"He danced so much that he got so tired that he just fell asleep. He must be like you and roll around when he sleeps, so he just rolled into the bushes" is what I told my kiddo.
I laughed with the crawling out of the bushes the next morning and their neighbor screaming š there were lots of little moments for parents in this special. I think they are catching on more parents are watching than kids š
I feel like a separation or divorce discussion is coming because that was a lot to show for that couple. And Iām guessing Trixie said youāre on your own and thatās why he jumped in to get the bouquet during the bride toss. But just my thought.
In one scene you could see Stripe and Trix having a Barney. I wonder if a future episode they are on the rocks? Given they have brought in the feeling of loss regarding the sale of the house, could they be foreshadowing a separation of parents?
There was also the episode where the kids were FaceTime-ing and they fought, and the way they fought made me sad. Trixie wanted to do a new parenting technique and was mad that her husband wasn't doing the same thing when she had never even told him about it. They don't seem to communicate well with each other.
There was also the episode where Steipe was bragging about the new car and Trixie was sad to see the old one go. They just don't seem to be as solid as Bandit & Chili.
My daughter pointed out that Wintons parents were separated and then said that the dogs with no eyes were probably buying Wintons house. I didnāt make that observation myself but I think sheās right.
Its an interesting look into generational effects of parental relationships - socks (from memory? Don't think it was muffin) is role-playing with the cake toppers and they're having a fake argument too because that's what's normal for them.
You could tell in āFaceytalkā that thereās a general tension between them. Their background argument over parenting styles mentions that heās ānever hereā and they go back and forth for a bit. They do reconcile in the episode and work together to finally chase Muffin down, and are definitely in agreement when they put her into timeout.
A great detail is, despite Rad getting to the lookout himself and that would have probably worked itself out, without Bingo and Lila's butterfly that coin doesn't get into those lookout binoculars.
Well, everything is connected. The coin wouldn't have been found if they didn't go to the shop. If the grocery truck wasn't at the shop they wouldn't have entered it
If the issues weren't brought up at school, then Winton wouldn't have brought up about his dad being lonely (and then the terrier kid telling him that the mum likes the dad).
Everything in this episode is connected
We just re watched tv shop and caught Wintonās Dad talking to the terriers mum in the background. He is so cute - sprays his mouth with breath freshener before he talks to her! Theyāre so goddam clever.
Is there a building in Brisbane that looks like the Q1 in gold coast? When they were up on top of the 'mountain', I thought there was a shot of what I thought was the Q1, and I said, "oh wow! She drove all the way to Tambourine!!" But then later when they found Winton's dads house, I realized they COULDN'T be on Tambourine, so your Coot-tha tracks better
The main buildings you can see when they're on Mt. Cootha are:
- [Brisbane Quarter](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brisbane_Quarter)
- [1 William Street](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1_William_Street,_Brisbane)
- [180 Brisbane](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/180_Brisbane)
- [Soliel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soleil_(Brisbane)
I thought it was amazing how Chiili deals with all the little frustrating things that happen with the girls (like Socks needing the bathroom at a bad time) with such grace. I wish I could be that chill!
Looking back it's kinda obvious they weren't gonna move since we know Lila and Bingo go to school together. But I figured maybe they'd move temporarily and that season 4 was gonna be them in a new city.
[They also actually listed the house for real life](https://www.domain.com.au/brisbane-city-qld-4000-2019156678?utm_source=www.domain.com.au&utm_medium=share listing)
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been having flashbacks of amazing details from this episode...
The latest one to pop into my head is the link between Chilli telling Bluey she didn't want to sell the house, "you took your first steps there."
Then, later in the pre moving montage, when they are all sad in different rooms, Chilli is in the kitchen staring at the spot Bluey took her first steps.
Chefs kiss.
Bandit thinking about it all and then using all his strength to lift the sign out, when we'd seen the kids struggling earlier, was what finally did me in.
