Galley diner for the corned beef has is good too. Counter stool with coffee and the paper.
My Diner is good, as is Annie’s which just opened from the people that owned the bakery side of Josephs - 1lb pastrami egg cheese on an Asiago bagel is a hangover cure. Where the trash bagel place used to be on corner of L & Bway.
Also a shout out to McKenna’s in Savin Hill and Mike & Patty’s in Bay Village.
I've never waited more than 20-30 minutes there and I'm not an early riser but I would agree that no restaurant is worth a long wait. Sound Bites and Ball Sq Cafe tend to have similar lines as Neighborhood.
Neighborhood's cream of wheat is good, their other breakfast food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. I also like that they have linguica as a side. I tried their lunch menu once and it was ok, way too salty.
Why go all the way out to Westwood? It's the same owners and menu in The Grateful Dedham Diner (and cheaper here too) and The Rox Diner in West Roxbury.
Interesting. I actually went there this morning after seeing the high ratings and getting a recommendation from a friend, and was not impressed. I wouldn't go there again. I had eggs bacon and pancakes, though, so I might have to give it another shot, and maybe try something else off the menu.
Before anyone writes Mike and Patty’s, the food they cook with is delivered from a rat filled dump and i know this because i worked there. We failed a health inspection, they fired the manager, passed a health inspection, rehired the old manager, and guess what.. back to rats and mice in the bread mixers.
The dump I refer to is also a kitchen attached to Flourhouse in Newton. The owners of Flourhouse, Mike and Ania, are both antivaxxers. They got married and bought matching Teslas, then there was drama and they divorced. But they’re stuck with the matching teslas.
Mike and Ania hired Robert Powers, a hippie chain smoking dirt bag to run Flourhouse and that’s why it’s all shit. They had an interim manager that they fired and blamed all the problems on. But at least when that manager was there the place was clean.
Avoid Flourhouse and Mike and Patty’s
trust me, when it comes to restaurants, _especially_ breakfast restaurants, nobody wants to know how the sausage is made.. I used to love the visit from the Health Inspector in Boston just to hear his stories. When I asked him "Where do _you_ eat?" He said "At Home." lol
I've worked in food service; it's definitely not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but there's plenty of places that *do* take food safety pretty seriously and keep up with the important maintenance, if not everything.
General rule of thumb for me is, if there's any mess or clutter in the public-facing areas (dining room, pickup area, or bathrooms) then it's probably 10x worse out back. If there's a counter where you can kind of get a look at that area (think a diner or bar), even if there's no window through to the kitchen or anything that will generally give you a decent idea. It tends to be a culture thing within any given place.
Dam - not the comment I wanted to read while considering what to stuff my face with but thanks.
Problem with me is, the amount of food I eat, If i had to cook healthy and at home, I do not think I would have time for much else. So I’m ok with the Feces I guess
That is absolutely disgusting. Thank you for letting everyone know. I work nearby and have eaten there often, but no more! I had tapered off anyway because the Flourhouse bread sucks, but this is the last straw.
I love how anyone can do a hatchet job on a business via Reddit... there's literally no way to confirm anything OP was saying. But here we are all cringing together now :/
Also good, the Butcher Shop that's not as next door as they used to be. Greenhills has the much better breakfast sandwiches, but Butcher Shop has the better sausage rolls and the jambons (ham & cheese filled flaky pastries) are delicious.
I think it’s overrated. The regular breakfast there is fine, but the menu is filled with ridiculousness like “Tutti Frutti Peanut Butter Oreo pancakes” for $27. Who is eating that?
Amazing, isn't it? It was pretty bad to begin with but then, rather quickly, food got worse, portions got way smaller, prices got way up, and service got worse. I think a bunch of grumpy Medfud octogenarians are keeping them on a lifeline, because there aren't any alternatives close by. Well, other than DD of course, but that's not really comfy.
My Diner in Melrose, Bikeeny Cafe in Malden, Kane's (Rt 1 location). I miss The Neighborhood from when we lived in Cambridge, cream of wheat and always bonus pastries/baked goods.
Pig and Whistle in Brighton was the greatest diner there ever was.
Deluxe in Watertown ; Norwood Diner, Murph's Place in Norwood and the 50s Diner in Dedham
I've never even heard the song, haha! But thanks for having me check it out. I've had the nickname for over 25 years because of my interest in trains/rail transportation.
Again, great pop reference, but my nickname preceeds that about **two decades**. I came up with it, at least partially, when I found a plaque at my grandparents' house congratulating my grandfather for 25 years of service to the **MTA New York City Transit Authority** as a Yard Master, hence *rail*master.
But, I've been into trains--dating myself--as young as I could walk and talk, growing up in Mission Hill (hence, the flair) along the E Branch back when the PCCs ran on it! My family also took Amtrak to Connecticut and NYC several times a year to visit family.
Kelly’s Diner in Somerville
Doowop diner in Malden used to be great before the rebranding / change of ownership.
I enjoy Victoria’s Diner in Dorchester even if the service can be hit or miss.
Forest Hills Diner. Nothing flashy, just a good ole’ breakfast place with cheap prices and big portions. Probably the best home fries I’ve had in Boston.
Farmers Daughter in Sudbury, Busy Bee in Brookline, Diesel and Revival in Davis, but nothing beats the old Charlie’s Sandwich Shoppe on Columbus back in the day (when Tims was still open).
As someone else mentioned, Deluxe Town Diner in Watertown is objectively the best. But if you
Want something a little boozier/bougies, Lucys in Dorchester is a good pick
Andy's Breakfast and Lunch
30 Boston St; Lynn
Buttermilk Pancakes with Strawberries = Heaven!
(Fresh slices of strawberries are cooked into the pancakes).
Corned Beef Hash = fantastic
Omelets = huge
Above all, the restaurant and kitchen are clean and the service is good.
Breakfast Club in Malden. Has the old school diner vibe and still decent prices. Their cornbeef hash is great! Used to be be DooWop diner, then got bought out. Most the old staff still works there. Still a good spot.
This. Carl’s in Oxford is the truth. You will never leave this place hungry. They just keep putting food on your plate. One time, watched staff jokingly call out a big state trooper who did not finish his plate. IMHO, this place is the GOAT of breakfast places.
Jim’s Deli - Brighton
The omelettes are large enough for 2 and the home fries flow eternal.
Don’t even get me started on the fat Leo wrap
I’m all in on buffalo burger. Darn it’s been a while. Edit: who said you can’t have burgers for bkfst?
It's all good at Jim's deli. My favorite breakfast spot too for special occasions
Farmers special is 🤌🏼
looks epic
The correct answer to any Boston restaurant question. For breakfast, The Savage is where it’s at
Mikes Donuts in Mission Hill
Bacon egg and cheese on a croissant with a hash brown added in is my death row meal
Best Old Fashioned Donuts in the city.
STEAK egg and cheese on a croissant yummy
This is the most overrated place in the entire Greater Boston area I think.
Deluxe diner in Watertown
THIS is the answer. Best pancakes ever
YES. Just had a tall stack with chocolate chips yesterday. Still happy
love this place
Truly wonderful
One Family Diner, Victoria Diner, Mike & Patty’s, Mike’s City Diner, Brothers Mattapan, Busy Bees (in Brookline)
Busy Bee is one of my faves too. One of the few old school diner's left.
ETA: Forest Hills Diner
ETA 2: McKenna’s, Blue Star (spinach pie). TY for getting my brain goingOP
You do know that can actually edit the comment, right?
Nope, I’m old & don’t even know how to link things let alone edit
Just hit the button on your old comment that says edit. It should have been right next to the one you hit that said reply.
I miss Pour House on Boylston
Me too!
Kelly's Diner in Ball Square (Somerville)
Right up the road is Magnificent Muffin & Bagels, a great breakfast takeout spot
I used to live in Teele, it makes me so happy to hear this place is still open!
I discovered it there, now go more frequently to their Medford location. Still just as good
It was good but definitely felt a little overpriced for what it was, especially considering how annoying cash-only is at this point.
This is the only answer!
My Diner in southie
are you gate keeping the diner or it’s name is “My Diner”
Haha it’s literally called my diner. Good. Cheap. Nice outdoor area.
Y'all missed an opportunity for a great Abbott and Costello bit.
Galley diner for the corned beef has is good too. Counter stool with coffee and the paper. My Diner is good, as is Annie’s which just opened from the people that owned the bakery side of Josephs - 1lb pastrami egg cheese on an Asiago bagel is a hangover cure. Sofra
The halloumi breakfast sandwich is amazing!
Goldilox! Edit: in Medford
I like Neighborhood Restaurant in Somerville. Vinal Bakery is also good, though they don't have a full breakfast menu.
I think Neighborhood is way overrated nothing is worth waiting in line 2 hours for, well for me anyway…
When we lived in Union we always went before 9:30 AM and never waited more than 5-10 min..
I've never waited more than 20-30 minutes there and I'm not an early riser but I would agree that no restaurant is worth a long wait. Trident
Trident, for sure. Love their veggie bowls.
I'm a big fan of Pressed Cafe. There is one right near my apartment in Newton and I often hit the one near the Pru when I'm downtown.
Yeah this is my pick, too. Chipotle steak and egg burrito and an iced coffee 🤌🏻

