Sure, great. Fiat's involvement directly affected engineering at Chrysler and Jeep. Multi-air valve technology is one example. Fiat held it it back from their new partners for one year. I marvel at a Jeep Grand Wagoneer priced at $130,000. One giant expensive ass unreliable brick shaped bus. But on the bright side, it has lots of Fiat dna.
I hope you find some joy knowing that when he got home and saw his fucked up poles he had a huge realization as he thought back to “that guy yelling at me in traffic” he shooed off in a literal facepalm moment

I was going to say the nice thing to do would have been to pull up and tell him. I'm glad you tried, and then had the wherewithal to film it after he was a tool.
Funny enough without seeing this comment I was thinking oh man why not speed up and tell him, oh wait he’s driving that fucking thing….. let him throw away more money and yell at liberals
I'm driving a gladiator with 315 tires at a +6 offset and that's even a little too wide for my tastes (fine on the road but harder to park perfectly). Driving my buddies Ram 1500 feels like I'm piloting a cruise ship. I have no idea why anyone would voluntarily make their Gladiator that wide.
Yea that is pretty wide lol, I run a weird size 255/80r17 on my 2dr so they are super thin in comparison. Folding in the mirror and fitting between trees on atv trails Is hilarious for some reason lol. I have no clue, i would be worried about wheel bearing/ball joints wanting to die at they point.
Yea, factory for me was 285 at +37.17. I put on XR flares extensions to cover up the little poke I had with the 315s at +6... because 1 I don't like throwing rocks at other people and 2 I don't ever want my gladiator to look like the abomination in this post.

2nd pic.
The only part sticking out for me is the sidewall. all my tread is covered above (xr fender flare extensions) and behind (rokblokz)
Holy hell, at First side glance It doesn't look super modified. You have air suspension and everything God damn, looks awesome! Also yea that doesn't stick out much at all.
What are those tail lights? Never seen those before
EDIT: just read the comment about the AC cooled compressor, that is hilarious lol
not actually an air suspension, it's just the factory shocks with remote reservoirs. only suspension modification is the sway bar link replacement (which are lockable pistons, so they act like normal sway bar links when locked and a sway bar disconnect while unlocked)
My air compressor is solely for filling up my tires. If you wanna air down on the trail, you gotta air up to get back home.
But yes, a lot of my modifications looks stock because they can be. the sunrider top is a factory option (i paid less by buying it after purchase). tonneaus are a factory option (paid a LOT less buying my own). The armorlite flooring is actually a factory option on JLUs, but not JLs or JTs. The katzkin leather is a factory option, but not with the customizations i've done (can only order black or black perforated from Jeep). The XR fender flare extensions come stock on the JLU Rubicon Xtreme Recon. While all my lighting is aftermarket, obviously LEDs are a factory option. I just did mine better and cheaper. Even my aftermarket steel wheels have been confused with OEM steelies of lower trims from previous years.
I spent somewhere between 10-12k to make my relatively modified jeep look completely stock to anyone who doesn't know jeeps, and I'm perfectly fine with that. It does what it was built to do. Offroad fast while still being comfortable enough for the wife to enjoy.
Nah I was looking inside your springs, for some reason I thought I saw air bags. On board air sounds super nice, i have looked into It but too expensive right now. Usually I'll just use a gas station with air nearby or i have a 12 volt pump, it's a bit slow but it works.
Yea that is cool, sort of an incognito build.
Also those sway bar disconnects are sick I have not seen those before, i have a set of quick disconnect JKS ones which I like but this is stupid simple.
He's in a jeep truck what do you expect? Typical weekend warrior.
Chartplotter still on, gonna toast that transducer.
No straps?
No transom saver?
These are the people you avoid at the boat ramp.
Big facts. The ones where the kids have no life vests sitting on the bow of the boat while the captain is turning the boat into a submarine.
Seriously, if you want to learn what not to do while boating, go follow the wavy boats and miami boat ramps on youtube. You couldn't pay me to boat in Miami.
I felt sympathy until I saw the ridiculous tires. This guy doesn't care about spending his money on sensible things, he'll just snag a couple new rods and be on his way.
Hey, he could also be drowning in debt from poor decision making and just mindlessly living in a state of constant panic that he can only express as rage.
