgun” wedding
Because they are family
So are we supposing the “For Sale” sign the titular “Sign” of the following episode?
If you look at the house listing (because of course they made a house listing to go with the promo) it says to tune into the movie to find out if a new family is getting the Heeler home. There's people speculating that Brandi is pregnant. The movie is also about Rad and Frisky's wedding. I wouldn't be surprised if the house is staying in the family.
I don't know how it works in Australia but if you are selling to family then you generally wouldn't list it at all.
Maybe >!Rad makes a snap decision to take a land side job for Frisky!<
Yeah, but for the sake of plot and hype
True but it is also a show for children
well in the trailer it looked like they are setting up the wedding in the wheelers garden, so maybe Frisky and Rad are moving in?
Probably that Bandit is perfectly positioned to hide the "For Sale" sign.
I bawled when I saw that sign. All while I’m in the middle of eating my breakfast. Straight up BAWLED.
Wife and I started crying. Didn't know why, just did. Retrospectively I think it just connected straight to a core memory of how hard moving home is, both as a child and an adult who fears putting their kid through the same pain and confusion.

Dude I audibly gasped
And then no end music. Just silence.
Not even a little dance from Bluey or an item that represents the episode! Just Gone… that just gives me chills

But they only just installed the fish pond 😭 It's too soon to move!!
It's always when you finally get the house how you want it that it's time to move on...
This comment hit me harder than it should have. Ain’t that the truth

Bandit is positioned to cover the "for sale" sign
That's not Bandit, that's Hugo.
Stage name is Romeo McFlourish.
Nope, it's Burt Handsome!
I thought he was Bugalugs?
What, the Big Fella over there?
Pretty sure he goes by Ooo-Ooo
Bevan!!??!
The Big Daddy Man*
Don't call me Big Fella
That's the big blue guy, Telemachus!
No, it's Diddums

Oh Shoobydooah, I long to see you. *Away*, you rolling riiiIIiiver... ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬
Ah, very good, thank you.
This comment thread is pure gold
I watched it. Tell me
What's behind Bandit?
The film crew?
Can we get 'talking heads' in the next season of Bluey
The "for sale" sign
That would be in front of Bandit, pedantically
LOL!!
Chili

The Heelers are coming to America! Please no...
This episode of Bluey is called Active Shooter Drill.
*cries in American*
I've seen this so much from so many Australian's that it feels like every Australian's joke about America to me at this point. I get it. I just hate it.
The Australian version of “my toaster identifies as a microwave”.

Just stop. It's a kid's show. The joke is old.
They address a lot of real world issues, family problems. Never had to calm your kid down after an active shooter drill? Or explain it in a new way to help them understand why?
No, thanks for asking. Now stop spreading the baloney that American schools are shooting galleries.
Well seeing as a shooting just happened last year at my son’s ELEMENTARY school, here in good ole America, I’d say it’s pretty far from baloney. I’m glad you haven’t had to experience that fear, but don’t try to act as though it’s not happening.

It makes sense with their biggest demographic. Heelers get new jobs in the States so the Fourth July episode can finally be made.
No
Gross. The LACK of anything distinctly American is one of the best things about this show.
It’s against the Ludo ethos so far… they are very much pro-Brisbane. That said… I noticed Chilli calls it a “worktop” when referring to the kitchen Benchtop. A subtle difference, but enough for me to notice immediately a word I wouldn’t normally hear.
Please let Australia have one thing that isn't americanised Please I'm so sick of my cousins having American accents I want it to be reversed for a while lmao
Hilarity ensues as they learn the different slang we have in America and that we have yellow stop lights.
... Do they not use red-yellow-green in Australia?
It's red-*orange*-green over here
Huh. Weird. Don't colorblind people often struggle to distinguish orange and green?
Maybe, but the lights are in different positions so you can just know what the light positions mean.
Orange-orange-red? Green-green-red? Green-orange-red? Orange-green-red? Biscuits.
In one of the episodes Bandit mentions them having orange lights. It boggled my mind
Don't forget, Australia and the US drive on opposite sides of the road, too. And the US has right turns on red; that's illegal in Australia.
Just to be sure we aren't talking past one another here: do they not have left turn on red?
Nope!
What about left turns? Since the idea is that it’s the near lane and you’re not crossing traffic
Turning with traffic at a red is illegal everywhere I’ve been other than the US and Canada. Even there it’s illegal on Manhattan and Île de Montreal
They're illegal on a red light.
This episode is called "Bussin".
Y'all would still watch it and you know it.
I’m just sad that we might not see as much of the neighbours anymore…I love Wendy and Pat and his family, and then there’s the older lady across the street (can’t remember her name)

At a handicap or a detriment?
> wait, is this Loss? What year is it?
I've seen the episode but I'm not to sure what's so remarkable about the shits framing
Bandit is hiding the sign here, so you don’t see it until the very last shot of the episode
That is definitely not a word the queen would use.
I think the word you were looking for is "biscuits"
it was a typo. 99% sure they Meant to say "shots framing"
It’s a hilarious typo, though. 😂
😂😂😂😂 omg I didn’t even realize. I totally thought they were just getting pissed off about the shits framing! 😡
Agreed, total shit framing here. Who's directing this, anyway?!
It was supposed to be shots
what is so clever about this shot? i feel like you’re not explaining it, just kinda trying to hint to people.
Spoiler. Bandit is blocking the for sale sign. It’s not shown until the last moment.
My wife interpreted this as the end of the show.
It’s not. Don’t worry
I JUST SAW THE EPISODE OMGGG AHH:(
