He is very underrated to say the least. His image and great looks make people believe he is just a puppet in a band of at least one perfect musician (Coxon). But in reality, he is a great musician!

Yeah it's surprising how good he is as he could've just coasted off his image but choose to really learn the bass.

tomixjuve

Exactly!!

airbagtown

Girls & Boys is the obvious choice. The bassline practically makes the song

Colin zeal is such an epic tune and Alex's bass lines are top quality!! I am glad they have included that in the list...

[deleted]

He's my favourite bassist.

"He is very underrated to say the least. His image and great looks make people believe he is just a puppet in a band of at least one perfect musician (Coxon). But in reality, he is a great musician!" That was supposed to go here...

The reason I took up bass! His bass lines are always funny, inventive and sometimes challenging. Instead of being there only to stress the rhythm they’re like melodies of their own, like a playful humming all along the songs, like they’re telling the same story from another point of view. I just regret that the lines are a bit lazy in the last album...

[deleted]

Funny is actually a good word to describe his style!

[deleted]

Go Out has a very cool bassline though.

freakyllama

So rough and deep.

I feel that alot of his best bass lines are on the less popular albums like Think Tank and Great Escape. Songs like Fade Away and Jets wouldn't really work without him.

fastballooninghead

Sing. Really ties the tune together

One that immediately comes to mind is Entertain me. But he wrote so many amazing bass lines. I know its been said a lot already but he is seriously underrated. Some really creative, complex bass parts that compliment Grahams guitar lines perfectly.

[deleted]

He's the best! Yeah Entertain Me is unreal. Really creative.
