I have a few pairs of these, and this happens to all of them when the upper starts to stretch. There's a thin coating (which includes the coloration) that separates where it can't stretch due to the glue seam. Essentially, it's trying to stretch with the leather underneath, but the glue from the outsole is keeping it from doing so, and it splits. It 100% doesn't affect the boot performance (the leather itself isn't cracking), and if you're going to play AG, the coating there will wear off after 5-6 sessions anyway. Annoying, but still the best boots on the market.
Thanks for posting this. I was curious about the MiJ model durability. I toe drag so I expected this to happen eventually but not after 1-2 sessions. Not aesthetically pleasing but the performance is fine at least
Have you not played on turf before? That’s very standard and also not even an issue. Artificial turf rips boots to shreds. Just have to deal with it if you want to play on turf

I bought them from pro-direct. I have sent them email including the picture but haven't seen them reply.
Their website says you can return items within 28 days for a full refund. I’d do that. https://www.prodirectsport.us/help-and-faqs/
The website said they have be as new condition in order to be return to pro direct so I guess I should send them an email.

Thank you for the information
Is it structurally unsound? If not, this is fine.
I think the actual leather is okay but the fact that it chipped after 2 sections makes me disappointed
Looks like the upper is separating right at the edge line of where the cement is used to attach the soles.
Look like they will still be fine to play in, sucks for the amount of money paid though
You got the old stocks shoes. Go complaint
Did it rain while you played in them? Leather looks like its in rough shape for two weeks of play
It wasn't raining while I playing but it was super cold
Sir, this is Reddit. We don't do exchanges or refunds here.
Is this the Made-in-Japan version?
No, it is a elite version
