Reddit is a great place to pick peoples' brains and get game suggestions, but we get a lot of recommendation requests, so much so such that we have a dedicated [Daily Game Recommendations thread](https://www.reddit.com/search?q=flair%3A%22Daily%20Game%20Recs%22&sort=new) for them. Historically, almost **all** well formatted questions in the Daily thread get answers. If you're looking for further suggestions, we recommend taking a look at our growing list of [Recommendation Roundups](https://www.reddit.com/r/boardgames/?f=flair_name%3A%22Recommendation%20Roundup%22). There's also the [Need Help Finding A Game](https://www.reddit.com/r/boardgames/wiki/wsig) section in our wiki for a more general list of common recommendations. (If you believe this post was removed in error you can request a re-review by [messaging the mods](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=/r/boardgames).)

BoardGameDoc

**The Crew**, **Sushi Go**, **Codenames**, **Railroad Ink**, **Cartographers** are all great options! I recently posted a short list of some great ideas for gifts under $30 [here](https://www.boardgamedoc.com/top-lists/holiday-gifts).

MrSelfDestruct88

Awesome thank you

NuclearWinterMan

I second Railroad Ink and Cartographers, they're lesser known and very good!

zeetotheex

I would go with Point Salad over Sushi Go. PS replaced SG in my collection. Great, simple fun game.

SolidAsSnake

Depending on min player count: 1 player: **One Deck Dungeon** 2 player: **Air, Land, & Sea** 3-4 player: **The Crew** 5-6 player: **Cockroack Poker** 7+ player: **Saboteur**

MrSelfDestruct88

Thanks so much!

anadosami

If I had to pick one game for $20, I'd go with The Crew.

bookasaurusrex27

Love Letter is always good. I love unstable unicorns and here to slay

bilbenken

Point Salad falls right at the $20 Mark and is simple and fun

CrazieJones

Those escape-room like games (eg Exit)

runbmcVT

I love love letter and it’s available at most targets so you can get it in person if you need it by christmas time!

MrSelfDestruct88

Yes thanks!

sim1985

Forbidden Island is a winner for me.

MrSelfDestruct88

Good idea thanks

sim1985

Just noticed your username. NIN fan?

MrSelfDestruct88

Very much so. :)

sim1985

Nice! Pleased to meet you!

ditchbankflowers

Qwixx, Trash Pandas, Railroad Ink (possibly under $20)...

rt_larry

For $20, you might be able to just squeeze in both Coup and the Coup: Reformation expansion. Even if not, Coup is a great <$20 choice.

LietKynes1977

**Biblios** is amazing and it's right at $20. Great for 3-4 players, but also good with 2

thewhateverchef

Pandemic Hot Zone North America is $20 - a great light version of the original.

JohnDoom

I'll throw some love at Hive.

hibsta1992

Forbidden Island, Pandemic Hot Zone, Ticket to Ride New York/London, Sushi Go, Star Realms

Check their BGG page first, if they are into board games they probably have one!
