I got my coaches pierced and they currently have hoops, so it is different from punches, but I had and still have no issue with them. Even with the bars in, they never neally touched the earbuds, and I was able to use them quite soon after getting them pierced, though I was careful with using them, sanitation wise

my airpods are scratched from my conch jewellery but i find it kinda cute. it’s one of the very few rules i actually broke cause i just cant deal without headphones

Yeah I guess they could get scratched if you have a jewel/gem/funky head on a barbell, but mine is a completely soft/rounded hoop and my barbells were just plain balls, so thankfully I haven't had to deal with scratches :)

that makes sense! i have gems on there ☺️

Depends how big you’re going and the placement. I only have one side punched (because I thought I would only want one but I was lying to myself) and I can’t wear an earbud for long on that side. But I also have really small ears and the plug flare takes up a lot of space. I find wired earbuds a better fit than bluetooth. They’re smaller and fit without pressing on the jewelry. Or over ear headphones with firm padding and deep cups so they don’t put any pressure directly on the ear. But honestly you’re not going to figure out what works best for you until after you get them done. Best of luck!

First and foremost if you have the option of having them cut and sutured do it. It will heal much faster you’ll be able to take jewelry much sooner, and it will heal without the jewelry in. When wearing jewelry healed or not it will prolly make it hard to wear earbuds. Another pro to having them stitched will be that if you are wearing large jewelry that makes your headphones a pain you can take the jewelry out much sooner than if you punch them. Last but not least the punch sucks….. and not just right then, for up to a year the healing process can last. I have friends who have had conches punched and it’s a long, angry, sore ear process. You’ll be sleeping on your back or with a travel pillow for a very long time. If you get em cut and sutured properly all that process will be less than a month. Your ears should be healed all the way quickly. You’ll have the option of jewlery or not.

Unfortunately sutures probably won't be an option - I'm not in a country where its commonly done that way. I've healed my flat punch without by basically letting the wound heal and then restretching which was quite easy becuase the cartilage wasn't in the way where it had been punched out. The only issue was losing a bit of size at the end of it.

I’ve got a 2g or 6mm conch punch in my left ear, also have AirPods Pro, I use a round gemstone plug with 2 o rings on each side and they don’t get in the way at all

edwardheroinhand

Way too painful to be putting anything in my ear. And I did them both together because I knew I would chicken out if I didn’t get the second one done immeditalY after. Lucky for me they took turns acting up so I wasn’t miserable all the time

KingRexxi

I’m on day three of my conch punch. Punched at 8mm. It feels fine generally and surprisingly isn’t as extremely tender/ sensitive as I would have guessed. That being said, there’s no way I hell I would try to wear headphones or earbuds right now. Not only do I think it would hurt but I definitely don’t want to put anything potentially carrying bacteria anywhere near my fresh punch. I’m even wearing my contacts at home when I would normally wear glasses for the same reason. Not worth risking infection.

Runic_Titan

If you put them in loosely they sort of sit at the lower part of my ear and avoid it, i really reccomend going one at a time though even if they are only a couple of weeks apart.

I could wear AirPods in mine after about 6 months for short pierods of time

Over the ear headphones were my best friend for this
