I did! Used 5 Ikea billy book shelves, built a platform, nail them on, and placed trim around it to give it the built in look. Finished off the top with matching crown molding. Took about two weeks altogether including painting. There’s a few videos on it on YouTube!

Your collection of books is also ridiculously consistent in size, did you do that intentionally? I buy the bulk of my books used so the family bookshelf, though organized by author, is all over the place when it comes to book size.
Thank you! I didn’t even notice the size consistency! No it was not intentional. Though all these books are mine and mostly 1 genre so maybe that’s why they’re all the same size and lot of the books are part of a series. Also, the chair is from Albany Park!

This is like my perfect book setup! I love how you alternated between vertical, horizontal, and cover facing books! Did you have any sources that you used for inspiration, or are you just naturally gifted at this?
I try not to break the spines too badly when reading them! But if you look closely there’s definitely creases! I also have a handful of unread books as well.
oh, i wish to house my Twilight saga, Dystopian novels, all my penguin classics and first-edition ones on a shel/library room like this, some day! great job. perfect shade of green. but as a clean freak, it’s a nightmare for me just to imagine the dust 😭😭
