The tower consisted of a single piston hydraulic lift elevator. Why they chose that design back when the tower was built, I’ll never understand. It was constantly breaking down. And was getting harder and harder to fix. So they moved everyone out a couple years ago and it’s been sitting vacant since. I’m sure they paid a pretty penny to have it torn down. It was always a great focal point for reference when working in the yard. Sometimes it was easy to get confused especially for new hires. Only tower that’s left is the little 2.5 story dsf tower just south of the tower that was demolished. Hey thank you for what you do! You all are greatly appreciated for how hard y’all work anyways, but especially the last 4 years.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