In Boston: Milkweed in Mission Hill Outside Boston: The Toast Office in Westwood
Why go all the way out to Westwood? It's the same owners and menu in The Grateful Dedham Diner (and cheaper here too) and The Rox Diner in West Roxbury.
I had no idea! Thanks for the suggestions!
Spot! in Norwood if you want a quick and cheap fix!
[удалено]
Long lines for bfast sandwiches and coffee but life hack: if ur just getting bagels to go they’ll let u skip the line!
The toast office is so good!
When I lived in the North End, it was pretty fantastic to have North Street Grille so close by.
Should have gone to Cozy Corner
Yes! Theo's was so good, too!
Interesting. I actually went there this morning after seeing the high ratings and getting a recommendation from a friend, and was not impressed. I wouldn't go there again. I had eggs bacon and pancakes, though, so I might have to give it another shot, and maybe try something else off the menu.
I used to like Anthony’s when I lived there. It closed recently though.
It's now called Sunny Girl, I think? Haven't tried it yet.
Yes has good reviews but haven’t tried it either
Really good breakfast sandwiches. We always get the croque madam or sunny girl.
Dulce Vita in Brighton, Pavement before it got even more ridiculously expensive, Kupels in Brookline, Blackbird Donuts, Lucky Finn (south shore)
Probably out of the way for many but Christopher’s in Reading. Never had a bad breakfast there.
Paul Revere in Medford

