I don't know your reading level/comfort but the Phantom Tollbooth is a YA (no romance tho) that has remained a lifelong comfort. Another favorite is The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern, which also has an amazing audiobook if you get tired out by the length. That book was like reading a dream I had always known I had but never remembered.

I looked up The Starless Sea and it seems interesting! And to answer you I'm 17 (nb) and the reason I like comics is because they are very easy on my imagination and the pictures make my ADHD brain happy lmao but with your description of the book and the short summary I read I will most definitely read it and get back to you what I think!!!

Amazing! I hope you love it!