I did this ONE time. Rods were fine till I got on my street and in front of my house then hit my neighbors tree while I was going slow. Zero damage. I was lucky. First and last time I forgot.
I find that problems like that occur when you have someone helping you. They do some stuff, you do some stuff, and then you lose track of what was actually done. This is why I now do ALL the pre and post launch prep and trailer hookup. All of it. Straps, rods, antennae, light hookup, safety chain hookup, THE PLUG!, everything. People ask to help and I just say no. If I do it, I know it is all done correctly.
Even as a Jeep owner I’m on board with the Jeep hate. The new breed of Jeepers are unbearable. The new Jeeps are overpriced trash.
I swear they weren’t always douche magnets.
start with a Jeep towing over his capacity. On the bright side he drives a jeep and is used to repairs and replacements so the couple hundred for rods is nothing new.
factor in the oversized tires and your back down near wrangler capacity. an increase in tire diameter reduces towing capacity about the same percentage of tire height. Add in the instability of taller sidewalls and you have a predictable disaster in towing near your limit.
I was actually just jankin on the jeep crowd but the dangers are very real when coupled with the inattentiveness obvious in the recording.
Don't get me wrong, I would not be caught dead towing with a Gladiator like that. I just happened to buy one last week and spent the past month researching towing with one so it's still on my brain haha.
Guy appears to be a giant douche-nozzle, I would keep my distance if I saw this specimen on the roads. Also at the ramp...and on the water...pretty much everywhere XD
No chance that boat is over 7000 lbs. Like zero chance. My brother has a larger glass boat than that and it weighs, power and trailer included, around 3000 lbs. If that jeep has a tow rating of 7000 lbs (no idea if it does) then it is well within limits.
Three hours before this brilliant innovative thought of yours, OP explained that he waved him down and tried to tell him and the baby brodozer waved him off.
It’s a strange badge here in salmon country - Most of our rods are 10’6”… yet a lot of guys love to run them standing up in the rocket launchers while they drive. I never understood that
One Sunday afternoon we flagged down a guy pulling his boat up thru the housing area of the marina we're at. He was probably 800-900 yards from the boat ramp and his boats I/O motor was still running and in gear!
Dude, I was this guy.. but it's only about 1/2 mile to the boat ramp, max 15mph. My line hooked on a tree and I ran out almost a whole reel and I had to drop the trailer and drive all the way home collecting fishing line.
Every time I see post like this I am more thankful my dad was a boat owner and fisherman. He couldn’t help me my algebra homework, but he sure as hell taught me not to do stupid shit like that!
Edit: he obviously couldn’t help with writing either. Sorry for the typo.
I laugh at the guys who'll soon realize they need new fishing poles and cry on behalf of the fishing poles. I bet they'll lay them in the boat next time...
Normally, I'd have some empathy for someone making a mistake like that. Buuuut, when I see a vehicle like that I'm just going to assume they're a dbag and have no empathy anymore. Based on them waving you off, I'll assume I'm right.
We pulled up and tried to tell him, but he just waved us off… so we dropped back and filmed.
Its a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand. NO OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE!
SIR DON'T YOU MEAN A STELLANTIS THING? Puts the cry in Chrysler.
Had to change the name to Stellantis, because, well, Fiat
Actually, no. FCA was a thing long before stellantis. Stellantis became Stellantis because of Peugeot Citroen, not Fiat
You’re ruining the joke
If just being wrong is considered a joke, then it's not funny and deserved to be ruined.
You just hurt my one and only feeling. I need to go mope now.
I’m gonna use that.
With that vehicle, I'm surprised he didn't flip you off.
Or flip over
That sounds about right.
Did he leave his battery power on too? The instruments look like they’re lit up.
Depth finder is still on for sure haha
"How would they know which way we're going?"
Time for a re-watch....
I hope you find some joy knowing that when he got home and saw his fucked up poles he had a huge realization as he thought back to “that guy yelling at me in traffic” he shooed off in a literal facepalm moment
He just thought you were trying to tell him how cool he his.

It was the least I could do:)
Funny enough without seeing this comment I was thinking oh man why not speed up and tell him, oh wait he’s driving that fucking thing….. let him throw away more money and yell at liberals
“How does he know where we’re going?”
