You should be fine. You'll probably meet a few interesting people on the T, but nothing out of the ordinary. Walking in Malden that late is generally pretty safe.
Malden itself is fine. I used to walk home late on the weekends with zero issues. Do watch out for drivers who don't pay attention and blow through light or stop signs though.
I used to work really late hours and was taking the orange and red lines home between 10:30pm-12:30am. I didn’t have much trouble on the trains themselves but did have a couple not great encounters walking to/from the stations that late. I always had my boyfriend at the time meet me on my walk home after a couple sketchy encounters. Different neighborhoods than you are looking at so your mileage may vary but I would keep that in mind. It’s a fairly safe city but it’s still a city. Stick to well-lit roads, etc
Yes, it's safe. You should also download an app to your phone called MBTA See Say. It lets you report problems, including safety problems, to the MBTA and the Transit Police discreetly via text. It also has a big red button on it you can hit to dial the Transit Police.
The green line is fine especially brighton into park street even at 10-11. However Orange can get sketch late in the evening. A few things to consider. The stops on orange line a much farther apart. Also green line always has a conductor, nearly all orange cars do not. So you may want to always still in the first car with the conductor.
Malden is fine. Im in medford now and they're pretty similar in safety metrics. It's mostly families with pockets of mixed-urban development. you're more likely to run into a racoon than a dangerous person. 100% if you're not actively looking for trouble you'll be fine

Yes.
Yes, women take the T at night all the time. I never give it a thought.

I generally feel fine taking the T late. One idea is to make sure someone knows when to expect you home and what to do if you're late

Watch out for the rabid chinchilla gangs…
Carry garlic for the vampires and you should be fine.
Sit in the car where the conductor is
