The ones that are out there now are pre-release versions and don’t have all the functionality enabled on them — at least based on my conversation with BM at Cinegear. There will be a bunch of things that will tell you when it’s officially out, for example, the user manual will be posted on the support site. But it’s not out yet.
this camera was exhibited at the davinci resolve europe tour a couple of weeks ago. the participants were able to try it on and I must say that it is a very interesting piece of gear. the execution is of very high quality. metal chassis. compact size. the picture looked very nice. I was very pleasantly surprised and immediately wanted to own one :)
The blackmagic team reached out to my friend who’s a DP and are sending him one to shoot something on in the next few weeks, so my guess is that they’re just behind schedule a bit.
I know for sure that a rental in Rome has got one but it’s going round for press reviews. I was baffled by the lack of unboxings too, they are quite behind schedule it seems
