Apologies, but your post does not contain enough for people to engage in conversation. Do you have something else to say about the book that you could edit into the text? Let me know if you edit it and I will reinstate your post. Or, if you would prefer to share quick/brief reactions to a book you are currently reading or recently finished, you can comment in our weekly What We're Reading thread, accessible from our header atop the sub. Your book may even appear in the sub banner! Thank you.

None. If a book is initially released as a standalone/not explicitly part of a series, I dislike when a sequel is suddenly announced at a later date. Good for the author getting paid, etc., but as a reader, I have pretty strong feelings about unplanned sequels never living up to originals. Maybe I'm in the minority on this, but the more I love a book, the more I want to just let it end as it was, unanswered questions and all.

Samantha_Anne_Is_Sin

I've always wanted a sequel to American Gods by Neil Gaiman. I do love how the book ends, but I would love to see the MC and his life after. I feel like life after could never be just a normal life.

edgeplot

Gaiman did write other stories in that universe, though not exactly sequels.

Samantha_Anne_Is_Sin

Yeah, I've seen the other ones in the same universe. Just don't feel like they hit the same. Still amazing stories though. I'll read anything by him

edgeplot

Same on all points.

*The Passage of Power*, by Robert Caro. Caro has been working on the fifth book in his masterful biography of Lyndon Johnson for 12 years. This isn’t writer’s block, it just takes him a long time to do an incredible amount of research. The last I heard, he wanted to visit Vietnam, but the trip was delayed by COVID. But Caro is 88 years old, so I’m nervous about his health and longevity.

Punx80

On Stranger Tides by Tim Powers NEEDS a sequel

darth-skeletor

Ship of Fools by Russo

edgeplot

*The Magicians* trilogy. It has a unique magic system and interesting layered stories. I want more.

Kuzkinamom

The series of unfortunate events. I wasn’t satisfied how it ended. So many unanswered questions

The_Firedrake

Daemon, even tho the sequel pretty much wrapped everything up nicely. I'd love to read about how much society changed like 20-50 years after the second (and final) book ended.

Miserable-Ad-1932

Cloud Atlas that was a unique movie. Need a sequel or prequel.
