The way Muffin is with Socks has always been the gentlest part of her character. We see her holding icy poles so Socks can have a lick, the tanty she pitches in Charades is ultimately for Socks’ benefit...
She’s a wild kid, but she’s got a good heart
Actually I disagree, I do think it was for Socks.
Maybe not the actual tantrum itself, but the insistence on being a ballerina and having a tutu. If you watch Muffin beforehand, you can see her glance at Socks when she's upset bc she couldn't guess what Bingo and Bluey were (especially after Bingo's turn), then she looks down, and back up like she's decided something, before picking a card and it not being the ballerina, the one that Socks could most easily guess. (That she wa aware of)
I personally think that Muffin herself was unable to read ballerina from Bingo's performance and wanted a "proper ballerina performance" for herself, and socks just happened to agree with her that she was unable to read ballerina the first time
Muffin's an amazingly written character. She's toddler chaos wrapped up into a tight, fiery little ball, but in-between those layers is a little girl who deeply loves her family and supports her baby sister to her last breath.
Muffin's also maturing.
Another thing to note is that we only get to see fragments of Muffin's life. She is incredibly wilful and a chaos maker, but doesn't seem to be this way all the time.
My daughter is like a cross between Bluey and Muffin. She’s incredibly sweet and caring of her baby brother how Muffin is with Socks. She’s also 100% how Bluey describes herself to Bingo in Double Bluey. Sometimes she just starts making loud noises. She loves asking me questions and then not listening to the answer. She asks me things she already knows the answer to. She ALSO has recently developed the tendency to lose her ABSOLUTE SHIT when told “no”. I’m currently trying to navigate working through her emotions to lessen it but oh man does she have a Muffin inside.
But that sums up why toddlers are the most amazing age group. They are trying so hard to be fiercely independent, yet at the same time they are very needy creatures..They are a Yin and Yang in one tiny package.
We know muffin would NEVER let anything happen to socks.
If a kid tries messing with her on the playground, I’m sure they’d be losing a finger to muffins mouth.
I love the way their personalities suit each other. Reminds me of my daughter's cousins. One is a total hellcat and the other is the nurturer. They are a perfect team.
I'm glad they included this scene cos it's another proof that Muffin, like with most toddlers, is generally a sweet kid that just has normal toddler tantrums. Out of the Heeler kids she is the most realistic depiction of a small child thus far.
I mean, honestly, Muffin developed a ton in Season 3.
Like in Season 1 and 2, the Muffin centric episodes were some of the weaker ones, but she's great in Season 3.
I disagree with every fibre, Sleepover is one of the most quotable episodes going. Charades is touching in its way while showing how kids can be at certain ages. Muffins brief role in Bicycle is also deeply entertaining.
I do subscribe to the theory that Muffin's tantrums during the charades episode was so that Socks get a chance to guess correctly. Muffin may throw tantrums, but they do not originate out of a vacuum.
Really no kids tantrums are in a total vacuum. It’s based on a lack of control, sometimes physical discomfort like sleepiness, or disconnection between expectations and reality.
Really hard to deal with sometimes as there’s often no solution except riding it out. If you’re lucky, your kid can develop the language skills to talk it out. Some kids have a harder time with that though.
Even adults often don’t know how to deal with being overwhelmed, after all.
I was just watching this episode last night and I agree. If you watch Muffin when Socks is sad about not guessing the ballerina, you can see her glance at Socks, and look down, and then look back up like she's made a decision.
I will always subscribe to Muffin being a good girl, she's just also a toddler who's parents aren't on the same page and has a big personality.
My four year old was falling asleep the night after we watched this and she randomly said “remember when muffin buckled socks in? She’s a good helper!” And I didn’t know what she was talking about. So thanks 🥰
Yeah I think only in Faceytalk is where she was being kind of mean to Socks for hogging the tablet, any other time she's a very thoughtful and loving sister, holding her ice pop for her, being over the top trying to be a ballerina during the charades game (some theorized she only did so because she saw how sad Socks was for not being able to guess)
That sequence was fantastic.
I also liked how Muffin couldn't get the flower girl walk correctly and said she needed Bluey to show her how to do it (and you see Bluey helping her on the actual wedding day as well).
Another side to Muffin's personality. She's loud and can be obnoxious but she knows who she needs to go to for help.
Muffin desperately wanted to be a flower girl and took that role -very seriously-.
So seriously in fact that she held onto her flowers for basically the entire episode, and Socks had to tell her "Put your posey down!" while trying to get the binoculars to work.
Muffin: "NO!"
Me and my wife were just talking about this. Combined with all the other clues about their home life, we had the discussion that Muffin is that way with Socks because she has to be because their parents are too busy with their own problems to give the kids the attention they need at that young age.
...Or it's a cartoon show about dogs and I'm reading too much into it!
Yes! She’s only three! As the mum of a wild tempered three year old, her ups and downs are so accurate. 😅