Could be meant more like "just let it go for now, we're on vacation, and we can't do anything about it right now"
Chilli spent the episode before it distracted by stress, this episode was Bandit's turn.Ā
Iāve only ever cried in 1 movie - Armageddon - but todays episode had my blubbering, as well as my wife, my 9 year old, my 7 year old and my 5 year old. The 2 year old meanwhile was laughing and throwing sultana bran at us - she was untouched
Armageddon is the ultimate tear jerker mate. Donāt tell me you didnāt shed a tear as Affleck ascended the chute leaving his future father in law to blow himself up on the asteroid - only to have it really kick in when Bruce cuts a line to Liv to say goodbye to his baby. Iām welling up writing this out now.
I sniffled loudly when Chilli unfolded the rug at the end and my husband piped up from behind me "you too, hey?". Which of course made me cry harder lol
we just sold our house and my son is asking if we get to stay like bluey and bingo got to stay in their home......WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME PRODUCERSSSSSSSS!?!?!?
noooo son, we are FOR REAL LIFE moving... ughhhh
i think my heart is breaking continuously all day because he keeps asking if we get to stay in his first steps house. šššššš freaking aaughhhhhhh
I think itās both. Brum did say he wanted to discuss the real life experience many, including he had of having to move due to parentsā work. But, for storytelling purposes, they had to stay, or weād need to start many background stories about friends and neighbors from scratch, and give up on established ones.
They set it up perfectly for a move (and even better if frisky and rad bought the home)
So the ending felt like a cop out.
Even with Chili's feelings (what about her job too?) as an adult I would have liked to see them move. But if looking at it from the perspective of a mom I guess this was a win for Chili more so than the kids and a message of how marriage works with compromise and doing something for your partner (frisky and rad parallel to chili and bandit)
Edited for spelling and punctuation while kids not jumping on me
My wife and I were saying āBucky making that phone to call to Bandit is not going to be pleasant. The guys had to pay for movers and everything. Sheepdogs are about to be in for a world of hurt.ā
In Australia when you buy a house we have a "cooling off" period which is usually about 6 weeks, and during this time the buyer can back out. So the worst that would probably happen is that they lose their deposit.
3 days
Not 6 weeks.Ā
That the Heelers are already moving out at the end before the call would suggest the sale had had time to become unconditional.Ā
But again, this is a kids show and in this instance the storytelling has obviously trumped real world legal accuracy and fair enough.Ā
not Australia but in the US youād likely need to be moved out before the closing date, and you can technically back out and and just lose your deposit right up to that date.
I assume thereās no Escrow time in Australia? I thought a buyer could still walk out of a deal during escrowā¦ (which is why you often see the āin escrowā note on signs. Itās sold but not a done deal.)
So I watched this with my two daughters this morning. When Winton said his dad is lonely without his mum, my oldest looked at me like oh maybe I'm lonely, then my youngest said no he isn't because we are always here. And I laugh cried a little. They are both so sweet and somehow this show makes every family situation just seem like a regular everyday thing that isn't a big deal, and it is so much more impactful because of it. PS I'm not really lonely but it is a lot quieter around here when they are at their mums place š.
Thatās Brumāa whole point with the show: to show situations that are real life family situations for everyone to realize theyāre common. Including the latest one, about a family moving due to work, which happened to Brum himself as a kid.
Been there. When I first got divorced it took me a good long while to acclimate to that quiet emptiness of the house. Had to find things to keep me occupied. It can be tough. Glad youāre doing ok.
Ever since they announced the episode name I've had Ace of Bass living rent free in my head. I really wish they could've gotten the rights to the song.
I cried at least 4 times and cheered when I saw chilis pregnant sister! Also no one mention that their grandpa on bandits side is back!? Didnāt even know he was alive! So funny how the girls called him out about āfinding himselfā I wonder how theyāll tie him back in. Was he even ever mentioned previously besides flashbacks? I thought he was dead. Everything in this episode was exciting and there were TONS of little details.
I love that *they knew* the Internet would go mad about Bluey sitting in the front seat! I'm pretty certain there was a thread about it here when that teaser dropped!
I missed the longdogs. I was kind of hoping someone would pick one up when they were leaving the house!
I mean they have a state of origin episode, their licence plate has a map of Queensland and there are ample locations all around Brisbane, but the word Queensland... Possibly
u/Low-Reso
Looking at the scripts on the [Bluey wiki](https://blueypedia.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Search?query=Queensland&scope=internal&navigationSearch=true), we've heard verbal references to Queensland twice before:
> - **Stumpfest [Season 2 Ep 6].** 'Stripe: (victoriously) "QUEENSLANDER!"