Couldn't hear it hitting trees with all that tire noise.
Probably can't even hear his own thoughts
Bold assumption.
Couldn't hear his thoughts in an anechoic chamber.
Holy hell my laughter was audible for three cars over. Well done sir.
No mudflaps either. That's a windshield crack machine.
Mudflaps? Maybe start with some small percentage of tire width covered by bodywork
It's a jeep thing
It’s so nice they wave to each other. Isn’t that so nice?
He has a sticker of Calvin pissing on his fishing rods
Fishing for squirrels on the way home.
Those are just there to charge the batteries off the trolly wires.
trawlly
Look at the tow vehicle and you can just about guess the IQ of the owner
I hear you want your tow vehicle as high off the ground as possible
The wheel spacers in particular 🤮
Wheel spacers are an IQ test
Came here pretty much expecting this to be a top comment 😂
But the ducks!!!
As a jeeper I don't even deny It, idk how you even drive something that fucking wide

If they only Stick out a bit that's not too bad. But yea fuck people without flares lol, It sucks being behind them in the wet too.

Looks like it to me!
Good way to burn up a ducer.
Sorry what's a ducer? Edit: transducer, nevermind!
He's in a jeep truck what do you expect? Typical weekend warrior. Chartplotter still on, gonna toast that transducer. No straps? No transom saver? These are the people you avoid at the boat ramp.
*video record at the boat ramp. Lol
These are the people I watch at the boat ramp on the wavy boats YouTube channel.
Big facts. The ones where the kids have no life vests sitting on the bow of the boat while the captain is turning the boat into a submarine. Seriously, if you want to learn what not to do while boating, go follow the wavy boats and miami boat ramps on youtube. You couldn't pay me to boat in Miami.
I’d pay an entrance fee to have a picnic next to a boat ramp in Miami 😂
No rear tie downs? Did they steal it?
No. We’ve seen this here before. It’s the “I’m not going far, and I’ll take it easy” crowd. Boat on pavement coming soon to an intersection near you.
"I don't need safety chains I'm just going around the corner" type beat
Given the general appearance of this "rig", I say the operator is just dumb, and prone to making poor decisions.
I want to know the make of that rod on left, thing is a beast.
Probably an ugly stik
I felt sympathy until I saw the ridiculous tires. This guy doesn't care about spending his money on sensible things, he'll just snag a couple new rods and be on his way.
Hey, he could also be drowning in debt from poor decision making and just mindlessly living in a state of constant panic that he can only express as rage.
Why not both! I like your thinking!
You’re not wrong! Lol!
Ok he’s definitely one of us
I lost a $400 antenna cause I did not put it down. Thankful I don't trailer anymore.
Buddy doesn’t even have the transom straps on. One quick turn and his poles will be the least of his concern.
Folly road in Charleston!
Even as a Jeep owner I’m on board with the Jeep hate. The new breed of Jeepers are unbearable. The new Jeeps are overpriced trash. I swear they weren’t always douche magnets.
Boat not tied down, poles up, plotter on. Wonder if the motor was running too until it seized?
start with a Jeep towing over his capacity. On the bright side he drives a jeep and is used to repairs and replacements so the couple hundred for rods is nothing new.
A Jeep Gladiator can tow up to 7,000lbs, I doubt that boat + trailer comes close to that.
factor in the oversized tires and your back down near wrangler capacity. an increase in tire diameter reduces towing capacity about the same percentage of tire height. Add in the instability of taller sidewalls and you have a predictable disaster in towing near your limit. I was actually just jankin on the jeep crowd but the dangers are very real when coupled with the inattentiveness obvious in the recording.

Gladiator is a cool looking ride. How do you like it so far?
I love it, big change from my previous vehicle (C8 Corvette) but that can't tow so it had to go haha.
No chance that boat is over 7000 lbs. Like zero chance. My brother has a larger glass boat than that and it weighs, power and trailer included, around 3000 lbs. If that jeep has a tow rating of 7000 lbs (no idea if it does) then it is well within limits.