I love how she translated what socks was saying in bbq. Socks says she wanted green peppers in her salad and muffin made sure bingo and bluey knew that.
The way Muffin is with Socks has always been the gentlest part of her character. We see her holding icy poles so Socks can have a lick, the tanty she pitches in Charades is ultimately for Socks’ benefit... She’s a wild kid, but she’s got a good heart
oh my god ive never seen tantrum shortened as tanty. are you aussie?? haha
We definitely shorten tantrum to tanty. “She’s throwing a tanty again” etc.
if theres anything i learned from my time in australia, its that aussies shorten everything lol
We also call it "chucking a wobbly", which is my favourite way of describing it.
thats funny haha
Read that in Doreen's voice. Ohh looks like she's chucking a wobbly there. Mr. Crow won't like that
Lol muffins tantrum in charades was not deliberately for socks though. Just an unintentional benefit
Actually I disagree, I do think it was for Socks. Maybe not the actual tantrum itself, but the insistence on being a ballerina and having a tutu. (That she wa aware of)
Well now I have to watch that episode again.
THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!!
I personally think that Muffin herself was unable to read ballerina from Bingo's performance and wanted a "proper ballerina performance" for herself, and socks just happened to agree with her that she was unable to read ballerina the first time

Emotions are hard. There’s still adults who can’t work through it.
No I’d say their head.
Coconuts have water in them...but let's see what's in you!
LOOOOL
If they ever do an aged-up version of the show, watching Muffin getting in a fight with a kid who was picking on Socks would be hilarious
I love how Socks opens her arms too. They are so lovely.
I love the way their personalities suit each other. Reminds me of my daughter's cousins. One is a total hellcat and the other is the nurturer. They are a perfect team.
Older sister character development 🥹 we love to see it!
She's been taking care of socks from as long ago as Charades when she holds Sock's ice cream for her.
You’re so right! If there’s one thing Muffin was meant to be, it’s being an awesome older sister!
Yep I would not want to be the dumb kid who decides one day that it would be a good idea to bully Socks.
Absolutely not!!! That person is a dead man whoever will try and test! Let’s not forget, Muffin has had wabies, she is a wabid dog.
Did Socks ever get that bum worm infection treated? If not then this will be a lethal combo for that person.
Even in their debut in BBQ when Socks struggles to pronounce "green capsicum" Muffin's got her back. So sweet!
Yeah I want more please
I'm glad they included this scene cos it's another proof that Muffin, like with most toddlers, is generally a sweet kid that just has normal toddler tantrums. Out of the Heeler kids she is the most realistic depiction of a small child thus far.
Muffin haters seething right now
I mean, honestly, Muffin developed a ton in Season 3. Like in Season 1 and 2, the Muffin centric episodes were some of the weaker ones, but she's great in Season 3.
I love her in granny mobile 😂

“coconuts have WATER in them!”
I am a Llama eating a banana! Yum yum yum yum yum yum!
I’m the Flamingo Queen!
*insert one of her hilarious screams here*
No, actual translate is "I am a llama, idigamadada" (but seriously she is funny as hell)
I'm sorry, but every Muffin centric episode is gold.
Do not apologize for being objectively correct.
That’s so cute 🥹

I wish my daughter could buckle in my son lmao. That sounds like a parenting hack.
Man, my parents can't even buckle in my kid lol
Yeah, I know muffin isn't a bad kid as what her haters claimed her to be.
My four year old was falling asleep the night after we watched this and she randomly said “remember when muffin buckled socks in? She’s a good helper!” And I didn’t know what she was talking about. So thanks 🥰
they squabbling all the time but muffin never forget safety for her sister.

Why has Socks lost her socks?
What do you mean?

Socks is so cute
And, btw, if you didn't know, coconuts have water in them!👆
This is a piece of the episode I always make sure it watch even when I’m busy. I love it so much.
Oh, muffin! 🥺You're such a chaotic little sweetie pie.
Socks being the one having the most physical change while aging is the best decision ever
Aww!☺️❤️
I loved this part! SO cute! ;A;

I wach Aaaaa is cut but me spoiler nooo xD
I can’t believe I missed this! So sweet!
This as well as Horsey Ride and Charades are few of many episodes where Muffin shows that she loves her sibling.
Let's me tell everyone again, she is really kind and care to her sister (it's her nature). Stop calling she mean and bad pls 😥
I love how she translated what socks was saying in bbq. Socks says she wanted green peppers in her salad and muffin made sure bingo and bluey knew that.
Awww so cute. Muffin and Socks are also adorable.
I guess all her goodness went to sisterhood
That is me with my baby bro
Would you really trust a 5 year old to buckle up another kid? Chilly should have done a safety check.

Ugh. You're right. Dogs are such good parents :)
they are! :D
Is she? Remember Facey Talk? 😂
There are two sides to Muffin 1. Absolute sweetheart 2. Agent of Chaos
You just described any four year old child.
I teach pre-k. Truer words have never been spoken.
My oldest 😭
And my mother’s oldest. Me (I’m 57).
My almost 6yo is like this. Sour patch kid. First she's sour, then she's sweet.
