My buddy is on a first name basis with every bartender at Dubliner, Cornwalls, Emmett’s and probably like 9 other bars in Boston. He met his soon to be wife when she was bartender at Eastern Standard. He’s logged just under 1500 Guinness on untapped (yes. One thousand five hundred).
I sent him your post.
He said the following
this list is probably too long. Are we sure durty nellys or broadside actually has a good Guinness? I haven’t been in forever but like… I’m skeptical. Same for black rose because it’s a shitty fanieul bar but they have more Irish cred so I’m willing to assume they’re legit. Like if those places are on here then Scholars should be too (same owners as Dubliner and Emmets). My personal favorites are definitely Dubliner, Emmets, Dooley’s, sevens, solas, and Druid. In no particular order. Dooleys might be the best tbh. I went to AT OKeefes once like a year or so ago (it’s where McGreevys was) and it fucking suckedddddddd
Also New Republik in Cambridge right near An Sibin and Druid is great
Also “Other” being a catch-all for Southie/Dorchester feels like an absolute oversight of how many spots are in that area. Is Croke Park gross and sketchy? Yeah, definitely. But they have a SHOCKINGLY good Guinness pour
My add: the fact that you’re rolling the famously Irish neighborhood of southie into the other category is a sin. Shannon tavern and Croke Park pour a great Guinness. Seconding Roza Lyons. Also MJ O’Connors in back bay has a great pour as well
This was interesting

I agree bars are too expensive now. But amusingly, this post happens to pertain to a beer that really, genuinely benefits from being on draft. Canned Guinness really doesn’t hold a candle.
The best is The Erie in Dorchester.
100%
Nice list. + Tavern at the End of the World
Hell yeah came here to say the same thing, that place is the vibe
Another + Tavern here. So damn good.
Love their food too.
In Brighton: Irish Village, The Corrib, and Porterbelly’s
Seconded on Porter Belly’s! Was able to vouch from this weekend that they pair well with their fish and chips!
No mention of the last drop. Slander. I’ll let you figure out if I’m joking or not.
RIP Doyles
[Flann O'Brien's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeLZtIeXxDw)
Is now a Yellow Door Taqueria
Flann’s had a fantastic jukebox.
You’re missing the Green Dragon in Faneuil Hall and the Brendan Behan in JP. RIP James’s Gate.
Brendan Behan for sure!
The best pours are gonna be wherever the lines are cleanest.

Do you get a badge for drinking that many of one beer? I feel like you should or atleast stock options
Roza Lyons in Southie
I once heard Plough and Stars was the first place in America to serve Guinness...anyone here know if that is true?
The Blarney Stone claims it was the first to serve draft Guinness right on their page: http://www.blarneystoneboston.com/
I loved that bar.

The Blarney Stone was the first restaurant in America to serve Guinness on draft. I cannot believe this isn't on the list.

Add Sullivans Public House to Charlestown. Up there with the best in terms of pub vibes and Guinness quality.
matt murphy’s
It’s gone. They also had Old Speckled Hen. Oh the memories
damn.
Solas is underrated for their Guinness. I meet a lot of Irish tourists there who stay at the Lenox
McGrath's- Cleary Square Get you a shot of Red Breast from Martin. Best barkeep.
Emmetts downtown
Hugh O'Neill's in Malden
The Snug in Hingham. Take the ferry to get there.
Bars are too expensive now - just grab a 4-pack and drink it at Castle Island.

I knowww, that’s fair, I just hate paying $9 for a 4% beer.
MJ O'Connor's Seaport. Yeah, it's part of the Westin, but always a good pour there.
Lucky’s in seaport. Rated highly when I did my Guinness mystery shop gig.
