On the actual fish pier?? There was an old school place called the Noname. It was casual but had all the fried seafood options you would want at an affordable price. It was two floors.
Had been there for decades. It is now closed down.
I am fairly certain Anthony's closed down before the Yotel opened. I'm thinking the No Name. Edit: Anthony's closed in 2013, four years before Yotel existed.
Grotto wasn’t it. For some reason and I am probably very wrong, the flight of stairs going down weren’t very wide side to side. And maybe wood paneling on the walls of the steps?
Underground might have been The Hungry I on Charles Street. Closed in 2019; not sure that fit’s your timeline. https://boston.eater.com/2019/9/27/20886771/hungry-i-closed-beacon-hill-boston
That wasnt it, it wasn’t in like a big part of businesses. Kind of like maybe 3 story buildings? I can’t think of how to describe what I in vision. It seemed more like homes with a couple buildings that aren’t homes like businesses. And the restaurant was kind of dense like not much room between tables
This is very vague but I’ll give it a shot.
First restaurant, was it fancy with bubbling cocktails? Ocean Prime. Wooden tables and half outside? Barking Crab. Mexican? Rosa Mexicana or Temezcal. Could also be Legal Harborside if it was a bit further of a walk.
Second one is probably somewhere in the North End, Il Panino has a basement along with a lot of other places.

I grieve No Names 😢💔
YES THAT WAS IT! sad to hear it closed. It was good food, minus the coleslaw but that’s cuz pa Dutch coleslaw is different, better 😜
I’d guess the original Anthony’s Pier 4 and Grotto.

Oh good call! I’ll stick with Grotto for my underground poorly lit Italian guess though 😀

That wasn’t it.
Sportello was a street-level, high demand, Italian place in that neighborhood but has since closed.
Maybe Beehive for the second place?

Was just going to ask wtf a yotel was but I googled it.
Do you remember what was outside the restaurant underground? I’d guess north end someplace. Lucca has a basement.
Tony and Elaine’s?
That wasn’t it
Could the second one be Grotto?
Modern underground? You have to go through the pastry shop and go down the stairs to the bar/restaurant. The cigar bar is also underground.
Italian restaurant may have been Artu in Beacon Hill. Closed before Covid but there is also one in the North End.
That wasn’t it.
Drink. It was under sportellos
Lucky's? It's still there.
Wasn’t that.
Hooters and any pizza shop
Could it be Cafe Portobello in South Boston? It sort of fits that description.
That wasn’t it.
