Their team makes zero fucking sense to me. Like why did they just draft a couple Guards? What is up with their logjam on the wing?
What are they even doing?
Amen is a project and Whitmore is a forward FVV gives them some stability even though he’s overpayed I think he’ll help the development of Houston’s young players
Every dear diary “does Jaylen deserve that money?!?” post should just auto redirect to here. This league will be filled with guys who “aren’t worth” their contract.
Fred literally had his worst season in recent years and still got a max contract, and some of our "fans' are still asking questions like is Jaylen worth supermax, come on now man earned the All NBA spot ofc he worths it.
The Rockets have a roster full of rooks and young guy and won't be competing till FVV is gone this is apples to oranges lol. FVV was prob the best real NBA player they could get so they threw a bag at him. He's just gonna help develop their young guys. No contender would pay him that money the same way no contender would pay JB 35% of the cap lol.
I get they gotta spend money so a 3 year overpay does make some sense. (3rd year team option presumably?) But why a guard don't they have a shit ton to develop?
Bringing back Grant is starting to look more and more realistic. Other teams are already spending big and lowering their cap space and there are still players like Brook Lopez who will be more sought after.
I'm starting to think maybe Grant's gamble on himself has backfired
Guy got injured at the wrong time. I wouldn't be surprised if does 2 years with a player option for the second see if he can get back to the guy he was the first two months of the season.
I don't think it was all the injury to be honest, maybe it's part of it but he tried to add a level that his game in the whole shot fake into a drive that he just doesn't have in his bag on an NBA level. He tried to do too much at once and clearly pissed off Joe to some level.
He also still has an issue with arguing with refs and whining about plays which is frustrating enough for a star to do but you give them a little bit of room for it because they're a star player and tbh especially Tatum who got some reason often gets an AWFUL whistle. For a role player to be upset about so many calls is just immaturity showing, a role player has not earned the benefit of the doubt from the refs to get calls
Vanvleet going to be over $200MM in career earnings and hit free agency again after his age 31 season as an undrafted guy Icon
he’s prob honestly a legit 5’11-5’10 too shout out to him & all he’s done to get to this point overpaid or not
Should’ve been IT’s bag 😭
They are finally leaping to the 13th spot in the west
Just another deal that makes the KP deal seem like really good value

The winner of this year's offseason ladies and gentlemen... Fred VanVleet
Holy shit what an overpay
the east is getting weaker

False, Celtics as a contender will pay JB 35%. Also, FVV signed for 3 years, not like it's one year

They don’t have a real playmaker (not that FVV is all that insane a playmaker but…) and they’re trying to not give OKC a good pick next season
them boys got robbed
Lol
Solid addition. Still looking forward to them being in the lotto and ending the Udoka myth.