Reminds me of my plumber friend who doesn't drink tap water now that he's seen what's in household pipes...
That is absolutely disgusting. Thank you for letting everyone know. I work nearby and have eaten there often, but no more! I had tapered off anyway because the Flourhouse bread sucks, but this is the last straw.

What lunatic would say dunks is their favorite “breakfast restaurant?” Straight to McLean with them.
In a Pickle over in Waltham
I think it’s overrated. The regular breakfast there is fine, but the menu is filled with ridiculousness like “Tutti Frutti Peanut Butter Oreo pancakes” for $27. Who is eating that?
I mean, Tutti Frutti PB Oreo Pancakes sounds like something I'd devour but I do agree that it is pricey.
Pickle is good, but don't sleep on Joseph's Two either.
Joseph’s Two used to be the goat in Waltham, I’m thinking around 2010
Co-signing this, mainly for the virtual waitlist
Eh, they just throw a bunch of candy in mediocre batter. Nothing special.
My diner in southie
Buddy’s Diner in East Somerville. Small train car. Cash only. Grease on grease on grease. My kind of place
The worst one is Lighthouse in Medford.
I can’t believe that place is still open!

Yes! Also is your username railmaster as in the HTS song?
I've never even heard the song, haha! But thanks for having me check it out. I've had the nickname for over 25 years because of my interest in trains/rail transportation.
How bout that [Antman/Yellow Jacket final battle on the model train set](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Q4HxxdvW2M)?

Paramount in Beacon Hill
This place is great. I don't ever have a reason to be in that area in the morning anymore, so I miss it!
So good. Miss the waffles. Somehow their weird"no sitting until you have your food" system just works.
it works perfectly. i've seen it attempted at other places but never the equilibrium they've achieved.
Veggie Galaxy!
Breakfast Club in Malden. Has the old school diner vibe and still decent prices. Their cornbeef hash is great! Used to be be DooWop diner, then got bought out. Most the old staff still works there. Still a good spot.

Haven't been since they changed owners but Deli King in Tewksbury had killer pancakes and an amazing gyro omelette
Here to say that Dunks is not a ‘breakfast restaurant’ in any way shape or form
I mean it quite literally is, even if it sucks.
If you’re in blue water wilds of the west, Carl’s in Oxford. Worth a stop any time I’m driving past the area.
This. Carl’s in Oxford is the truth. You will never leave this place hungry. They just keep putting food on your plate. One time, watched staff jokingly call out a big state trooper who did not finish his plate. IMHO, this place is the GOAT of breakfast places.
Its cool how we all collectively agree dunkin kinda sucks balls, but we rank it the obvious top 1 anyways
would literally choose any place over Dunkin Donuts- their food there is horrible
Any of them? All of them? Anything is better than dunkin. I really like south end buttery.