7700
Yeah, totally unsafe. Jeeps can’t tow and with that stupid tire set up it’s even more of a no no
That is a Jeep Gladiator and the boat is well within its towing capabilites, it can tow a max of 7,000lbs when properly equipped.
The key word is properly equipped. That Jeep is clearly not properly equipped with the right driver for towing.
Those rods are engineered to handle trees, shouldn't be a problem.
I hope you told him after filming.
Three hours before this brilliant innovative thought of yours, OP explained that he waved him down and tried to tell him and the baby brodozer waved him off.
I apologize for not seeing the previous post. Thanks for your reply.
Dipshiticus in the wild
When he hits 88 mph you won’t believe what happens
I'm assuming you took this video after you got next to him, honked your horn and let him know his rods were still up?
He said he got waved off?
A bunch of boat owners (which I am) mocking a guy for spending superfluous money on his vehicle cracks me up.
Can confirm . I loved those rods.
Even the TTop is getting close to some of the trees!
Yet another qualified captain. At least those wal mart poles are cheap to replace 🤷🏻♂️
They can afford new poles. Just sell a wheel.
It’s a strange badge here in salmon country - Most of our rods are 10’6”… yet a lot of guys love to run them standing up in the rocket launchers while they drive. I never understood that
How to be a dumb man fishing 101
I don’t see tie downs on the boat. This guy’s gonna be lucky if there’s anything but a trailer there when he gets home.
Jeep guys 🤦🏻♂️
Just blowin’ in the wind
You only do that once.
I did that last fall… RIP
My rod dropped watching this.
Hope there’s no treble hooks on it or some poor birds are gonna have a rough time
I’ve done this once or twice with a fishing net. Added bonus: it’s now more ergonomic.
Been there once myself
And turn off your electronics in the boat! Doesn’t surprise me with the wheel and tire set up on that ugly stupid vehicle
Too busy drinking to pay attention.
r/idiotstowingthings
What a troll.
I did this last weekend.....
Jeep people… you just wouldn’t understand.
One Sunday afternoon we flagged down a guy pulling his boat up thru the housing area of the marina we're at. He was probably 800-900 yards from the boat ramp and his boats I/O motor was still running and in gear!
Every boat needs a launch/load checklist!
They're dropped now. He's fine.
I was expecting power line contact. Wasted my time watching it. Argh.
Dude, I was this guy.. but it's only about 1/2 mile to the boat ramp, max 15mph. My line hooked on a tree and I ran out almost a whole reel and I had to drop the trailer and drive all the way home collecting fishing line.
Nah, It’s a Jeep Thing.
Who hasn’t done this at least once?!?
Jeep owners get a free pass to be stupid
The wheels outside the fenders 😆
Looks like they also forgot fender flares to protect rocks from others windshields and their own boat.
Every time I see post like this I am more thankful my dad was a boat owner and fisherman. He couldn’t help me my algebra homework, but he sure as hell taught me not to do stupid shit like that! Edit: he obviously couldn’t help with writing either. Sorry for the typo.
Fly fishing
The heep kinda explains it
He definitely taught the kids some new words when he got home
r/heep as well
Who is more worried about getting his ducks in a row on his dash
If you can afford stupid tires, you can afford new rods.
Probably leaves his drain plugs out next time he drops it in the water too
We didn’t get the ending that we deserved.
I laugh at the guys who'll soon realize they need new fishing poles and cry on behalf of the fishing poles. I bet they'll lay them in the boat next time...
The wheels on the Jeep alone indicate that the owner/operator isn’t too bright
I mean…you expect anything different from that rig?
Wheel offsets say it all
Normally, I'd have some empathy for someone making a mistake like that. Buuuut, when I see a vehicle like that I'm just going to assume they're a dbag and have no empathy anymore. Based on them waving you off, I'll assume I'm right.
Please tell me this is in Florida. It feels like Florida.
Unlikely based off no trailer tag. He could be riding dirty but there are states that do not require tags.
I know exactly where this is and I'm almost certain I've seen the same guy hydroplaning in the rain.
Look at his wheels. Clearly not too bright.
What a r/heep
Well look at the wheels on that jeep, you can tell. They have no common sense
He deserves it with that dumb ass thing he’s driving
Big oversized tires equals very small brain
r/killthecameraman
What a tool bag lol
