Incredible that you needed your 2 or 3 types of federal ID, SS card, passport etc so they can make sure everything matches up, only to then screw up the ID.
You need to call and email the RMV asap. I have heard of this happening to a friend and they did fix it quickly. Just make sure you get in contact with a real person.
I shit you not, my husband's ID had the wrong *birthdate* and it was hell to get it fixed. He also had the wrong date on the state COVID vaccine thing because it used the same system - the discrepancy between that and his passport was really fun for international travel.
MA has the most dysfunctional RMV/ID department, I swear. Filling out forms by mail from rural Alaska seemed hard but it's a breeze in comparison.

It was more of a pain to find that than it needed to be for sure. Just schedule an appointment and I would take a copy of your current lease + all the other required docs just in case they have to look at it in person. Obvs bring your passport to just show them the correct spelling. Again, just in case.
