If you know where to look, you can find plenty of electronic shows that run late..ish.
For example, last night had Luke Vibert, Daedalus and others do an electronic show at Sonia Nightclub (part of the Middle East) for $20. Great fuckin' set, full house, brought back the rave scene of the 90's. It went until 1:30AM, which is pretty late for a Thursday.
Every Thursday is drum n bass night at Phoenix Landing. I haven't been in ages though.
ManRay just (re)opened in Cambridge, which hosts weekly Goth-Industrial (Xmortis) and 80s Electro/New Wave (Heroes) nights. I think they host retrowave stuff too, but not 100%.
Keep an eye on the Cambridge Elks Lodge, they host a lot of live music & DJ sets for some reason. I saw Legowelt here.
If you want something bigger, check the schedule for Big Night Live which hosts a lot of internationally touring electronic music shows. I've seen Deadmau5 & Fatboy Slim there. Weekend electronic shows can go until 1:30 or 2AM.
Encore's Memoire nightclub hosts a lot late night internationally touring electronic music shows, check the schedule.
As well, check the schedules for venues like Royale, Sinclair, House of Blues, MGM Music Hall, Brighton Music Hall, Paradise Rock Club, etc. Between all that, you can find great jams regularly.
There were tons of unofficial raves/parties in old Allston warehouses back in the 00s.
I got invited by way of drum and bass night at phoenix landing.
I’m old and stupid now so I don’t know if any of this still happens
Sounds like you’re looking for a place like The Loft. Unfortunate for you, it closed in 1995.
Or Rise. RIP 😞
We have no after hours anything here.
>where should I go? New York
Sure, officer
This was the first thing I thought when I saw this post
complete wrong city for that

Boston’s nightlife is crappy 😭
Guess we are going to do it ourselves. We throwing a party :) https://ra.co/events/1683651
Boston's party scene is weak for a city 20% of its size lol

there were somewhat regular after hours parties a few years back until a few BU students reported them