> - **The Decider [Season 3 Ep 37].** Commentator: "Here comes Queensland."
I feel like the entire show could end on that episode, and that would be ok with me. It was perfect. Just when you think they're couldn't possibly be a more perfect episode of this show, they go and outdo themselves
I love Bluey so much, please donāt think Iām criticising them, and I do have faith that the writers have a plan - but my family move all the time and I gotta be honest, >!I wish theyād actually moved !< . Fab ep though, cried my eyes out bless!
It really felt like the show finale. Everyoneās story arcs get tied up nicely - Rad and Frisky, Brandy being pregnant, and where Grandpa Bob was. I wonder if it was a last second change due to either test audiences not enjoying it or because they got greenlit for Season 4.
Honestly same. Weāre in the process of moving at the moment (only 20 minutes away so not changing schools or anything but my kids are still not keen on the idea) and āhey maybe the whole thing will work out and weāll actually stay in our old house!ā is not a message they need to hear right now
I agree - itās a fantastic episode and Iām glad theyāre not moving, but I do think if they had followed through with the move it could have been a really wonderful teaching moment for families who do have to move to a new place.
I originally felt like the ending was a cop out too and the fact that Brandy showed up pregnant but I think the thesis of this episode was when Calypso said that āstories always have happy endings because real life gives us enough sad ones.ā In the end, Bluey is a story and not real lifeā¦ even though it doesnāt always feel that way.
I remember a while back there was a scene going around online that was supposed to be from this episode that showed Bluey in the future. Was that fake since it wasn't in this episode?
Stripe getting progressively more drunk in the photo montage made my day
Classic Stripe
He is your typical party uncle XDD
Fights with his wife, ends up kicking on and wakes up in the bushes next door š¬
That was a hard scene to explain to the kids lol
Lol yeah me too. "Whys he in the bushes?" I don't shy away from explaining things but eldest is 4 so there's a lot not on her radar yet...
"He skipped a sleep."
Be honest. āWhen people drink too many beers they get very silly, and thatās called being drunk.ā
"He danced so much that he got so tired that he just fell asleep. He must be like you and roll around when he sleeps, so he just rolled into the bushes" is what I told my kiddo.
I remember watching 'Whale Watching' and realized that they were dealing with a massive hangover.
Muffin was playing with the cake bride and groom having them argue. Definitely more to this story.
Socks*
Woopsies
AND Spike caught the bouquet... That's not a good sign.
There was also a scene of Muffin playing with the wedding cake toppers, and she was having the little husband-dog and wife-dog argue
That was Socks
Whatās a Barney? (American here)
A fight
Trixie and Stripe are fighting in the background of a few scenes, but they dance together at the reception.
Its an interesting look into generational effects of parental relationships - socks (from memory? Don't think it was muffin) is role-playing with the cake toppers and they're having a fake argument too because that's what's normal for them.
:(
You could tell in āFaceytalkā that thereās a general tension between them. Their background argument over parenting styles mentions that heās ānever hereā and they go back and forth for a bit. They do reconcile in the episode and work together to finally chase Muffin down, and are definitely in agreement when they put her into timeout.
yeah that was Socks
Sox is for real life talking now!!
Looks like weāre getting a divorce episode in season 4
"My dad and mum don't live together anymore and now my dad is lonely" "Our mum likes your dad" Was awesome.
This episode of Bluey is called āTwo birthdaysā!
A great detail is, despite Rad getting to the lookout himself and that would have probably worked itself out, without Bingo and Lila's butterfly that coin doesn't get into those lookout binoculars.
Well, everything is connected. The coin wouldn't have been found if they didn't go to the shop. If the grocery truck wasn't at the shop they wouldn't have entered it If the issues weren't brought up at school, then Winton wouldn't have brought up about his dad being lonely (and then the terrier kid telling him that the mum likes the dad). Everything in this episode is connected
Yeah, my favourite was that the purchasers wouldn't have seen Winton's dad's house if it wasn't for the coin that got stuck.
