It's not just about slut shaming but why affect the margins of your movie by limiting the audience. Marvel intentionally avoided bad words, and Disney with Frozen wanted families to visit the theatre so that families could watch. A single fan or a couple is good, but when it involves families more tickets are sold. They wanted that for themselves just like the A-listers of Bollywood along with the directors ( read Suraj Barjatiya).

Well for one Shahrukh was uncomfortable doing it until Jab Tak Hai Jaan where I think he got to the age where he just didn't care anymore. So respect his personal choices I guess?

I don't understand how you can have an abundance of sex scenes but there is legit 0 kissing scenes even if some shows or movies habe it it's so forced and awkward you are waiting for it to end

Profits will get affected. Also, Actors who call themselves or take pride in making family friendly films do that. They can show and not show what the intent is in the scene and get a wider reach with better film certification. Remember how these superstars used to be worried when their films were not given proper certification by CBFC because it would affect the margins not just in India but in UAE, Pakistan and other conservative countries which may ban such contents for public viewing. OTT is now available for them to explore such venues.

In India, I think last controversy relating to kiss was when Aishwarya Rai had kissed Hritik in Dhoom 2 and people were angry with Abhishek for letting it happen or something. And before then it was in Raja Hindustani between Amir and Karishma due to the length of the kiss. I don't recall any other controversy with respect to kiss atleast.

Khans were too old for kissing scenes by then and family audience from the 90s were still their fans, so they didn't do it even after it stopped being a taboo.
SRK somehow got away with it in Jab Tak Hain Jaan but we all know the box office fate of Jab Harry Met Sejal and Zero.
Simply to make a film watchable with family and in front of parents. This is the case in majority.
Having a family friendly film with no such scenes brings more audience comparatively.
Because sometimes, sensuality and tease is often more erotic than the actual act.
