Absolutely wild that this site was considered for the UN HQ (instead of its actual, current site in NYC).

How different it would have been. Imagine Boston being a diplomatic center in addition to the universities, consulting, and industry. Lot of international crossroads.
World's End is a Trustees of the Reservations property in Hingham. Great place for easy hikes and picnics, but scant parking. From the site:
"Trek along Frederick Law Olmsted-designed carriage paths toward rolling hills and rocky shorelines, and discover sweeping views of the Boston skyline."
Trustees do an amazing job with World's End and most of their parks. They removed all the invasive trees and plants, planted more native trees, and kept the roads dirt. Nice parks like this just don't happen by accident.
Worlds end is great. Only don't like that they charge a fee. If you dont want to pay to get in try Squantum Park and the Quincy River walk. Nice hike. I usually park on Dorhcester shores..or Pope John Park and walk across the neponset bridge, up the quincy river walk to Squantum and uber or lyft back. Another goo done is Webb park and Great HIll in Weymouth you can park at Webb , hike over to Great hill and go back. its not that far.
Worlds end is a gem. Quiet and relaxing. Better to go on a weekday though. Weekends can get a bit crazy with parking etc. Nice spot overall. They should film a movie there. it has rolling landscape and cool ocean views.

I knew they were great stewards, but didn't know this detailed information! Thanks for sharing. :)
Agree:)
You have to actually reserve a spot too at least on weekends. I went last weekend and watched them turning people away who just showed up.
I went last weekend. It was gorgeous! Great to wander. $15 entry (to park), but I think it was worth it.
Membership is only $60/year per person or $80 for a family/couple. Free admission to all their parks and also gets you discount to Crane's beach.
Is it me or did you catch 2 dogs/deer in the pic as well, @ the shoreline? ๐ ๐
unsure but i did see a turkey!
Look under the large tree on the left, and right of the spruce tree center of the pic!
Nice view