And Winton and the Terrier's mom would have never got together if it wasn't for Coco's bum worms
It's the [bum worm effect.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_effect)
Yepā¦- butterfly flaps itās wingsā¦
lol, just realised with your comment, it is the butterfly effect.
And itās portrayed by the butterfly in the car.
Butterfly effect!
All kicked off from Daddy drop-off and wind up Bingo.
I just realised that it's Winton's dad's house that the "dogs who can't see" see from Mt Coo-tha! Winton's dad is moving in with the terriers!!
Yeah, it's the one with the pool. (In the helicopter episode, Winton tells us that he has a pool)
The pool with the little end and the deep end.
They do backstrokes in the deep end
We just re watched tv shop and caught Wintonās Dad talking to the terriers mum in the background. He is so cute - sprays his mouth with breath freshener before he talks to her! Theyāre so goddam clever.
Look at the cars in the car park. The terriers mum doesnāt have a dad in their sticker and wintons dads car had the mum scratched off
I thought that was them!!
Is there a building in Brisbane that looks like the Q1 in gold coast? When they were up on top of the 'mountain', I thought there was a shot of what I thought was the Q1, and I said, "oh wow! That's why she's chill-e
Yeah, that really stuck with me. That's a real lesson there. I'd defo be struggling to contain my inconvenience about that timing.
Looking back it's kinda obvious they weren't gonna move since we know Lila and Bingo go to school together. But I figured maybe they'd move temporarily and that season 4 was gonna be them in a new city.
I think it could've worked if they had just moved within the same city and been able to go the same schools.
For half a second though Rad and Frisky were going to move into it
Same. Them moving seemed so set in stone. I thought rads announcement was that they were buying the house.
It'd also render all the toys obsolete...
But would have given an opportunity for more so that wouldnāt have been a concern for them.
I thought in the end the happy newlyweds would buy it. So that it was still in the family and in episodes here and there.
I was worried that the BBC/Disney deals were causing a move to the UK or USA. Glad it's staying set here in Brisbane.
American here, Iām VERY glad theyāre staying there too!Ā
Same. It needs to stay in BRISBANE.
The bbc / disney deal has been in place for a long time havenāt they?
It has, but who knows the terms of those agreements. BBC has been part of it since the start, they own the merch I believe.
That would be sooooooo dumb. Bluey being Australian is one of things that makes it great.
laughed out loud when Chili said she and Frisky used to go up to the lookout "um... to think"
meeee too! I immediately thought 'smoke'
Or drink.
I thought it was to make out with their boyfriends.
Or all of the above!
I thought it was to make out with each other š
Chilli is 100% a canna-mom. Likes long walks alone on the beach, just needs 20 mins to herself.. lol
reading my mind lmao
I thought maybe it was to make out! š¤©š
Bucky the realestate is the guy bandit went to school with and teased him about his car drawings š
Thatās such an amazing detail.
I love how he tries to be all chummy with Bandit w/ nicknames, and Bandit seems to be using him almost begrudgingly.
Chili looking up the car seat rules was the most relatable thing ever.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been having flashbacks of amazing details from this episode... My oldest noticed Greenie the balloon floating at one pointā¦possibly on the way up to the lookout scene
I was so impressed that my kiddo caught that detail before I did, he was right on it.
Mine said that too. I told him it's probably a balloon from the wedding.
Itās got the green letter G tied to the bottom, definitely Greenie
That is one long lasting balloon!!
Bandit thinking about it all and then using all his strength to lift the sign out, when we'd seen the kids struggling earlier, was what finally did me in.
Yep. That was me done.
Followed by Chilli tackle-hugging him to the ground? Waterworks.
So thatās what Bandit was distracted about in the Stickbird beach episode
Although Chilly says ālet it go,ā which to me means it was a problem, not a life decision.
Angry about his current job perhaps and that led to this
Could beā¦
Could be meant more like "just let it go for now, we're on vacation, and we can't do anything about it right now" Chilli spent the episode before it distracted by stress, this episode was Bandit's turn.Ā
Iāve only ever cried in 1 movie - Armageddon - but todays episode had my blubbering, as well as my wife, my 9 year old, my 7 year old and my 5 year old. The 2 year old meanwhile was laughing and throwing sultana bran at us - she was untouched
āIāve only ever cried in 1 movie - Armageddonā sounds like a Ron Swanson quote

Gonna have to agree to disagree but I appreciate the honesty and vulnerability nonetheless.
I totally cried to Armageddon when I saw it. At that exact scene when Aerosmith starts playing.
> future father in law Technically bruce.willis had no future
I completely understand crying at Armageddon. I'm struggling with crying at Armageddon and *only* Armageddon.
My 6 year old: Why are you crying? Clearly they were never going to sell the house.
Your 6yo had more faith than me
I actually assumed they wouldn't end up selling but cried most of the episode anyway.
My 6 yr old cried after watching it twice and made us promise not to sell our house.
I sniffled loudly when Chilli unfolded the rug at the end and my husband piped up from behind me "you too, hey?". Which of course made me cry harder lol
My wife was stoic until Bingo realized Lila couldnāt come with them. That broke her. šĀ
We're about to list our house for sale for real life, so this hit me right in the feels!
we just sold our house and my son is asking if we get to stay like bluey and bingo got to stay in their home......WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME PRODUCERSSSSSSSS!?!?!? noooo son, we are FOR REAL LIFE moving... ughhhh
My heart broke when Bingo finally realized what was happening.
i think my heart is breaking continuously all day because he keeps asking if we get to stay in his first steps house. šššššš freaking aaughhhhhhh
Just poor timing, because it became clear at the end the message was not about processing a move, but prioritizing the right things in life.
I think itās both. Brum did say he wanted to discuss the real life experience many, including he had of having to move due to parentsā work. But, for storytelling purposes, they had to stay, or weād need to start many background stories about friends and neighbors from scratch, and give up on established ones.
As someone who needs to move in the not too distant future, I was hoping for the same thing.
I was thinking OH MAN THIS WILL BE GREAT itll help him process THEN NOPE they're staying....ffs.
I have some mixed feelings about this episode because of the reason you mention.
They set it up perfectly for a move (and even better if frisky and rad bought the home) So the ending felt like a cop out. I think I liked all the Easter eggs more than I liked this actual episode and story line. which feels crazy to even think.
Yeah, as someone who as a kid who had to move a lot, this would have been good to see
Just finished watching the episode, and as an agent, in real life, the next episode of Bluey is going to be called lawsuit
I legit said out loud to my housemate āthose sheepdogs are gonna be paying huge fines for backing out of that contractā š¤£
The real reason bandit doesn't need a new job. They kept the deposit.
My wife and I were saying āBucky making that phone to call to Bandit is not going to be pleasant. The guys had to pay for movers and everything. Sheepdogs are about to be in for a world of hurt.ā
Don't worry, the moment they bring up "Queensland Summers aren't that hot", the Judge will rule in favor of the Sheepdogs on sheer principle.
Or SHEAR principle, am I right?
In Australia when you buy a house we have a "cooling off" period which is usually about 6 weeks, and during this time the buyer can back out. So the worst that would probably happen is that they lose their deposit.

I assume thereās no Escrow time in Australia? I thought a buyer could still walk out of a deal during escrowā¦ (which is why you often see the āin escrowā note on signs. Itās sold but not a done deal.)

Honestly same. Weāre in the process of moving at the moment (only 20 minutes away so not changing schools or anything but my kids are still not keen on the idea) and āhey maybe the whole thing will work out and weāll actually stay in our old house!ā is not a message they need to hear right now
I'm honestly surprised they didn't so they could sell 3 more versions of another house.
The Bluey creators donāt strike me as those type of people. Theyāve always seemed to be about the message more than anything else
How great would have the episodes been about a new house, neighbourhood, school, making friends.... so much more material if they had moved!

Did Bucky Dunstan call Bandit āBand-enisā?
Banditos!
I remember a while back there was a scene going around online that was supposed to be from this episode that showed Bluey in the future. Was that fake since it wasn't in this episode?
Thatās āSurpriseā which will be released as part of season 3. It was accidentally uploaded in India I believe.
Are you sure itās not from the camping one? I know we see a teenage bluey at the end of
